Food is great even on the set menu which is photos included during the day with gluten free options and very helpful and knowledgeable about choices have eaten here twice in evening and food was delightful if not set menu it’s bigger portions and we have had a take away can not fault it our favourite Chinese restaurant in the PDC or matagorda area and we have tried alot
Kalma Cafe located in Puerto Del Carmen is certainly a hidden gem and brilliant place for lunch.
There is a widely accessible menu that includes, vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. In particular, there is a great selection of smoothies, juices, soft drinks and alcohol. This menu is able to be viewed online via their website prior to visiting.
I've visited multiple times and had avocado on sourdough bread with salmon, eggs benedict and pancakes. I enjoyed the consistency knowing that every time I'd visit, the meals would be of high quality.
The staff are very friendly and are proficient in English for non-Spanish speakers.
It can be busy however I never had to wait for a table and it's about a ten minute wait for food.
The price is about €10-20 euros a person which is a relatively good price in comparison to places of a similar nature.
I look forward to coming here again on my next holiday!

As a very strict coeliac it was so good to eat Chinese food!! Staff extremely knowledgeable about allergens and advised appropriately. Separate gluten free menu. Food cooked separate and served separate for gf and non coeliac. Staff so friendly, lovely location opposite the beach. Clean too. My son, non coeliac had his food cooked in the seating area by a chef, very impressed with his skills!
Such a pleasure to not have to worry about cross contamination in a resturant.
Well done on your knowledge and THANK YOU SO MUCH!! VERY HAPPY COELIAC .
(GF Chicken & Sweetcorn soup / Chicken Chp Suey & GF chips) All other foods in photos normal not GF.

Views are some of the best I've ever ate at. Make sure you go during sunset. The food was lovely and very reasonable. Drinks were very nice too. They do gluten free pizza and pasta too.
Great location in old town. My wife is Gluten free/Dairy free and had lots of options. The ribs were amazing, a big selection of Mexican authentic foods, service was extremly friendly and we were listened to really well when asking for gluten free options. They take care of you here. Pay it a visit!
We visited this lovely cafe twice during our holiday, as it was one of very few places which caters for coeliacs for both sandwiches and cakes. We had teas, soft drinks, cakes and toasties - the food was always good, with a good range of options. The location is central and quiet, if a little hidden away in a square behind Burger King.
The location is great. However, service was a bit slow, and the food was overpriced. The menu shows wrong allergens, I can not eat gluten, and when I asked, they told me to ignore what the menu said and ask for help.
We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance in Playa de Carmen. The place is beautiful and well-maintained. The staff treated us very cordially. As tourists in the Canary Islands, we ordered wrinkled potatoes with mojo sauce for starters, which were very good. For main courses, we each had a dish. My partner chose a German beef entrecote, and I had rice pudding, which was spectacular.
I 100% recommend this place for its value for money, and they take celiac people into account, as they had bread available.
One of the best Asian restaurants I have been to and not only because of the food but also because of the boss's treatment of his workers. The boss is very friendly and you can see how he leads the work team harmoniously and without altercations. Maybe we think, why does this girl write this? And it is because in practically all Asian restaurants you hear them shouting at each other in the kitchen or having bad gestures towards each other, especially from the bosses towards the workers.
In addition, the waitresses were very attentive at all times about allergies. I asked for rice noodles and not wheat and from there she reasoned that I might have some intolerance, because she brought me the specific gluten-free soy sauce. I have no problem with gluten and it was just for taste, but it was a detail that I found super interesting. Afterwards we chatted with a waiter for a while and he was lovely.
Really, very good. And they have incredible patience for the amount of people who pass by, half of whom you see don't even thank them for the service, others would be burned out, but they are still kind to each person who arrives.
For that alone, it's already a 10!

All the staff attended to us out of 10.
We ordered both the cocktail and the gluten-free desserts. They also gave us to try the house appetizer. Everything exquisite.
Without a doubt, we will return.
Friendly staff, plenty of Gluten free options, hence the recommendations to visit, as I have a really bad allergy, hives, itching and tummy problems unfortunately my fish pie was lacking white fish and prawns, but tasted nice, but it was contaminated as I hadn't eaten out anywhere else that day and have been very unwell since. We won't be returning.
