Their happy hour deal is great. The nacho fries were delicious. Everything was so good we came back for brunch the next day and got the gluten free waffles (they were a bit too sweet, but good nonetheless, wish there was almond butter on it to balance out the strawberry jam? syrup?). Always great to have a gluten free and dairy free place.
The service was lovely and as someone with coeliac disease, I felt very safe eating here (the server let me know that the original owner’s wife is celiac, and so that made me feel like they would have a good understanding of cross-contamination). The eggs and hashbrowns were just OK and the chicken sausage and the pancake that I had were pretty good.
This place is fantastic.
I have celiac and a wheat/oat allergy and the staff was knowledgeable about all allergens for menu items. I had no bad reactions to the food afterward.
The food is delicious too - I'm an omnivore who eats vegan/vegetarian a decent amount. It stands amongst some of my favorite restaurants ever (non vegan included). Did not think it being vegan detracted from flavor whatsoever.
Highly recommend, especially if you have gluten sensitivity.
We came here for the gluten free sandwiches and were very impressed. Even our non-celiac friends loved the cheese bread, but the good was so slow to arrive, even in a near empty restaurant
Linn’s is in beautiful and quaint Cambria, not far from the Hearst Castle. We enjoyed fast and plentiful lunch here. My husband had the fish and chips. It came with a red cabbage and apple slaw that he raved about. I had a Rueben on a gluten free bun with fries—the meat was tender and generously sized. The fries were wide cut, hot, and nicely seasoned. The initial cup of coffee was not fresh, and the server happily made a fresh pot which was rich and tasty. We learned about olallieberries, which is apparently grown locally and up the northwestern coast. Always so much to learn in this beautiful world, and we thank Linn’s for sharing their slice of paradise!
I googled gluten-free pastries around me and found that this café had gluten-free/vegan cookies, etc. The girl at the register wasn’t very excited to help me. I have never been there before. I felt rushed to order so I got a couple of items, two cookies, and a scone. Everything I ordered is completely stale and inedible. For being an upscale kind of café I’m deeply disappointed in the value.
I liked the food and the staff was very nice and friendly, they seemed like they did want to be there. The food was good, there were many gluten friendly options. I also liked the drink options and flavors. the mimosas say they’re puree but it seemed more
like a puree syrup.
Got the grand slam. Never would have guessed the pancakes were both vegan and gluten free. Everything was delicious. The sausage and eggs are definitely vegan, but taste great. Service was excellent, excited to try other things.
Absolutely top tier gluten free breakfast burritos. The Mediterranean flavors of the Hiho wrap were awesome and everything was super fresh and well made. Pretty much everything can be made GF here so I highly recommend for anyone with celiacs.
Atticus was hands down one of the best servers I’ve ever had and I’ve been in the industry nearly 20 years. Two gluten free vegans and he was so accommodating. I also got hurt mountain biking and he took such good care of me letting me ice my leg. Great vegan / gluten free options, nice atmosphere, let us charge our phones, and Atticus is clearly one of those men who is just good to their core. Will come back!
The chilequilles had outstanding flavor and freshly made tortilla chips. My wife likes chilequilles, and I don't usually prefer them because I don't like soggy chips... However, these chips seemed fresh and crispy despite being in the green sauce.
The Lemon Ricotta pancakes (opted for gluten free) were really good especially for being gluten free!
There are so many menu options that sounds so good that we definitely have to come back to try them all.
The service is great and fast.
We dined on the patio with our fur baby where they provided blankets and heaters so we were very comfortable out there.
While they no longer have the gluten free crepes they'll still make your dish gluten free over rice. Their baked goods are always gluten free and vegan. Lots of gluten free vegan options.
A delicious little breakfast spot. Although there usually seems to be a line, I was lucky and didn't have to wait.
Their menu is varied but feels a bit limited, but the name says "pancakes."
The hash browns are greasy for not being so fried. The sausages are delicious paired with the pancakes, even the gluten-free ones.
It's nice to eat on their terrace; the weather is perfect.
The service was good, although despite the place not being full, the waiter forgot to bring me a juice I ordered. I don't know if it's customary in SD, but they brought us the bill before we ordered it, which seemed rude to us.
One of the best vegan spots in LA, and one of my favorite spots in general. They have tons of gluten free options and their gluten free pizza is amazing! Staff is always, warm, friendly, & accommodating.
As a healthy-foodie type who is also gluten sensitive, this place was a fabulous find! All organic with amazing natural choices, for both vegetarian and paleo, and obviously, cautious about food allergy prep! Staff was beyond friendly and food was delicious! We will def make this a go-to spot when in town!
Milie’s Cafe has so many options, from vegan to regular and gluten-free! I ordered the Devil’s Mess and it was packed with bold, delicious flavors. My hubby got The Usual with gluten-free pancakes and they were 🔥. We also loved their fresh, homemade orange juice, and the Blue Majik latte was a refreshing and tasty surprise. Highly recommend for a flavorful and inclusive brunch spot!
