A staple every time I go to Calgary. As a celiac I feel so safe here, staff always take time to make sure I understand what I can/cannot eat. I would say about 80 percent of the menu can be made gluten free including the fried chicken. It’s great to be able to share with friends and not sacrifice taste. Could not recommend more.
At first glance this place wasn't what I was expecting. The cook was super friendly and welcoming. The gluten free chicken was SO GOOD!! I'd definitely have it again. The dynamite roll was ok, the gf breaded shrimps were the star of that dish and the rest were just supporting actors.. thanks
Went to this place for brunch for the first time and had 3 amazing things to note. 1) the coconut chai was to die for and I would return just for that drink alone. 2) the vegan eggs Benedict on falafel was so perfectly savoury and delicious, as someone eating vegan and gluten free, I haven’t had something that covers my dietary restrictions taste so good in a long time. 3) the portion sizes!!! The quesadilla my family had was enormous, the side salads were huge! Amazing to have leftovers for later and even though we ate a lot, we didn’t feel gross after (which we often do with other places) because the ingredients were so clean. The staff were so kind and the restaurant gives cute earthy vibes. Hands down will be going back! (Wish we got photos to share!)
Magnificent,
The experience is incredibly simple, with a massive ordering board, as it should be at a burger shop. Bravo!
I ordered a gluten free double with cheese, lettuce tomato onion and their Clive sauce. The burgers were made to be juicy yet crispy on the edges, just how I like it. They did right by the CARE gluten free bun, as it should be the only valid option in Alberta for buns as they don't crumble and are nice and supple.
The fries are from a dedicated gluten free fryer and are CRISPY. I decided to review them based on the fact that they took care of my dietary needs perfectly, and their hours run late, Wich to catch a gluten free bite after 9 on 17th Ave is seemingly impossible, this place hit the spot. The staff were friendly and took care to both ask me if gluten free is a preference or health need.
We went bc a friend's recommendation and it was worth it.
We had some beers and tried the poutine, which was delicious, crunchy chips and super tasty.
There is gluten free beer.
Wonderful staff. Nice atmosphere. Im a celiac and have other allergies. Our waitress was very knowledgeable on the menu and that most items are Gluten Free. This was our first time visiting and we will definitely be the food. The guacamole is amazing!!!!
Amazing poutine! Attended with a friend from Australia and we were both blown away. We had the Notorious PIG and the Cluster Buck. Wife had a Cluster Buck with vegan cheese and gluten free gravy. Staff was very accommodating to her allergies without issue! Would highly recommend!
I’ve been coming to YYC Pasta Bar since it first opened, & it remains one of my go to spots! I visit at least once a month & it never disappoints. Whether dining in or getting takeout, the portions are generous, the meals & appetizers are always fresh & full of flavor, and the service is consistently friendly & welcoming. They also have great gluten-free and vegetarian options, which makes it easy for everyone to find something they love. Whether you’re craving a classic pasta dish or something new, they always deliver delicious, high-quality food. This is a must visit spot for pasta lovers in YYC! 🥰🍝🇮🇹
I highly recommend this succulent little brunch spot! Lena, our server was a doll! And looked after us superbly!. I am celiac myself, it’s always nice to find a spot that can cater to someone with severe allergies/sensitivities to food.
We had a great time, the rainbow trout was the table favourite! Every server was very cautious and informative about one of our group members being celiac so it made it an extremely enjoyable experience for us.

My partner and I went here for our anniversary dinner and we were VERY happy with the experience! The vibe is very relaxing, the staff are friendly, the food is amazing in both taste and quality, & they are incredibly attentive to allergies. We ate strictly off of their gluten-free menu (my partner has celiac disease) and we were guided well and thoughtfully through our options and what modifications were made for us to eat safely. We would love to go back and try it all over again!
This place is so cute, and pretty large. Service was great, we went there for a bachelorette dinner. Make a reservation though if it’s a weekend or stampede season! Bathrooms are in the basement so not sure how accessible they are.
Food was great, slightly pricey but there’s a good reason. Our bride to be received a free glass of champagne. Our server was lovely, not pushy or rushing us.
It was really loud in there, mainly due to stampede and weekend, but it was also very busy. Patio is open in the summer.
Allergy friendly to celiacs and peanut/tree nuts!
Went here for my mom’s birthday, not only were the staff lovely and the food was so tasty. There were so many gluten free options, including empanadas, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed!
Great place to go for brunch. Great selection of food and great service. Staff is very knowledgeable about allergy and dietary restrictions thus makes it very reassuring to eat for anyone who has celiac, etc. Highly recommend souffléd pancakes for anyone who is gf to try, AMAZING.
Amazing food, great atmosphere, and fabulous service. We had a pre-set menu with a large group, which was perfect. Unbelievable turkey, brisket, and our gluten-free diners have never had better gravy (they lucked their plates!)We can’t wait to come back again with our team next month!
The place to go for tacos! Food, service & atmosphere were great! They give you a free house shot on your birthday and it's delicious! If you're celiac, very knowledgeable staff and lots of great options that are gluten free!
The best service in downtown Calgary by far, our server Mariem (Mariam?) was super helpful and super kind. She accommodated all our requests as my fiancé can only eat gluten free and his sister is vegetarian. She provided us with all the appropriate menu options and made sure that there was no cross contamination with the meals. She really exceeded our expectations and I've never met a server so accommodating to all our dietary restrictions.
What a great place to stop and have a meal.
They have a very nice patio that's heated.
We had the cheese fondue with sirloin steak for protein. The fondue came with a basket of bread and a plate of veggies. They also gave us potato chips as one we needed a gluten-free option instead of bread.
They are pooch friendly!
This location is arguably the best of the "Blocks". Excellent barbecue as always, huge whiskey selection, great cocktails. What's not to love?
Many gluten free options too! All the BBQ meats are GF and many of the sides are as well. The menu isn't marked, but the servers are informed or will check with the kitchen.

