As a person with Celiac, we are always on the lookout for good gluten free food. The GF pizza was delicious! Our waiter told us it was made with rice flour, and my husband (non-celiac) couldn't tell the difference. The entire town of Beaufort has been incredibly GF friendly!
The Beaufort Grocery is five star in every area. The food was beyond amazing. Our server was so attentive to every detail. The atmosphere was perfect. Reservations are recommended. As a side note, I am gluten free and he menu was clearly marked, the waitress knowledgeable and one of the managers has celiac. Highly recommended. Pictures below is my Gf pork chop meal and my husbands non GF steak. .
Thanks to getting a last minute babysitter, we rode into Beaufort and looked for a nice dinner. The gluten free options on the menu drew us in and we walked in and were seated at the bar. Bar seating was tight but cozy and the bartender was super friendly and especially helpful with the menu.
We ordered two tapas and two small plates for the two of us. The duck wings drumettes were fantastic and the shrimp and grits were some of the best I've had. Our 'small plates' were the local catch (grouper) and the GF crab cake. Both were on on point, but the grouper was just out of this world! Topped it all off with the dessert sampler and it made for a great night out with my sweetie. We will return!
HOLY COW - Hands down some of the best Mexican food/drinks/service I’ve had in NC! Roosevelt was our bartender/server. Thank you. Hubby is Gluten-free so great options. We had the Steak tacos, fajitas, and that huge top shelf (1800) fresh made skinny Margarita w/ fresh lime was only $12!!!
This place was recommended to us and we are so glad we listened. They offered gluten-free pizza and it was so good. The service was great and the view of the water was amazing as well.
Will was our server and he was absolutely fantastic at recommending tasty menu & drink items, as well as catering to a gluten allergy by providing alternate menu options and customizations. Would absolutely come back and request to be in his section! 😊
Outstanding. A lovely restaurant with superb food, service, and ambience. It’s not cheap - this a very nice, “Down East”, on the water place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner with valet parking. On the a la carte dinner menu you’ll find seafood, steak, pork, chicken- a sort of Haute American Southern cuisine with lovely appetizers, salads, side dishes and desserts. There’s a full bar with multiple choices of single malt Scotch, or whatever your palate desires. There are Tawny Ports and all of the digestifs you’d expect with dessert. My wife and I had a lovely dinner here. The service was excellent - attentive but not annoying - my wife has celiac disease, and all of the staff were knowledgeable, and did everything we could ask to give her wonderful options, and ensure that she could eat safely as well. A great experience.
Food is fresh, creative, and delicious! The staff are friendly and the views from the porch were so beautiful--great atmosphere. Had the burrata with heirloom tomatoes, pan seared flounder with mango salad in a red curry sauce. Since I'm gluten free I had the cheesecake brownie which was so delicious. Wish I could've had their signature sticky toffee pudding which my husband loved. Items on menu aren't marked gf but the chef is able to modify to meet your needs. Dana our server was very knowledgeable about gluten and the menu options.
Limited gluten free options. Coffee was ok - warm/not hot; not enough ice tea for refill. Peanut butter and oatmeal cookies were good; chocolate cookies were burnt.
I found this coffee shop to be great! Staff was friendly and welcoming, coffee was good and snacks delicious. I had an Americano and my son had a hot chocolate. The Americano was very good, very rich. My son really liked his hot chocolate topped with whipped cream, chocolate sauce and mini marshmallows. I appreciated that they had 2 gluten free brownies. We also had a slice of carrot cake. We enjoyed both. The interior is like a library. A few tables all wood with various seating.
There was no downside to stopping here for breakfast: the cubano coffee was delicious, the Cafe au lait was perfect, breakfast bowl was perfect gluten free proportion, the cubano sandwich hit the spot, and the cinnamon roll was just the way I like cinnamon without being overly sweet. The outside setting was perfect for a toddler to run around to her hearts content. Last, but not least, the gentleman working was just so kind, excellent at making coffee and food, and just wonderful. If this place was in southern maryland, I would be in trouble. 12/10
