My wife has been wanting to try this place for a little while now! It was worth the wait! She found out about it on Tic Toc!
We had an awesome meal with all the dips!
This place is 100% gluten free. My wife is just figuring out about gluten and she had a complete worry free dinner!!
We had the Dip Dip Dip hooray and we tried 4 different kinds of tacos!
Well priced, amazing service and the food is absolutely amazing! 10/10!!
10/10. The fish tacos are my #1 choice, always. Such a great experience at the Burlington location, our server was so attentive and did a remarkable job accommodating our daughters gluten allergy.
Went in toray with my kids and husband to celebrate my 29th birthday and joe was amazing not only did he make us feel great he accommodated towards my daughters celiac diease and would double check on everything for her
Incredible experience! We had Sebastian as our server and he was fantastic!
Amazing atmosphere, service, food, prices and experience. Great gluten free options as well!. Highly recommend!!
CAUTION IF YOU HAVE FOOD ALLERGIES!!!
1 week ago today I was at this location and ordered from the gluten free menu. Coconut Curry bowl chicken. The waitress assured me that this was gluten free. 40 minutes later I was extremely sick! The next day I called and spoke to the manager and they were very apologetic and we're going to send me an email with the free meal for the next time. I received no email and I definitely will not be returning!!! Check your spices and don't use spices that may contain wheat or gluten!! If you have a gluten problem I would avoid this restaurant all together they are not transparent. Thankfully I didn't go into anaphylactic shock. Zero stars on how poorly this was handled. I will also add the dirty plate that was given to my daughter with the celery carrots and apples!!.. I sure hope they're not reusing food and plates!
This place is absolutely amazing.
I have Celiac and there are SO many gluten-free options!
My absolute favorite is the crispy fried fish tacos.
The staff is very knowledgeable and super friendly and this place has turned into my favorite restaurant in the city. All of the margaritas are amazing but their hibiscus is by far the best one.
You could order anything and not be disappointed here.
A Must-Visit in Burlington, ON
My best friend and I had our first dinner at Loondock’s in Burlington and it absolutely won us over. We're both foodies (one gluten-free, one not), and the staff (Shout out to Leslie) who went above and beyond to accommodate us. Our server was friendly, well-informed, and truly knowledgeable about Celiac Disease and gluten-free safety, which made a huge difference in our experience.
The kitchen even split every shared dish so we could each enjoy them safely. That kind of thoughtful service is rare.
Here’s what we ordered and LOVED:
🦆 Duck on Taro Chip: perfectly cooked, tender, and packed with flavor.
🧀 Baked Brie: gooey, rich, served hot in a cast iron skillet with tons of tasty dipping options.
🥩 Pork Tenderloin: juicy, well-seasoned, and roasted to perfection.
🍮 Pro Tip: Get the French Toast Crème Brûlée: you won’t regret it. Sweet, creamy, caramelized, and unforgettable.
This place is a hidden gem in Burlington with upscale dishes, cozy vibes, and top-tier service. Whether you're gluten-free or not, Loondock’s delivers a memorable and delicious dining experience.
Highly recommend, we’ll be back soon!

Came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty busy. Thankfully able to find seating to accommodate 7 of us. Food and drinks came out pretty quick and everyone liked or love their drink or food selection. A lot of gluten free options to choose from. Would recommend for coming here for a coffee, catch up with friends or studying.
Mark at the bar is incredible! We had a reservation at a table but got there early so we sat at the bar. We decided to forgo our reservation and sit and spend our evening with this amazing gentlemen.
I'm celiac and he went above and beyond to let me know what I could and couldn't have and made sure my entree was safe!
We've been here a bunch of times but this by far was our best experience. Not only the staff but the food was phenomenal.
Plus it was our anniversary and he made sure to bring us a Gluten free treat as a congratulations
This place feels like home. Thank you Mark and staff for the experience 😊
Had a tasty frittata for lunch, with an espresso & gluten-free bread. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing, and the service was great, so we decided to stay for dessert. The flourless chocolate cake was quite rich, which was nicely paired with fresh fruit and whipped cream. Would definitely return!