Great menu. Lots of gluten-free and vegan options. Really impressed with that. Service was great too.
The downside is that it seemed they built the restaurant and then remembered they needed bathrooms. They are small and not great. Were I a woman, I would likely want to wait until I went home, as a man, I still wanted to wait to get home. They were tidy but didn't feel like they could ever get "clean", you know what I'm saying?
I would still go back, as cold beer helps me forget....
My favooooouriteeeeee coffee shop in all of Calgary. Coziest place and best for working. It’s like my hidden gem 🥹✨ love their gluten free granola bars so much!!! I get one each week
KAMA has to be one of the best restaurant's in Calgary. Javen and Noah do such a great job, they deliver amazing vibes and hospitality. The food is another level of freshness and quality, and the menu is actually mostly Gluten Free, with a dedicated Gluten Free fryer and no seed oils being used as well. I don't believe they advertise this much, but this restaurant would be a GF persons dream. I have never been disappointed with visit at KAMA. :)
Not safe for anyone with allergies, especially celiac where all grains can cause an immune response in advanced cases.
I asked the guy working there if the GF bun had rice in it and he was fully confident it didn’t. I shouldn’t have trusted him.
We will never be going back here. Horrible business. Why not just be honest? I would have happily had the lettuce wrap to save myself all of the pain and internal break down of my system.
I came here for a party of 4 birthday dinner and I found it pleasant despite my complete lack of Thai food experience. I’m celiac so that always narrows my choices at any restaurant but I found the server to be knowledgeable. She also confirmed each dish ordered and brought to the table to be GF or not for me, as our table did a bit of sharing.
I believe I had the Salmon Paang dish and some steamed rice. The rice with any of the dishes seemed to be a necessary addition, otherwise the dish was more plain (just the sauce and whatever meat or veg combo) and too small of a portion, at least for me. Sharing worked out well portion wise for our table, we were too full to try dessert.
The food was really tasteful with good textures and flavours and it’s a smaller restaurant with a nice interior so it wasn’t overly loud at all either. Overall good experience, I’d come back on my own dime probably for a special occasion
I got The Quickie with a gluten free bun + add tomato. Was around 13$. This sandwich was HUGE.. the eggs were cooked well and fluffy could have used a little salt and maybe some pepper, the bun needed to be toasted more, but was delicious. The sauce was good and the cheese was perfectly melty. Would try some others in the future! Also came with a free chocolate chip cookie (not GF, but I gave it to my coworker)
Food and service is always amazing! Love that there are great gluten free options , my husband is celiac. They always able to accommodate my husbands food allergy. This is now our go to spot for amazing platters and wraps! Highly recommend!!!!
It is hard to find a better sushi place in Calgary than Midori. You can really tell there is passion and care from everyone involved for their craft; they are a must try for anyone who lives in or is visiting Calgary.
As the name suggests they are a quaint Japanese-styled sushi restaurant that works hard to present items in an elegant fashion. Their selection is truly diverse and refined, and of the many times I’ve been there, all of their menu items have never disappointed. The sushi was all outstandingly fresh and delicious. Their in-house special salad was crisp, clean, and refreshing, and quickly became one of my favorite food items. It is also made completely gluten free.
This is one of those restaurants that, anytime I visit, I am always left satisfied!

Went to this place with a friend specifically for gluten free drinks and food they advertised. After pointing to every gf tagged item on the menu and told "no sorry that can't be made gluten free" we paid our bill and left.
Food was very good but the service was horrible. Did not even come close to warranting the automatic 20% tip that was added to our bill. We felt completely ignored by our waiter… it was also frustrating because when I went inside to use the washroom and there was not as a single person dining inside- I’m not sure why the service was so terrible to be honest. Also extremely disappointed by the drinks- they were sooo watered down. Even though they were discounted they literally were just juice in a cup entirely filled with ice. Not one person in our group was even a tiny bit tipsy after like 4 or 5 drinks each. Also our friend specifically requested gluten free buns but was brought regular buns and told that he could take the burgers apart if he wanted to… and then was still charged for the burgers they got wrong. For a real allergy this is something they should take extremely seriously and it’s crazy to me that they didn’t. Would not recommend!!!!!!!!! There are restaurants to either side that are way better.
