I ordered a gluten-free margarita pizza (gluten sensitive) and it was delicious! A little overcooked in my opinion, but I also understand that it’s hard to work with GF dough when it has barely any moisture. I’ve never been to a pizza place where I could choose either a traditional GF crust or Cauliflower Crust. If I’m back in KC I will want to see how the Cauliflower crust is!!
One of the most yummy noodle restaurants I've ever experienced! The Drunken Noodles(gluten-free) were to die for delicious... a perfect portion size and tailored to my spice-level desire.
Gluten free menu was very clear and outlined the items with a risk of cross contamination very clearly! I felt confident eating here and the burger was so good!
Eaten here before and it was great, however this time I got food from them-the picture shows- how much the quantity of an almost $10 salad was. In can't have gluten and said that but they didn't adhere to that...and my medium rare steak was super well done.
My husband and I are club members (for about 6 months) and have dined here once prior today. Both experiences were great, but today was exceptional!! Our waitress, Jaden Rain, was very helpful and just the right amount of attentive. She gave helpful insight to the menu and even offered me gluten free bread before the meal (I had no clue that was even an option). Our meals were delivered quickly, were generous portions, reasonably priced, and were incredibly delicious. I was blown away by the gluten free pre-meal bread. It was warm, soft, sweet, and so tasty. The other two non-GF people eating with me agreed that it was very tasty. The GF menu was extensive, including 5 dessert options. Additionally, we feel like the wine club membership is really worth all the perks that come with it, even coming from people who don't maximize the benefits each month. Will absolutely be back and we are grateful for the amazing service we received from Jaden today! And 10/10 for gluten friendly options!
(Photos include my gluten free meal - pre-meal GF bread and GF Thai wraps (after I'd devoured them, haha!))
Stopped here on cross country road trip to experience true Kansas City BBQ.
Ordered The Taste of Kansas City platter to share. We subbed the 1/2 chicken with a chicken breast because 2 of us are gluten free and their half chicken is NOT gluten free.
Fries are not GF and our waiter said none of the chicken is GF including the wings. I asked if the wings can come plain and he said no.
The coleslaw is amazing and our favorite. Well chopped, not sour/bitter. More like sweet with celery seed.
Family liked the brisket the best.
Honey glazed Baby Back Ribs and pulled pork were good. Slightly dry.
Had beans and coleslaw sides. The beans were good too.
Two of our family is no gluten free. One had kids chicken fingers and fries - all good. They share onion rings. Are 4 between the two of them. They were high quality, thick cut and enjoyed
An overall good stop.
Sause has MSG it's listed on the label. Why they promote other rubs and such as being MSG/gluten free when the saude has it is beyond me - I'll have to skip.
As a girl with a german grandmother and someone who loves eating german cuisine, this is the most authentic in the KC area. Always delicious and transports me back to Ansbach each bite. Family favorite, including my mom who has a gluten allergy!
Pizza as good. Staff was chill. Gluten free isn’t worth the cost for the size to me…Don’t be hungry if you’re splitting it. It got LOUD at 3pm so we wrapped up earlier. It was first Friday but it seems
Nice place to get a burger and specialty fries. Freddy's Sauce is really good and a great twist on the shoestring fries they serve. Our Food was served relatively fast and hot. They offer a lettuce wrap for all the sandwiches for those with a gluten allergy. If you like Sunday's, they have a pretty good Turtle Sunday.
We were able to sit outside and if you are worrying about gluten allergy, this restaurant takes great care to keep the prep stations separate to keep from cross contamination.

I ordered a gluten free pizza due to an allergy, and apparently they manually reenter the orders at this location. Sent me a pizza with original crust, and didn't appear to really care. Why you would offer allergen-friendly food, and then have someone manually override it by entering it into another system is beyond me. I'll stick to the SW Blvd location.
i had coleslaw baked potato and a barbecue sandwich. the coleslaw and potato was great. i have a gluten allergy and the sandwich started to upset my stomach. pretty sure it was the gf bun.
The girl who took my order over the phone was well educated on Celiac and advised me that their gluten free pizza crusts are pre packaged and that they change gloves before preparing them. They do go in the same oven but they are placed on a clean plate which is great! They're gluten free pizza is awesome, awesome customer service too!
Absolutely the worst "italian" ever. Went for my daughter's birthday, had reservations for 7. We got there the place was empty, should have been the first sign to leave, the staff were all on their phones, and not an italian to be seen. The cast iron the lasagna was served on smelled like dish soap and the lasagna itself tasted like fish. The gluten free was salty and overcooked. The carbonara was undercooked and the sauce was bland. The only thing that was remotely decent was the 6 hour sauce pasta, which was really just a basic speghetti and meatballs in a wheat thickened sauce (grandma would roll in her grave at that cheap attempt at a good sauce). We only saw the staff a few times and the never failed to put an elbow in somones face. To call it the McDonald's of Italian would be an insult to McDonald's. Save your money and eat anywhere else.
