I stop here every time I am in Ellijay! A great little sandwich spot with awesome gluten free bread. The staff are perhaps my favorite part of the experience - always friendly and accommodating, leaving you with a smile.
Great little place we stopped at for lunch on a rainy day. I had the scoop salad and tomato soup. The soup was creamy but a little on the sweet side. Still good, but I prefer a savory soup over sweet.
The chicken salad and (house made) pimento cheese were delicious. The chicken salad has grapes in it, which I LOVE. I know some of you don't.
A special touch that I liked was that they have loose leaf tea. They pack it full and put it in a VERY large cup. I love that it added more flavor and I didn't have to ask for a refill.
We finished our meal off with a HUGE slice of gluten free chocolate cake. It was rich and delicious! You will like this even if you don't do gluten free! We all loved it.
Our server was super nice and helpful.
We parked in the free public parking lot
Dogs allowed on enclosed porch and outside.
Raegan was absolutely fantastic! We are here in Fort Mountain for a Women’s Retreat and drove to Ellijay for some lunch. Initially, going to a different restaurant but said it was over an hour of wait. We walked into The Shack with 10 woman and Raegan was so knowledgeable on each menu item and gave us reccomendations and substituted for those who were gluten free. She was working the counter ALONE! And served us so quickly.
Thank you for wonderful service! 🤍
We stopped by Ellijay Coffehouse after a hike and the coffee was amazing. We ordered the hot drip coffee and Honey Bear latte. Both were amazing. They also offer Gluten Free cookies so we got the Mocha Java and Peanut butter. Amazing!!
Our fam came on Memorial Day and loved it. The environment on the back patio area was super easy to have all 3 of our kids, and the tapas my husband and I shared were excellent. He previously spent time living in Spain, so it was a treat to enjoy some tapas as we passed through beautiful Ellijay. Our kids also enjoyed the tapas and gluten free pizza.
It was good for out of towner (3rd floor) but there is elevator on back side of building.
They have gluten free bread if you want gluten free burger but not too any other choices. They did warn me about fries not being gluten free so they are aware. The mashed potato was gluten free and it didn't hit me so thumbs up.
Local pizza spot specific to Ellijay with very unique, authentic wood fire oven pizzas. We tried several options among the red and white pizzas both with my personal favorite (not pictured) the shiitake truffle pizza. For the flavor, I think the prices are justified. They had excellent salad option with plenty of protein as well and fondue that was very smooth, complementary to the bread with limited tastes of alcohol (traditionally used to prepare it). Other than the salads, limited gluten free options but they did accommodate to provide cucumbers to use with the fondue.
Interior is very nicely decorated and on theme with the restaurant. Only docs on the service and atmosphere were the limited seating/space that made things at times feel crowded and possibly stressed out the hostess.
My husband always enjoys their food. And for me the gluten free bread actually worked really well with the veggies. The guy with the nose ring was very kind about my dietary restrictions and friendly to us.
