Wonderful in the treatment and in the preparation of homemade products. The croquettes, delicious and gluten-free, I have celiac disease. They have a menu, but we wanted to eat a poke type dish. Great! A super extensive letter. I'm a water person, but my husband ordered an Altea beer and was delighted.
I've visited El Granero on several occasions for business lunches and have always been very satisfied with the food and service, which have been excellent. However, on this last occasion, the experience was quite disappointing.
I booked a table for seven people three days ago, including a child with celiac disease, and was assured they had a special menu for him. When we arrived, we were informed that there were no gluten-free croquettes, despite having previously confirmed this, and they served him ham instead. I understand that unforeseen events can arise, but it was an unpleasant surprise.
During the meal, the service was very slow, and the waiters seemed somewhat disgruntled, which detracted from the experience. Furthermore, we were told there was no hamburger left for the child and he could only choose chicken breast, which is also understandable.
When dessert arrived, we asked if the ice cream was gluten-free. The waiter checked with the kitchen again and confirmed that the gluten-free options were only vanilla and chocolate. We chose chocolate ice cream, but they brought us one with cookies on top. When we pointed this out, the waiter apologized and the meal was immediately changed.
It's important to note that celiac patients don't choose to follow a gluten-free diet; they have an autoimmune disease that requires special care. On this occasion, we felt those needs were not respected. Furthermore, the child expressed feeling left out because he didn't have his full menu and they tried to poison him with the ice cream and cookies.
Despite having had good experiences in the past, this visit was a disaster for my family. I hope they can improve their attention to special needs and how they handle unforeseen events in the future.
I had this restaurant planned to visit for years and the opportunity had not arisen until yesterday when I was finally able to visit it. Two of us went with a prior reservation and the truth is that it did not disappoint me at all. The place is very nice and large, it has an open kitchen glazed on one side. The menu is very original and has gluten-free, vegetarian options and something for all tastes. We ordered some tequeños, a salad and a pizza (with a gluten-free base) to share. We were too full (we asked for half a pizza to take away) to order dessert but from what we could see, the desserts all looked incredible. I will definitely return another time to continue trying more options from their menu. I also highlight the service because it was very attentive and friendly at all times. I found the quality-price ratio very good.
Spectacular food, super friendly waiters, and gluten-friendly food. They even had gluten-free croquettes!
If you have celiac disease, I highly recommend this place. 🥰
We recently discovered this gastronomic gem located in the heart of the Heart of Jesus in Elche. They had recommended it to us and it was a great success. Beautiful decoration and atmosphere, good presentation of the dishes, very good quality/price ratio and excellent service. One thing that should be noted for people with celiac disease is that they adapted the gluten-free menu to me (including the desserts, which by the way, were delicious!!!), something that I value very much. We will repeat without a doubt.
The gluten-free food was delicious, however, the prices on the digital menu they offer are outdated, which is why I'm giving it two stars. Everything else was very good.
Very good food, excellent service, and knowledgeable gluten-free options. Pleasant, air-conditioned atmosphere (we had dinner inside) during a heat wave. Highly recommended.