Dined in during our staycation with Collin as our Server. Very timely and helpful. Josh the GM stopped by and checked on us, we really appreciate managers checking in on us. The helping of food we got for the cost was perfect. If you have restrictions as far as Vegetarian or Gluten Free they do have these options, we did not use, but it sounds like they take this seriously when brought to their attention.
Yard House is an absolute gem, especially for gluten-free diners! I had their gluten-free burger with special sauce, and it was hands down the best gluten-free burger I’ve ever had. The patty was juicy, and the gluten-free bun was perfectly soft and held together well, which is rare! The special sauce added such a delicious touch, and everything about the meal was spot on. The atmosphere is lively and fun, and the staff is always friendly and attentive. If you’re looking for a great gluten-free meal, Yard House is definitely the place to go! Highly recommend!
Artegos is a great pizza spot in KC! The restaurant itself is great - full of great art and good service. Tonight I tried the gluten free (GF) pizza since my GF boyfriend was in town. He said he was really good for being GF. It’s pretty small though so if you have a big appetite, keep this in mind! Their original crust is amazing! No pics of that in this review but if you can eat gluten - get that original crust for sure! Artegos wings are also outstanding. Crispy and flavorful! Would always recommend a visit to Artegos if you’re looking for awesome pizza!
Courtney was amazing, she answered all my questions and didn’t seem annoyed. I felt bad about all I asked. I’m gluten free. She was beyond helpful, I’d recommend Courtney if you go into the zona Rosa Red Robin . She’s awesome!!! She’ll deal with your crazy questions. I don’t even know her so this is a true review.
Day 1: Sat at the bar and had a great experience. The bartender was attentive and got my order just right — egg drop soup, shrimp dumplings, and salmon with gluten-free fried rice and broccoli. Everything was fresh and flavorful.
Day 2: Dined at a table, and unfortunately, my order wasn’t quite right. A bit disappointing, but I’d like to believe it was just an off day.
Still, overall a solid spot, especially when everything clicks. Would go back!
The food was delicious! The happy hour sangria was yummy and a great deal! Our server and the manager were welcoming and our food was brought out in a reasonable time. The bread as an appetizer was also very tasty. The bathroom was clean (which says a lot for someone visiting a restaurant for the first time). I also appreciate the history of the restaurant being that it has been in Kansas City for almost five decades and enjoy reading about how the restaurant came about and has stayed in business. This also says a lot about the food and the service being they have stayed in business for so long. There are gluten free options which my mom appreciated. The salad was yummy and so was the ham and bean soup. I also really appreciated that the parking was free and there were plenty of spots. This is not always the case in a downtown area. Good portions as well. I'm looking forward to the leftovers for my lunch as I write this review.
Gram and Dun is my new favorite restaurant! My girlfriend and I went for our anniversary and were pleasantly surprised. We went on a Saturday so I ordered the 76ers sushi roll and she ordered a salad with salmon. Both 10/10 meals. Great server... Thanks Derek!! They have a few gluten free options but not many however all such food.
Brisket melt is amazing! Tender beef, cooked perfectly. The sourdough bread it's served on is also fantastic. My only complaint is that they charge $3 more for gluten free bread, which one person in our party ordered. I do understand an upcharge, but $3 seems excessive.
Had informed my waitress I was celiac and need everything gluten free. Ordered the BLT taco asking to make it gluten free, waitress didn’t inform me that it can’t be made gluten free. The taco came out and I was unaware it still had beer battered bacon on it. I took a bite and realized it wasn’t safe.
I’m now dealing with the consequences of eating gluten as someone with Celiac. In addition, my family member had ordered something and requested no sauce. That request also wasn’t met, it came out with sauce.
Josiah was great server, the food was great. Our daughter 15, had lasagne, my spouse had Fra diavolo, and I gluten free pasta w/marinara. All was fantastic. Definitely recommend.
Chaz on the Plaza is definitely a must try. The atmosphere, service and food were all great quality and is a wonderful experience for that special night, or just a high class evening.
I'll preface this review with a couple of special notes.
First, we attended our reservation at 6PM. While the restaraunt had patrons it certainly wasn't in full swing yet, so there was absolutely no wait for us when it came to practically anything. Definitely a great thing, but your milage may vary.
Secondly, there was some concern about gluten free options, as these aren't labelled on the menu anywhere. I won't leave you in suspense here, Lacey, our server, was an absolute expert on this and was able to ensure that all of our needs here were met without any issue, offering options and modifications to the menu that we would have never guessed. More on that below.