Turtle Jack’s is a solid spot I’ve been to multiple times, often before a weekly event with a friend. The burgers are consistently good, and the staff are always friendly. The atmosphere is cozy, and pricing is reasonable for what you get.
One standout item I’d recommend is their New York Style burger—it comes with a thick slice of bacon or cold cut, and it’s seriously delicious. They also offer a gluten-free menu, which is helpful if you ask for it.
Overall, it’s a reliable and comfortable place to grab a bite in the area.
Outstanding Service and Meal! Friendly and attentive service staff that goes over and above for the perfect experience. The food is second to none, with Vegetarian and Gluten Free Options. The Oven Roasted Salmon practically melted in my mouth with a blend of sweet, spicy and savory. My friend ordered the feature Butternut Squash Ravioli and loved every morsel.
First time.eating here was meaning to come for a while. It was so amamzing fresh . The tacos are huge. Fresh and tasty cant wait to go back. Pickled onions are amazing. I also got his moms xmas cookies they look amazing. Im gluten free so could have the tacos. Could be the beat taco i have had in the city for sure
Newly renovated. Very fresh. Excellent menu. Good gluten free options. At lunch the booth was quiet enough for conversation with our friends. Prompt attentive service. Plan to visit again.
Really nice restaurant. I got the blackened chicken burger on gluten free bun. Had to request waitress to ensure it was also dairy free. They accommodated my dietary restrictions really well and I really enjoyed the burger. They do tend to be busy so better to book ahead a table for yourself.
Excellent gluten-free pizza here! Had a wonderful dinner here with our family, where we sat outdoors and enjoyed the nice weather on the patio. Food was great, service was good (despite how busy it was) & Phoebe was lovely! Good time, would return again. The only downside was the bugs later into the evening, while sitting outside (which is understandable, given how close the restaurant is to the lake). Wonderful views though!
Had a dinner on the terrace recently. Excellent environment out there in the evening. Different vibe than inside which had a bit more energy (e.g. less leisurely). Thought the wine list was good. The crab cakes could do with a bit more seasoning and aioli. The entrees were a good size. The chocolate mousse also very yummy. They were able to accommodate a gluten free requirement on most dishes.
Would return.
I hope this was just a one time experience but I felt that I needed to make a review. As someone who has celiac, it is really hard for me to eat out and I had heard great things about the food and the staff at this restaurant for accommodating for celiac people. Trust me, I know the whole spiel about there not being a guarantee about no gluten due to cross contamination but I was fine to try from the reviews I had seen on some gluten free review apps. Unfortunately, when we got there, the host (who was also the bartender) wasn't very pleased to see us, but hey, everyone has bad days. He sat us in a nearly empty restaurant other than another table so I had high hopes about the ability for my food to be made celiac safe. When we came over, he was really unfriendly and honestly I just tried to give him the benefit of the doubt until it came to our order.
As I was trying to order, I have to tell people about my allergies because celiac is severe and I have nut allergies too that... yk... can kill me. As I was trying to explain to him that I have celiac, he cut me off in the middle rolling his eyes saying the whole thing about how they can't guarantee anything. This was not only rude but also belittling. Then I asked if the fries were gluten free as in are they cooked in the same fryer as gluten containing items (since it reads GLUTEN FREE on the menu when it isn't gluten free it is gluten FRIENDLY which is not for anyone with celiac or allergies so it shouldn't say that) and he cut me off again saying it was in a fryer that had gluten items so no I couldn't do that. Again, the tone was so unwelcoming and all we wanted was to explain my situation to the waiter. I further asked about the Mexican street corn salad (again, labelled GF) and he said very passive aggressively "well does it sayyy gluten free" I said "yes" and he responded "then it is." I was shocked and also sad like I am not someone who makes reviews and I know how bad restaurants are accommodating for gluten free BUT if you can't you can't! I'm not going to complain when staff can communicate that they have too much cross contamination or they aren't safe for me to eat that is fine. What ISN"T fine it belittling a 20 year old girl for trying to explain her allergies, dismissing her and not letting her finish her sentences and trying to do the order as fast as possible so he could continue to talk to another worker at the bar and play on his phone in an AGAIN nearly empty restaurant.
