Excellent food, friendly welcome, and excellent service. I have celiac disease and am thrilled with the variety of gluten-free food and drinks. With 30 degrees and sunshine, I missed more shade. If more sun protection like umbrellas were provided, this would definitely be 5 stars.
Gluten-free, keto, and low-carb.
A great breakfast spot for any fitness buddy or anyone simply watching their diet. All the ingredients are listed on the menu, even the calories. They only serve high-quality food. I'm really pleasantly surprised; it was a random choice. I can only say, top, top, top! 👍 🥐🍞
The House of Brittany is a super nice restaurant with delicious food. Very authentic because a lot of French is spoken there. Thanks to buckwheat, almost all dishes are gluten-free. Highly recommended.
Nicely decorated cafe, friendly service, good food. I had an omelette with goat cheese and spinach, my husband had pumpkin soup. The soup was very tasty, the omelet was good. There was also a small fresh salad with it. I discovered gluten-free rolls on the menu. There are also many vegetarian dishes. A visit is worth it!
We ate here with three people. One has celiac disease (gluten intolerance). The service explained to her what she was allowed to eat and the food came quickly. For starters there were summer rolls and spring rolls, both of which were very tasty! We ordered two pho and one beef with vegetables. We were all more than satisfied and completely full afterwards! The atmosphere was very pleasant and everyone was friendly and accommodating. We definitely recommend it!
We were actually really excited - breakfast at the café in Altona, which offers vegan and gluten-free options, sounded like a perfect start to the day. Unfortunately, things got rather… disappointing.
I order matcha almost everywhere because I love how versatile the drink can be – and because to me it is more than “just a green tea”. It is a ritual, a taste experience, a real drink from the heart. What came next was all the more disappointing: a completely tasteless, strangely bitter-watery something that was probably supposed to be matcha. Perhaps. To be honest, we still don't know what was in the cup. But if it was matcha, then it was the worst possible quality.
And I really ask myself: How can a product like this even end up on the menu?
The service person was super friendly – no question about it – but when we asked, she honestly told us that she had never tried the drink herself. And that's when it rang a bell for me: I worked in the catering industry for many years, and it was standard practice for the entire team to try out new products before they ended up on the menu. Especially with sensitive drinks such as matcha or special coffee preparations, it is actually common practice to hold workshops or training courses to ensure quality and consistency.
But with this matcha? No chance.
I really can’t imagine anyone saying, “Yes, that’s delicious – that’s on the menu.”
And even though the café had gluten-free breakfast options, the food was mediocre, but quite expensive. If I'm going to spend a lot more money on a "special breakfast," then I want to get something that justifies the price - and that just wasn't the case here.
We returned the matcha (half full) but paid anyway - because we didn't want to blame the service. But I gave the feedback anyway. For me, leaving the drink on the menu like this is simply not fair treatment of guests.
Conclusion: I will not visit this cafe again. Not because the people there were unfriendly – quite the opposite. But because I think that a card also means responsibility. And because for that price I would rather buy a fair trade organic tea at the drugstore, sit down on a bench in downtown Altona - and have a better moment. Without any bitter, fishy surprise in the cup...
Super delicious - also gluten-free!
We have been coming here as often as we can for 6 years, it is also a must for all our guests. Great ambience in the historic Levantehaus, super tasty, cheap (a filling main course is available for just €10) and friendly service. There are also plenty of vegetarian, some vegan dishes and even I, who have celiac disease, find a large selection of gluten-free dishes. We are particularly grateful to Tung, who is always particularly friendly and patient and always gives us great information about which dishes contain allergens! (Give him a raise!)
PS: Definitely try the Vietnamese spring rolls!! I dream about them at night!
Highly recommended for people with celiac disease – well-thought-out, safe, and welcoming!!
We have celiac disease and are familiar with the endless search for restaurants where you can truly eat safely. Green & Grill completely won us over – we've rarely felt so well looked after.
The staff has remarkable knowledge of celiac disease and the gluten-free diet. They explained to us in detail how the products are handled and how the dishes are prepared – everything was well-thought-out, structured, and taken seriously. No gut feeling, just genuine understanding of the issue. And the rolls are homemade, what more could you want ;-)
A special thank you goes to Angelika, who looked after us – friendly, competent, and attentive to every detail. In addition to the already great experience, there was a little surprise: four different juice samples. Great service – they know what they're doing!
For people with celiac disease, this restaurant is a real ray of hope. We'll definitely be back. Thanks to the whole team – you do a really great job.

