I have been worried about dining out since being newly diagnosed. This was my first experience and it was great and has made me feel a whole lot better about things. They have a dedicated GF menu and the GF dishes come out with markers which fills you with confidence that they have been prepared in an uncontaminated way. We had chicken fajitas. The chicken was a little bit overcooked but overall it wasn’t bad. My Husband ordered a gluten-free beer. It was the best he’s had on our travels. I think it was called the stinking hen. The best part of the whole experience was the Romanian waiter/owner not quite sure. My partner and I had dinner here with my parents as the restaurant is ideally located just 5mins walk from Mayflower theatre. We always struggle to find a restaurant with plenty of options as my parents are vegetarian and celiac respectively but that was not a problem at La Tavernetta. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was cosy and felt authentic and we all had a lovely experience. The owner took personally tended to our table and his service was so pleasant and charming, it was lovely to hear about the history of this family owned business. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quality, reasonably priced meal (lunch or dinner) and we will definitely come again if in the area.