I really do want to eat here, especially because I have heard good things about food and staff! However, it just totally made me disappointed and scared to return because I don't want to be made to feel like that in situations where I shouldn't be. I am just as deserving of being served and served safely as anyone else. I didn't catch his name but I really hope he doesn't treat anyone else like that because that was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant - my partner and I just ended up packing the food away and leaving. This is my experience and my experience alone. I am in no way saying not to eat here, I really did hear great things and still do from my loved ones, but for me as someone with celiac disease, this was beyond hurtful

Fabulous gluten and sugar free treats. I love their ham and cheese croissants.
The coffee is also outstanding.
Also the patrons at this place are very nice.
This young man is an absolute legend and this chip truck is an institution. Just shared a large poutine which was massive - the chips are thick cut to hold up to the weight of the cheese and combat any risk of sogginess from the gravy. Absolutely perfect. My wife is celiac so unfortunately the gravy is not gluten free but they use a dedicated fryer for the chips. We brought it home and used our own GF brown gravy. So delicious. 10/10 highly recommend. My ONLY gripe would be that they don’t accept credit card - however he does accept email money transfer which is a great alternative for a cash/debit only setup
The menu looks to be revamped recently BUT there are no indicators for Gluten Free on the menu. They do have GF flat breads and burger buns so that was a plus.
Went to this establishment on Friday June 28 2024. We have never tried this restaurant but were early for lunch which gave my wife the opportunity to ask about gluten free options (celiac). The server reassured my wife that the kitchen was very careful when cooking for a person with celiac. When my wife’s appetizer came she questioned the preparation of the dish. The server spoke to the kitchen and we were told that “the boys” only usually work at night and she had the dish redone. (A clean pan was not used) Long story short, my wife was glutened which makes her sick for about 3 weeks. I ordered a the fresh turkey sandwich which was made with cheap smelly deli meat. If you are celiac please don’t eat there as the kitchen has zero concern for dietary issues. Will never go back
Super.Great Steaks service was tremendous.I.have celiack disease went above and beyond to.make my Birthday Dinner Special.From.out of town. Will visit again when.i come back.
Tried CIMA midweek for family dinner. Food was great, service was great, restaurant comfortable, prices reasonable. We had a mix of pizza/pasta with one being gluten free. Feedback from all was amazing. Will be back!
## District Kitchen and Bar: Great Wings, Consider Gluten-Free Options!
**Friendly Service and Safe Wings:**
District Kitchen and Bar impressed with their attentive and friendly staff. They were proactive in checking for dietary needs and confirmed their delicious chicken wings are safe for gluten-free diners. This was a huge plus for our visit!
**Winging It:**
The star of the show was definitely the wings! They were excellent and highly recommended. It's something to consider, but the quality of the wings might make it worth it for some.
**Room for Improvement:**
While the staff did confirm the wings themselves are gluten-free, it would be fantastic if the restaurant could expand their gluten-free options to include the sauces. This would make District Kitchen and Bar an even more attractive choice for those with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity.
**Overall Impression:**
Despite the slightly high price point and limited gluten-free sauce options, we very much enjoyed our visit to District Kitchen and Bar. The friendly, accommodating staff and the excellent wings make it a place we'd definitely return to.
**Recommendation:**
This restaurant is perfect for those seeking delicious wings in a welcoming atmosphere. Just be aware that the wings can be pricey, especially for larger appetites. For those with gluten-free needs, double-check sauce options as they may not all be safe.
