Fantastic selection of gluten-free options, with only a few non-GF items on the menu. The staff is well-informed about gluten allergies and Coeliac disease. They also have gluten free beer (Daura).
This wasn’t our first choice for lunch today, however as we had to walk out of the TAVUS lounge and grill at Brighton Marina as they couldn’t cater for a coeliac, absolutely no idea of this food allergy.
But on reflection they did us a favour as the Walrus was stumbled upon and their whole menu can be adapted to a coeliac and gluten free diet, I can’t tell you how refreshing this was for someone with a serious dietary requirement. The staff and atmosphere is amazing and so welcoming.
A must visit establishment for a tasty meal, reasonably priced and good knowledge of their menu. Thank you for making our lunch a special one.

First visit with my friend, which was vibrant and lively from the moment we stepped through the door. Every staff member was welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable. My gluten intolerance was catered for beautifully with swap outs in the small plates food experience menu. The food was wonderfully presented and absolutely delicious. Our wine choice of a chenin blanc complimented all the plates. Highly recommend, and will return soon.
We go in here for lunch on quieter midweek days. Good food and drink choices for vegan and gluten intolerant people. The place also has great baby change facilities on the same level as the restaurant.
Fabulous place to eat in Brighton, after walking across the road from the Brighton museum, we both had the Moules Fritte and a crème brûlée dessert all available in Gluten Free for my wife. Excellent service and whilst left alone, well serviced too.
Wonderful meal last night at terre à terre - the food was excellent, drinks delicious and they catered immaculately for my boyfriend who has a gluten allergy. The service really made the night though - you're welcomed like old friends and made to feel valued throughout. A really lovely experience.
This place invites to a great evening with family and friends. And quite fun too, as you enjoy wonderful indian dishes while sitting on a swing (yes, you read correctly). For all in need of glutenfree food, you find lots to choose between here. A special thank you to Michael for his welcoming service and glimt in his eye. We will be back ;)
Although the inside of the burger was tasty, there wasn't enough of it to withstand the over dry rock hard gluten free bun which was an extra 50p. Such a shame. For a tenner, I expected more, Not a film prop. Feel like I just ate a dried out sink sponge. Sort the gluten free buns out please 🙏 they're gross
They have lots of gluten free options on their menu, a good variety and the food is fantastic! All the classic Thai dishes plus more! I said I was coeliac and they took it on board and everything was ok! A relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff.
We had some very tasty italian meals in a lovely environment. The pasta was fresh and the gluten free option was cooked well. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
Good thing is all the soy sauce is gluten free - which is fantastic and excellent for me. My gripe is that it feels a bit chaotic and there isn't enough quality sashimi on the menu. I actually prefer ordering from the slightly different menu they have on deliveroo.
Really good food and service. Was a bit chaotic to start but they recovered well (very busy early evening - recommend coming a bit later). Food was excellent and good gluten-free options. Very friendly staff. Good wine selection. Would definitely come again.
Pizza express is certified by Coeliac UK, they provide gluten free pizza's that are very nice (however small to medium size only), they have gf dough balls and pasta dishes too. Gf peroni is available in bottles.
First visit for a few years. The gluten free options have definitely improved and the new premises has a nice atmosphere, decent wine list too. Overall very pleasant place for lunch, Will be back.
I don't like to write bad reviews but I was very disappointed with my experience. As a person who works in the service industry myself I will say our main waitress for the evening was so lovely and the only reason I'm giving 2 stars and a high service rating because she was running around and ensuring things were okay with us and had great customer service. I tipped her but wanted it only to go to her. I also overhead some conversations and didn't feel she is talked to very nicely by higher management.
A couple days before coming in we checked whether the restaurant could do gluten free items in which they said yes pastas and pizzas can be made gluten free. We were told just to walk in when we wanted a table and there was no need to book but when we got there on the day we asked for a table and had to wait 45 minutes for one. We decided to book the table anyway.
We ordered and I said to our main waitress I couldn't have gluten or lactose (milk products) so I would need to make some changes on the pizza to accommodate this and there was no issue when ordering. We then waited a while before a manager come over and said that I could make these changes but because I had made the minor changes (the cheese as I can't have this) they couldn't guarantee it was gluten free/lactose free which was confusing and left me worried, I asked what this meant and was just met with the same explaination. I understand in service places you may have some cross contamination but I was not told this was the reason but I assumed in this case it was. (I had looked through a matrix book for allergies)
It then took a while for drinks to come. When my partner's meal came out it was more slammed down by another waiter (not our main one) whether this is an accident I'm not sure but he did not have the same attitude with the other tables. The food was okay and pretty standard, not really worth the price due to the gluten free base being very small. It was a shame really because I was looking forward to it and I specificially checked beforehand... I hope some improvements can be made from this as others with allergies who don't work in the service industry may be confused.
My good friend and went for an impromptu pizza on Friday night. Were both vegan and my friend is gluten free. We were served by Jazz who has such a warm, open and vibrant personality. She was so attentive and accommodating and made our dining experience really special and memorable. Telling us how valued, supported and cared for she is as an employee (seems rare these days) she was clearly very happy in her work. The food was delicious and all of the staff waved us off when we leff. We felt like we'd been to a family celebration - we were so warmly received and looked after! Thank you so much to Jazz and the rest of the team. Jen n Bek x 😊
UNLABELLED PEANUTS. I had a very painful allergic reaction to the mole sauce on the enchilada that did not have allergens listed by the dish. Not familiar with mole sauce, I didn't expect there to be peanuts in an enchilada. When I asked the staff if there were nuts in the dish (after I started having an allergic reaction) they said no, just sesame. After being extremely ill for the remainder of the evening, I re-looked at the menu online to find that in the fine print at the bottom of the menu, in a big block of text, they say the mole sauce has peanuts in it. This is not good enough. It's really dangerous. I called the manager to express how important it is that the menu be labelled clearly and I was told that I hadn't paid attention when reading the menu. And he then aggressively demanded to know who had served me, as if to pin all the blame on the waiting staff. As well as demanding my phone number so he could Whatsapp me pictures of his menu. Of course I had read the menu as I'm very allergic. It had (GF) beside the enchilada for gluten free, as I told him on the phone, but no (N). To make sure I wasn't crazy, I searched online again and found that there is in fact no (N) beside the enchilada at all on the most up to date menus. There was an (N) on a menu from 4 years ago but someone has clearly decided to remove it. It's just extremely dangerous. Especially for a dish that isn't famous for containing potential nut allergens. It is also unacceptable to then blame the customer and other staff members (who were lovely) instead of accepting responsibility and taking the note to update the menus.
The rest of the staff were exceptional, some clearly very new - but wonderful and attentive. The food itself was nice. The atmosphere and experience fun and relaxed. It's just such a shame that the menu caused so many dangerous problems and the management were so exceptionally rude. The sole reason for the rating lands on the latter.
Food was good. Had a gluten free cake and soya hot chocolate. Orange and cinnamon polenta cake was so tasty. Would recommend it.
Didn't find many food places that did soya milk in this location.
Service was a bit slow but apart from that all good. Would dine here again.
I came to this lovely restaurant with a group of friends, and although we didn’t have a booking they gave us a table outside. For starters I had padron peppers and the garlic prawns - both of which were great and had lovely flavours! Others on the table ordered different tapas plates, all of which looked amazing. For my main I shared the chicken and chorizo paella, which unfortunately was underwhelming. The flavour was okay, but the rice tasted undercooked, and for the price (£18 per person) I was expecting it to be much better. The waiters had really good allergy awareness and there were lots of gluten free options for me as a coeliac. Overall we still had a great time and I would go back.
