Solo female traveller. Needed lunch before a conference. Really friendly and helpful. Great food and convenient. Waiter explained menu well (gluten free)
Yummy food, lots of variety. Wasn't to expensive compared to other areas in Istanbul. I am celiac and it was nice to have options for my partner who isn't celiac. Had yummy and beautiful looking desserts. Was too full to eat but took some away with us ❤️
If your near by you have to try....
Kolcuoğlu Bomonti Ocakbaşı, a well-known name for Kolcuoğlu Kebap Restaurant, stands out from all other kebab restaurants in one important respect. It has created a great difference with its menu for celiacs. You have celiac disease and want to eat gluten-free lahmacun! This is just one example. It has a completely separate oven for the gluten-free menu. This is a very, very important awareness. The fact that smiling and positive employees are fully aware of the issue is also a great luxury. If you say the environment, it is also very warm. Thank you very much.
Nice restaurant, typical dishes divided between Ottoman and Anatolian cuisine. Very nice garden, friendly and prepared waiters. Also attentive to allergies and intolerances, possibility of eating gluten free. Prices slightly above average. Kadir was very kind.
We chose it for a birthday dinner. The venue and the view are very beautiful. It was very enjoyable to watch Istanbul shining with the dusk. The service quality and presentations are very successful. The waiters are incredibly attentive. It is also very important for me to have gluten-free options. They can provide this as well. The only disadvantage is that they do not offer valet service due to its location.
Every single one of the appetizers was delicious. As someone with celiac disease, it was great to find a place where we could eat comfortably, that was tasty and reasonably priced. I will be coming back more often now.

** A Very Disappointing Experience – Poor Service and Misleading Gluten-Free Options**
We specifically chose this restaurant because they advertise gluten-free options, which is essential for my wife due to her gluten allergy. However, what followed was nothing short of a frustrating experience.
We ordered a gluten-free pide, but what arrived at our table was a lahmacun. When we questioned the waiter, he casually responded that "since it's gluten-free, it looks like that." This explanation was completely unacceptable—gluten-free or not, a pide and a lahmacun are distinct dishes.
After a brief discussion, the waiter changed his stance, insisting that while the dish looked like a lahmacun, its ingredients were those of a pide. Again, a ridiculous claim. Eventually, he admitted that the restaurant does not have a separate oven for gluten-free dishes, meaning they cannot actually prepare gluten-free pide. Yet, they still charge for it as if it were a genuine gluten-free option! If a proper gluten-free dish cannot be prepared, this should be made clear **before** taking orders, instead of misleading customers.
To make matters worse, we also ordered a regular lahmacun, and its base was completely burnt—another disappointment in an already frustrating visit.
Overall, this experience was unacceptable due to both poor service and the lack of honesty regarding gluten-free offerings. If you value transparency and quality, I cannot recommend this place.
Good brunch and gluten-free food. They have gluten-free bread for toast. Vegetarian options and plant-based milk are also available, ideal for vegans. Friendly service, nice atmosphere, and cleanliness are excellent.
A very unique pub! Good gluten-free options, I just wish they stocked the Gluten-free Efes beer which is available in many other Istanbul pubs! Really friendly staff who were happy to explain the gluten-free food options to me.
Absolutely absurd cost for gluten free. Went based on the reviews advertising GF bread and was charged 390 lira EXTRA for my breakfast to replace my bread. Never seen prices like that before anywhere in the world. When I questioned it (as I assumed there was a mistake) the waiter insisted that is the cost

We wanted to try the authentic Ottoman foods and Matbah delivered! Some dishes are unusual - stuffed calamari and stuffed melon. My celiac husband received gluten-free bread and the menu was clearly labeled. Service was very good and we received a gift of a bead pendant at the end of our meal. We had visited Istanbul before and were very surprised that the restaurant was nearly empty by 10pm. The other diners were locals, Spaniards, and Americans.
All food is fresh and prepared at the moment. Everything on the menu is vegan and celiac people like me have glutenfree options (not the buns or pida though!).
I had a lovely chat with the owner, who is really passionate about her job.
I’ll come back for sure next time I’ll be in Istanbul!
Very intimate and clean place, we came after reading the nice reviews for the gluten free menu (it really was). Joseph served us with great kindness and precision, very good typical food. I highly recommend it and hope to return soon.
We really enjoyed our meal here. The service was exceptional, staff super friendly and chatty. They accommodated my gluten free needs and brought out complimentary desert and multiple cups of different flavoured teas. It was an experience more than just a meal. Highly recommend.
Terrace restaurant with spectacular views of the blue mosque. The food was very good and there were some gluten free options. The staff was very friendly and there was live traditional music, which I really enjoyed.