I cannot rave about this place enough! This hidden gem needs to be discovered because the quality and intention behind each detail of this place is spectacular.
The menu had tons of great options for both breakfast and lunch, from sandwiches and burgers to breakfast bowls and waffles, they made it hard to choose. Safe to say we will be back again to try more in the future, especially with their menu being updated seasonally to keep things fresh and exciting.
We settled on the Veggie Bowl and Savory Waffles which were both to die for and tasted even better than they appeared, which was impressive! I especially liked that everything tasted fresh and came well seasoned and so flavorful there was no need to add hot sauce, although they had a great selection of those as well. The curry aioli that came along with the veggie bowl was a delicious and unique touch to an already tasty meal too.
The portions were generous enough that we saved half of each plate for later so we could indulge in one of their beautiful pastries, which to my surprise were all gluten free! It’s wonderful to know anything on the menu can also be made gluten free as well.
The cookie was giant, soft and delicious without too many chocolate chips to distract from the actual flavor of the cookie itself which was not overly sweet, with just a touch of sea salt that I thoroughly enjoyed.
The owners behind the counter were friendly and welcoming, even to my little chihuahua girl who is normally quite shy. There is a great little market section with local and hand crafted goods to check out while you wait and the bathroom was cute and very clean which I appreciated. I love the vibe of the outdoor patio seating with fresh flowers that are also for purchase as well.
I can’t wait to come back and visit again soon and am happy to make the trip down to imperial beach just for this experience. I am looking forward to seeing this business grow and continue to thrive within its community for many years to come. Show your support and be sure to bring friends and family alike to enjoy all this place has to offer. Whether grabbing a quick coffee and pastry or dining in, this place is sure to not disappoint.
The food tastes amazing here, the owner is awesome and gave me some really great tips for my gluten intolerance! Would definitely recommend coming here
Very authentic place for Harry Potter fans to eat. Long queue. Not a great experience for coeliacs only roast chicken available but the staff did understand the importance of cross contamination etc. food was nice enough (fish and chips - not gluten free) and chicken with potato for coeliacs. Would recommend if you’re into HP.
A wonderful place for some of the best-tasting food. My soup was homemade-like, the tuna salad sandwich was tasty and heated. The avocado toast was the best I've ever had. And the chocolate cake—just order a slice. Yes, it's all gluten-free, but don't pass it up if you're not on a GF diet, as it's a healthy alternative to most places.
LOVED: Fun atmosphere. Great menu. So many fresh, creative choices. The food presentation is spot on. Easy access to water and condiments. Quick beverage service.
LIKED:
Out table server (she delivered the food. You order at the counter) was friendly and worked to take care of us after the ordering server had messed up our order. She was great! Ordering was taken wrong which resulted in delayed food and overcharge. The food seems real fresh. It was very good - creative - but a bit greasy for me. I should have skipped the cheese on my tofu scramble and skipped the James Dean sausage. I don't like greasy. I think others would have loved it. The tofu with peanut was tasty.
MEH:
The gluten free French toast was ok but not great. I like eggy French toast. This was airy and fluffy. Others may have loved it.
I ABSOLUTELY recommend this place and I would come back again. I would just change my order a little. I do wish they had some egg free breakfast options. I'm thinking this would not be a good place for a vegan.
My wife has Celiac Disease and I asked for gluten free pancakes but they gave me regular pancakes. I even showed the hostess what I wanted via their website on my phone. Now my wife is in the bathroom throwing up to avoid having to go to Urgent Care.
The food and the overall restaurant is 5 Stars! I think we would have enjoyed ALOT more if we weren't in the middle of a heat wave here in LA because the seating is all outside and it got hot really quickly..but any other time this would be a great option for lunch! We came for brunch and the breakfast options DID NOT disappoint! I got the spinach and feta omelet, and it was so good! Everything is pretty much priced close to $20 a plate, but the food is worth it, and the portions are generous. I saw a lot of people getting the breakfast burrito, so it must be one of the more popular menu items. There's alot of parking behind the building. Also many gluten free options.

Ad Hoc makes gluten free biscuits and fried chicken (at Addendum by request too).
When you dine at Ad Hoc they will make sure you have an incredible experience. They will alter the menu to make sure it is gluten free.
It’s a must if you have celiac disease.
This is a long time favorite of mine .. their Spanish latte... Sooooo good .. especially the strong version... Their food is ok... They run out of healthier options pretty early, even at 9.30am, such as breakfast burrito gluten free tortillas... So go there early if you need or prefer certain options...
Great place to eat for gluten free, but if your super worried about cross contamination I would have a talk with the waitress about waffle maker or giddle.
