What a cute little restaurant! We had their waffle Sammy and it was so yummy! I eat gluten free so it was great to find someplace that catered to that! My husband doesn’t eat gluten free it he loved it also! Of course we had to try a cookie and it was great too! They are also vegan and diary friendly. Small place not much seating inside more of an outdoors or to go place. We will come back when we are in town!
Not Celiac friendly. My daughter was so happy when we found out Jersey Mike's had gluten free bread and an entire gluten free preparation spot. It was her favorite place to eat. We went Saturday only to find out this is no longer the case, the gluten free section has been turned into to go order station. We were told they could still make her a "gluten free sandwich " . They just lay down new paper on top of all the bread crumbs and use all the toppings we just watched them touch after touching bread. She walked out crying. Do not eat here if you are celiac or have gluten allergy.
For the price point this place just isn't it. The food is subpar. The menu makes you think they are allergen friendly. THEY ARE NOT. Before we ordered we listed our son's food allergies and brought out food with an allergen on it. Gluten free chips were STALE. Michelada was terrible. Overall DO NOT RECOMMEND.
I really enjoyed this little hidden gem. While there are a few things in would improve, the environment was great. It was clean and the staff was nice. I even had a gluten free waffle. That’s something that’s hard to come by in some areas. I will be back when I’m in town
I recently got diagnosed with celiac disease, I googled gluten free restaurants and BJ restaurant was one of the choices. This gluten free stuff is all new to me. My husband and I have never been to this restaurant. We were seated immediately and the waiter Nick was very nice and knowledgeable. He brought me a gluten free menu that I could look at. I chose the cheeseburger and it came with a gluten-free bun. Let me tell you that this was the BEST burger I ever ate. I couldn't eat the fries so I had a side salad. A meal of it's own lol also very delicious. THEN Nick suggested a gluten free cookie with Ice cream. OMG! the best cookie ever. I was expecting our meal to be around $50-$60 but it was only $40. Great meal at a reasonable price. Great job Nick and BJ's!
Loved it! They accommodated special dietary requests like gluten free, and the food was amazing and so was the service. We will stop in here every time we're in Tyler.
My wife and I stopped by on a Sunday to enjoy a cup of coffee. The outside patio was perfect, tons of beautiful flowers. The inside was spacious and well decorated with local art. Plenty of gluten free options and the coffee was fantastic!
Not sure how this restaurant has 4+ star reviews.
We had a very nice server start out with us and then he just disappeared and worked a bigger table. Took a while for another guy to come bring us our drinks and appetizers. Our sushi roll was made with old rice. I'm talking chunks of hard rice. We stayed to see how the rest of the experience would go. They accommodated for gluten free and that was awesome. But then we saw some kind of bug run across the grill. The waiter quietly killed and removed it. And thanked us for staying calm, but we were just left speechless. Definitely will not be returning for all these reasons.
The food is excellent! Perhaps even better, the folks who run the restaurant are absolutely lovely. I recommend the empanadas and the flan especially.
I would also note that those with certain food sensitivities (like gluten/dairy) should be able to find great options here.
I told the manager that I have celiac disease and she asked me if I wanted a burrito... it made me feel like she wasn't educated abt my allergy and that I was risking exposure bc of her lack of knowledge. I'm disappointed bc chipotle is one of the only places I feel comfortable eating at. I wish she had been more aware 😕
This restaurant serves fresh, hot, delicious breakfast, brunch, and lunch items. We were placed on the waiting list as soon as we arrived and we waited 2-3 minutes before being seated. Nice cafe feel, with healthier options. They have sourdough, wheat, and even gluten free bread. The lettuce was a nice spring mix. I ordered the sandwich and soup combo. Their tomato basil soup was hot and tasty. The half sandwich was huge and filling. Nice place to go relax and eat. Although the service is fast and healthy, there is no rush to eat and leave.
Customer service is incredible, Trystan and Lydia helped me figure out exactly what I could have to eat with my gluten allergy. 10/10 would recommend!!!
Always quick and high quality service. The gluten free bread and consistent quality has made this my go-to sandwich shop. Definitely recommend for anyone wanting a good sandwich.
Food was great. They don't have a great selection for gluten-free. I can't believe they don't have a gluten-free pizza option! Service was very friendly. The place was packed and extremely noisy, hard to hear our party across the table. It was Saturday night, so I guess that's to be expected. Food was delicious, but it took quite a while to get it.
So, my husband and I have been coming to this place for a while and we enjoy the Happy Ramen Hour. I will say that i ended up having some dietary restrictions that had to have me change how I order my food.
I will say that having the rice noddle option to replace the normal ramen that comes with it is a plus.
I will say that having the rice noodle allowed for some dishes to be Gluten Sensitive. I will say that asking any questions about any of the ingredients does allow you to a full picture of where gluten could be for those that have to be Gltuen Free.
I love this place and knowing that I can have gluten free options for some dishes, helps me to not feel left out.