To start, this was out 20th anniversary and I"ve been looking for somewhere with some decent atmosphere in the area that really isn't just drinks at a lounge. Don't get me wrong, KC has some absolutely amazing lounges, but dinner at a space that can provide atmosphere, gluten free options (that aren't just salad and water), and food that is good can be a struggle. On top of that some places can get exhaustively loud.
Chaz on the Plaza met us on every mark. The food, a "Duke" Wellington and a Pan Seared chicken, with the Cheese plate and Truffle Devilled Eggs for apps, were good. Some notes on dietary restrictions in the applicable sections. Cost here is definitely something to prepare for. At an easy average of $30-40+ per plate for a main and everything else around $10+ we saw a decent bill at the end of the night. That said, we certainly plan to enjoy a night there again. The atmosphere was nice. Quiet with live jazz played at a respectible volume that added to the ambiance without feeling like you had to yell over it. Noting that it was our anniversary in our reservation, the team went out of their way to add personal touches and honestly started the night off great.
Food:
Here's what you came for. Honest review, the food was good. I'd give it a 7 out of 10. While the food was good, I don't feel the flavors were bold enough in some cases. The Duke Wellington is not a classic beef wellington, but more of a "roast" than a steak. The Pan seared chicken was reported to be excellent. I will say that there are some combinations and flavors that were unexpected all around from the topping on the potatoes to the use of vinegars in the meals. Overall these were well recieved and added a different complexity that was well enjoyed.
The cost, as noted above, does come in a bit on the higher end so be sure to review the menu before hand.
Drinks:
The Bar is clearly well stocked and proficient. Sampling the Hazy Hayden and the Apple Spiced Martini, I will say there was a clear favorite in the Hayden. A smoked whiskey cocktail, this drink tastes as good as it smells, and the theater with it is definitely enjoyable. The Apple spiced martini was good, but definitely a second to the Hayden. With drinks around $10 at the time of this review, the bar runs on average the same cost you'd find in most places.
Overall a good time and we look forward to coming back!
First here during restaurant week. Food and service were both awesome. Going to add to our rotation of restaurants to go to. Accommodated for gluten free options!
The only time I went to TikiTaco on 39th Street was on July 16, 2022. The vibe at the place is meant to be a chill and laid back Mexican street food joint dishing out the California take on Mexican food, also known as Mexicali-style food. With an upbeat atmosphere, TikiTaco unites their customers together with quality food at its neighborhood taco joint. The storefront at TikiTaco features a walk- up window for takeout orders or when customers want to sit on the patio outside.
The concept for the menu at TikiTaco is quite unique with options for tacos, burritos, bowls, desserts, and other Mexican dishes along with alcoholic beverages served blended or or thin. Some of the menu items at TikiTaco are also inspired by Polynesian cultures of food too. In case customers want to follow dietary or health-related plans, TikiTaco features vegetarian and gluten free menu items. The thing I ordered at TikiTaco was the Thai Chili Pork burrito and I had it with a drink of Horchata. My food at TikiTaco tasted really good, and I would visit again for more of their interesting dishes features on their menu.
We decided to go to Jazz: A Louisiana Kitchen for dinner again. I ordered the blackened catfish with veggies and rice. I made the mistake of not requesting the 1/2 order. The full order is huge but delicious. And it was naturally gluten-free.
My unit at work (about 30-40) met here for lunch before a company meeting. There is ample seating inside and outside. There are two floors with seating and food choices on each floor. There is a large variety in the types of foods. Some options are Mediterranean, Mexican, pizza, and burgers.
There are also bars on both floors with many options. My coworkers seemed to be able to order their favorite drinks. I was very pleased that they could make me a mocktail with a blackberry syrup and tonic water. It was delicious!
I looked at all the menus and there were several gluten free and dairy free options.
In KCMO for a night and it’s always a struggle to find gluten free and vegan options in new places. The kind folks at my hotel recommended this place and it did not disappoint. Super friendly staff, great attitude even though I walked in about 15 min before close. The food was exquisite! I got the falafel + hummus plate and sub’d out pita for veggies, lentil soup + salad. Yum! Highly recommend.
A group of us decided to order pizza for our break at work last night. One of the group has ciliac disease and must have gluten free so I ordered a cauliflower crust pizza for him. I told the person taking the order that I was ordering the cauliflower pizza for someone that had a gluten allergy. There was something wrong with the pizza because he became very ill later that night and was still extremely ill the day after. My friend (I hope he remains my friend) had to go home from work and loose a day of overtime pay due to this. I will not be ordering from this restaurant again and dont recommend anyone with a gluten allergy ever eat here.
There are so many artist’s events here! The Songwriter’s Sanctuary on 3rd Sundays was wonderful. Also, the chai-der and vegan/gluten free crumble bar was very nice.
Our waitress Mary was amazing. The food was just as amazing. We will be back and highly recommend this Denny's.
I have Gluten issues and they handled my needs with kindness and understanding.
