I loved this restaurant, great outdoor seating and a whole menu of gluten free options. Staff member Margarita was excellent with my allergy and made for a lovely experience.

It's great that we didn't have to book a table. In this chain, it's often possible to come without a reservation.
The atmosphere is very pleasant, the music is not loud. You can easily communicate. I ordered via QR code, for some reason I waited 30 minutes. I ordered poached eggs with salmon. Delicious. I enjoyed it. There is a Gluten Free menu,
Coeliac Review: The GFC nuggets are AMAZING. The fries are also GF and so good.
Only downside is they shut their toilets around 18:30pm which is annoying if you’re eating in.
Best lentil/carrot/ginger loaf I've had! Big shout-out to the young foreign girl who took our order. She had the patience and consideration to ask about every detail pertaining to my condition (I'm coeliac). She really did go the extra mile to help.
I'm truly sorry to say I've forgotten her name so I can thank her publicly, but if she's reading this, she knows 100% who I am ;-)
Can I just say, my partner and I, have traveled extensively around your country (=Poland), from north to south - we always come back with treasured memories. Dziękuję :-)
Thanks a million !! :-)
Me and my girlfriend came here, she is gluten intolerant and it ended up taking around 10 minutes for the staff to even serve me as all i asked for were sweet potato fries i understand as allergies need to be checked although i gave the staff a specific instruction to bring all the food out together, they brought all the food out separately. The chicken was overdone and hard the fino pitta was obviously slung together and it was cold as was my girlfriends chicken which was also extremely rubbery snd difficult to cut overall the food took 30 minutes to come out. Not an enjoyable experience. and the tables we sat at outside had menus and napkins littered all over the floor. poor.
Sent a gluten containing pasta on a Deliveroo order , was ordered as a non gluten one!! Glad I know what it’s supposed to look like and didn’t eat it or I would’ve been horribly sick!!!!!
Second time visiting Cocotte Richmond; first time was great, second time also great. Menu is chicken, steak and burgers, so if that’s your sort of thing, give it a try!
Burgers can be ordered to be cooked as you like, e.g. medium rare for mine. Sign of freshness. They can also be done gluten free.
We ordered two glasses of wine, and they were a bit off their best. No questions asked, the staff open a new bottle for us. Much better.
An absolute gem of a place.
About 10 mins walk from Kew Gardens. I have to eat gluten free for medical reasons and the staff were amazing at making sure i had an enjoyable tasty meal.
Thank you to everyone, front of house and in the kitchen.
Fantastic meal followed by a walk round the Christmas lights at Kew.
A perfect evening. 💕

We had an overnight stay in Richmond and needed somewhere to eat that also catered for gluten free. Came across these guys and felt welcomed, the atmosphere was great, food amazing had a throughly enjoyable visit and if ever back in Richmond I know where to eat !!!! The photo is of the gluten free Shaftesbury Burger 🙂 it was also quiz night when we visited (Sunday 11th May) and was lovely to see a mixed age range and that dogs were also catered for!! Thank you to all the staff 😀
I'd just like to say how exceptional our food and service was tonight. As a person who is allergic to gluten the manager and staff went above and beyond to really make sure I was advised and there was no cross-contamination, despite them being run off their feet! Delicious food and a very welcoming and helpful staff. Thoroughly recommended.
Had the pleasure of dining at cinnamon bazaar in Richmond with my colleagues and had an amazing experience. Drinks were exemplary, menu had so many gluten free options, even naan was gluten free. Will def visit again when I am back in London area. Thanks Arun for the hospitality!
Excellent food and service. They were superb at dealing with our rather awkward allergy requirements (two coeliacs; one with a nut allergy) and were very helpful with suggesting dishes for an eleven year old who thought she hated curries... she thought the food was delicious and is now converted! Highly recommended.
No flexibility on menu, no Gluten free options, pretty dreadful really.
Pretty awful service culture issue in the Gardens as a whole.
Having a nice terrace with a good view and good interior is no substitute for professional catering

A wonderful birthday treat. Impeccable service and quality of food. Loved every moment and really appreciated the extra effort to accommodate for my gluten free coeliac needs.
The food is absolutely amazing!!
I just warn anyone gluten free to not risk it. I went for my birthday and told my server before each dish I had an allergy, and was told it was fine, but by desert, I was served a dish I was told was gluten free and when I was finishing eating it they ran over to tell me it had cookie crumbs on it, which has looked like almond crumbs because there were pieces of almond so I didn’t think anything of it because again I was told it was gluten free before I started eating..I had a stomach ache all evening which wasn’t ideal especially on my birthday. I would stay away if you are quite allergic.
Besides the lacking in allergy training, the food was great, but I would just be cautious if you have an allergy.
For management: please you should have an allergen binder and training for your staff if you are going to claim safe for allergies. There were items labeled gluten free on the menu, like poppadoms, that when I tried to order the staff said they sometimes have gluten, those should not be labeled gluten free. The ice cream I ordered which had cookies on it, was labeled gluten free on the menus and the server said it was fine, but the desert chef did not know what gluten free meant. There needs to be better training or don’t say you are safe for people with allergies.
Also some of the plates were chipped which is not what you would expect from a high end restaurant.
Friendly cafe conveniently located close to Kew Gardens and the station. Delicious coffee (we tried latte and macchiato) - too delicious in fact, as we
had to have seconds! The pistachio cannolo was a hit. We will be back [again!].
[Update following an Nth visit - Try the Torta di Nona or one of the sfogliatelle! And the hazelnut cannolo is as good as the pistachio one (we followed the barista's advice and went for the gluten-free versions of the cannolli]
A bit restrictive for anyone with a food allergy. The folder they presented to me left me with 1 option which wasn’t on the menu. I’m coeliac. However, they accommodated me but I did feel nervous to eat at all after them explaining about there being the chance that everything contained gluten.
5-Star Review for Britannia Pub & Restaurant - A Perfect Sunday Lunch Experience! Birthday 🎂
We had the most wonderful Sunday lunch today at Britannia Pub & Restaurant. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it the ideal setting for a birthday 🎁 celebration. The staff were incredibly attentive throughout our visit, anticipating our needs and ensuring everything was perfect.
The food was simply fantastic. We started with the artichoke soup and tempura prawns, both of which were beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. For mains, we tried a selection of Sunday roasts—both the beef and pork were cooked to perfection, tender and rich, with all the classic trimmings. Every bite was delicious and comforting, exactly what you’d hope for in a traditional British roast.
The whole experience was seamless and enjoyable. Whether you’re after a special occasion or just a lovely Sunday meal, the Britannia truly knows how to make a lunch memorable. Highly recommended! * * * * *
P.S. Two members of our party required gluten-free options, and the Britannia wonderfully accommodated their needs. The gluten-free dishes were equally delightful, showcasing the kitchen's versatility and commitment to all guests.
P.P.S. The icing on the cake (!) was the surprise birthday candle presented with our pudding and coffee. It was a thoughtful touch that made our celebration even more special.
Had a lovely evening with friends. Short walk from the Richmond Railway station. Has outside seating as well. Food was fresh and tasted very good with good presentation. Cocktails and wine were good as well as the desserts. Would have liked to see a gluten free dessert but at least there was a vegan one. Host was very warm and welcoming and graciously let us stay a little past the 2 hour mark after our server made it a point to remind us…our server seemed to be a little less than polite at times even though we were very polite and friendly with him. Overall good experience and service from the other staff was very good. Will be back.

Cute pub, they even have gluten free options. My burger was good, though I would have liked them to ask how I'd like it done, well done is not all people's choice. Other than that very delicious and worth the visit.