I invite all Italians to stop by this restaurant to try both the typical dishes and the decidedly positive situation.
I am celiac and I had a great time eating in this place, attentive to the customer's requests when ordering and precise in the delivery of the dishes, repeating several times that the dish was gluten free.
I felt very comfortable, I ate peacefully with my family and it was truly exciting.
I tried meat dishes, fish and side dishes: special!
try it and believe it.
pampered and accompanied by the nicest and most friendly waiter I have ever met!
What a fantastic place. The food was delicious. We had the meze plate. I have a gluten free diet and was eating my normal hummus and tzatziki with my own rice cakes and the waiter brought me some delicious gluten free bread. Such excellent service. He even included a complimentary gluten free dessert. I recommend this restaurant. Excellent.

Great environment being in an old, wine cellar type space - great for dates! Service was extraordinary, we got a bunch of free appetizers on the house for no reason really which was a very nice gesture. Our server was so considerate and nice and they rolled out the carpet for my girlfriend who is celiac and made two portions for every thing we ordered to accommodate her. Cocktails, next level too!
The food, there was a lot of good stuff but perhaps I was looking for something a little more punchy. My girlfriend did tell me to give 5 stars for the food, i would settle for a 4.45 (rounded down to 4 :\)
Very expensive for the value. To correct an erroneous review, theyDO NOT have a gluten free menu, but have gf bread. They also will work with you to understand your food restrictions, but the quality and portions were not super great, even though I wanted to like this place. Just a tourist trap, but so it goes being gluten free in the bread capital.
We chose hidden garden as my wife is coeliac. Tables are in a lovely open space ( an oasis!) in rear of restaurant in their hidden garden. All staff were great, lovely setting and truly amazing food !! The manager Polat was very knowledgeable for my wife’s dietary needs. Lots of places to choose from in Istanbul but we would come back here for the food and the experience.
Favorite spot on our trip in Istanbul. I am Celiac and they knew about gluten free here, and had options from a lot of the menu items. The service here was wonderful with a lot of attention to detail. Very nice, and fast service. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was lovely even on a packed Friday night. Thank you so much and we will be back.
We were really pleased with everything today, everyone was very attentive, I would like to thank especially Mr. Latif and Mr. Osman, gluten sensitivity was taken into consideration in the meals, everything was prepared accordingly, everything from the bread to the bread, thanks to you, I had a perfect birthday meal. I will definitely come again🥹🙏🏻
Very delicious food. The owner helped us order gluten-free dishes, which were delicious. Especially the typical one that they cook in front of you in a kind of ceramic vase.
What a beautiful place, gorgeous food, really attentive friendly welcome and service.
Catered to my gluten free request.
We can highly recommend and look forward to returning soon.

Great appetizers! Great service! A warm and friendly environment! I will stop by every time I go to Istanbul! Also, many thanks to the service chef who offered me gluten-free bread due to my allergy!

We went for iftar, but we chose ala carte instead of the iftar menu. Everything we ate was incredibly delicious. The service was very fast. It is a place that has already proven itself, and this branch is very enjoyable. Shashlik, alinazik (kebab), küşleme were amazing. I will also try lahmacun and stuffed meatballs next time. Among the desserts, kunefe and katmer were preferred. Katmer's presentation was very enjoyable. They took care of my gluten sensitivity and are very good at veganism too. Thank you for everything!
Very good pizza, really kind staff who were also attentive to food intolerances, they directed me to gluten-free products, preparing them with particular attention

I came because of a gluten-free travel blog's recommendation. Very bad experience in that regard. I tried to explain myself in English about my illness. I was not understood. I took out my piece of paper in Turkish describing my illness and explaining what gluten is. They offered me vegan pasta. Come on, you have no idea what gluten is. And it seems that they don't know how to understand what they read either. Plus, not a single person in the entire place spoke English, which made everything much more difficult. I don't usually comment here, but the experience has been so bad that I want to warn future celiacs from thinking about going.