The atmosphere is great. The place is fairly well decorated and landscaped.
Service was good, no complaints.
Cocktails were very good, probably some of the best I've had in Tyler.
Food was good.
There are several options for those who eat gluten free. They are marked right on the regular menu.
Went here for our business Christmas lunch. Service was good, the server was attenuative to our needs, and the food came out hot. We ordered off the lunch menu, so the portions were lunch size. I had the Salmon Florentine and we all had a bite of each of the desserts available. We tasted the Gluten free chocolate cheesecake, Pina colada cheesecake, Lemon layered cake and Tiramisu. The pina colada cheesecake was everyone's favorite, second was the Tiramisu.
Romas is our absolute favorite restaurant! The food is consistently fabulous and homemade! They go above and beyond to accommodate my gluten free issues. We routinely order Togo from them and have never once had anything but excellent food and service. We also attended a retirement party there recently and the staff was top tier. They had food out fast and fresh. The quickly and quietly served a huge crowd without my mistakes and among the speeches and crowds. I would most definitely host a gathering here with zero hesitation!!! They also hosted a large homecoming crowd with superior service and food! Infinite stars to Roma!!!
Excellent staff and wonderful food. The manager, Diego, was incredibly, above and beyond helpful in answering my dietary questions. Additionally, when I asked questions of the servers, if they did not know the answer they would do all they could to figure it out. I have been multiple times and each time have enjoyed a complete gluten free meal that was delicious. I recommend any of the enchiladas.
Food came out very fast and very hot despite the place being packed. Delicious. My brother is gluten free so he got naked strips. Manager on duty thanked us several times for our patience on the naked strips even though they took just a few minutes. Appreciate her attentiveness and could hear her positively encouraging the team in the back.
When I was sat down by the host I asked about gluten free items and said that the server would be more than happy to accommodate to my gluten allergy. I was super excited because it is so hard to eat out as someone with a gluten allergy. Server came out and was not very knowledgeable on gluten free items on the menu. She recommended the salmon since it said it was just seasonings and your choice of sides, however, it came out on a bed of cous cous which of course is not gluten free (cous cous was not labeled on the menu) and then the server joked “that’s my bad I totally forgot to let the kitchen know” but then didn’t offer to get me a serving that hadn’t touched the cous cous so I tried my best to eat around it. Like ma’am I have an allergy and will get sick so I didn’t feel like my gluten free needs were met. I’ve eaten here before with no issues with the steak but wanted to eat something else. Just triple check with your server and ask them to let the kitchen know. My server did not do so. I would eat here again because the food is normally great, I will just have to stress a ridiculous amount about my allergy next time that way it will be taken seriously.
Came to this location to place an order around 7pm. Walked in and not a single person greeted me. There were no customers in the restaurant.
I walked up to place my order and still did not even get a hello, or welcome, or how can I help you. I just placed my order and the three employees working there were chatting to each other the entire time. Not that they shouldn’t be allowed to talk while they are working but some better customer service would have been nice. I felt like I was being rude for interrupting them.
The lobby could have been tidied up some which they probably could have done during their spare time seeing as they weren’t busy with customers.
Other than that, the food was good. And my sandwhich was perfect. I love the gluten free bun option. :)
Fast, burger was hot and correct. I have to eat gluten free and meat and cheese was wrapped in lettuce and without onions or pickles! Great job! I appreciate your fixing it that way. Thanks! P S it was also very reasonably priced.
The food was better than average but just not memorable. The manager and our server were amazing and helped us in an effort to try to get gluten-free options for my wife. I had the chicken fajitas that were great, but the rest of the party wasn't immensely impressed with their meals. Really like the decor inside with a lot of really neat items, i.e. the room of hub caps on the ceiling. The manager did warn us that cross contamination could occur with the food, and we appreciated that.
If you have celiac like me. They work with you to make it as safe as possible. Micheal my waiter made sure everything was safe for me to eat even taken an item back cause it was not safe for me to eat.
Everything was absolutely perfect. Atmosphere, service, food, and everything in between exceeded our expectations. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary, with fresh flowers on the table & a personalized menu which was such a thoughtful touch! They accommodated our gluten allergy (even had an employee run to the store to grab GF bread for our appetizer) & everything was delicious. We had the whipped feta (outstanding and beautiful), the Cesar salad (best salad I’ve ever had), the filet (cooked to perfection), Brussels (absolutely mouth watering), puréed potatoes (so yummy), and lobster mac (obviously not GF, but my husband said it was delicious). The sides are big enough to share, so keep that in mind! The virgin Bloody Mary and Hidden Garden mocktail were both so good. Estevian even left us a hand written thank you card and provided outstanding service. Seriously cannot recommend this place enough, and we can’t wait to come back! (As an aside, this probably isn’t a place to bring small children, so mom and dad will look forward to the next sans-kid meal to share here!)