Great for eating delicious tacos quickly. Also gluten-free except for the chicken tacos. The vegetarian ones didn't entirely convince us, but the ones with beef or pulled pork were super tasty. The Topos MxStr (tortilla chips with pulled pork and yogurt sauce) are highly recommended!
A really nice cafe with a great selection of drinks and delicious breakfast. I would particularly like to emphasize how friendly the staff is here. Very pleasant and helpful with choosing food and allergens. Vegan and gluten-free friendly. Absolutely recommended!
Hello,
I was at your store today with my friend and we ordered two cold croques to take away. I then ordered a turkey croque with gluten-free bread. Then my friend wanted to order his croque (crunchy croque) but this was interrupted by the waiter who said: “I thought there were two croques, I only heard one”.
This interruption caused a lot of confusion when ordering as my friend was about to place his order. My friend's order was also processed correctly, but I then simply received the vegan version of his croque. That's a real shame because I didn't order it at all.
We then inquired on their website and discovered that the vegan Crunchy Croque is made from wheat proteins. Since I have already specifically ordered gluten-free bread, one could conclude that I cannot tolerate wheat, apart from that, as already described, I did not order it. Now I had to eat my croque without the substitute product. It was just cheese and tomatoes. If we didn't have such a long way to get to the store, we would have gone straight back and ordered another turkey croque.
We love eating your croques, but we would be very happy if you listened to us and let us finish when you order.
Kind regards :)

A cute little basement cafe with outdoor seating. The cakes are gluten- and dairy-free, which is why I came here. However, I find it very expensive. The slices are small, narrow, and quite flat, depending on the variety, and cost €5.50 each!
Other vendors charge €3.70 for their homemade gluten-free cakes.
The place is usually fully booked in the evening, however the queue moves fast. People are friendly, properly speak English and provide all the info we ask for.
Pho soup and noodles with beef/duck were super delicious. We waited for less than 15 min for food to arrive while every table was fully booked.
You have diary free, gluten free and vegan options. Possible to pay by card over €15 bill.
Cozy café with very good coffee and delicious food. There is always a gluten-free version of the bread and as a celiac I felt very safe. Absolute recommendation!
Discriminatory jokes about celiac disease
I actually heard a lot of good things about the restaurant and found the location to be very appealing from the outside. Both inside and outside there was a nice and warming atmosphere despite the current cold, drizzly weather in Hamburg.
However, I am very disappointed with the staff and couldn't enjoy the ambience at all. Because of my celiac disease, I have to follow a very strict gluten-free diet. Unfortunately, contamination is often an issue and so I always have to ask the waitress whether something is gluten-free or not when there is no allergen food and drink menu in front of me. I'll be honest: I also find it super annoying, but I didn't choose my disability. Now I asked mulled wine whether it contains gluten, as not everyone knows that unfortunately wheat is sometimes added as a starch when preparing mulled wine. Instead of receiving a neutral answer, the employee reacted annoyed and I was confronted with unpleasant jokes. I didn't understand why the employee had to emphasize with an annoyed undertone that her colleagues had laughed at her over this question. In between, an employee came and made a joke about my gluten intolerance, which I found to be offensive.
I didn't choose this disability and found the service overall to be very disgraceful. Overall I felt very uncomfortable. My friends were shocked by the staff's reaction to my question. I very much hope that a neutral attitude towards customers with disabilities and intolerances can be maintained in the future. They lost me as a customer after that evening.
Today I ordered a pizza margarita, gluten free and buffalo mozzarella for €17 and it would be delivered to me in 30 minutes...the pizza was cold and really not tasty and the cheese was lost in the box.
The people are incredibly nice and accommodating, we felt very comfortable and would love to come back! The breakfast menu is extensive, gluten-free rolls are available upon request and the scrambled eggs are great :)
I'm so so so glad to have found this place
It's just unreal good
You can order the whole menu and if you need gluten free food they got you covered!
Go there... like now
Rarely eaten so well vegan.
There were 3 of us.
We took five starters, each a main course (2x burgers & 1x curry) and two desserts + two peanut butter shots.
We were super full, everything was super tasty, the atmosphere was great, the service was nice.
Is gluten free 👍🏻
The food was very tasty, although there were some discrepancies with the presentation of gluten-free options on the menu. However, when asked, everything could be clarified. The staff was very friendly.
Great cappuccino! The coffee beans smells and tastes good, I really love it. Recommended cafe to enjoy the best coffee with super homey atmosphere surrounded by cute cactus 🌵 The location is also easy to reach in the city center. I would love to get some gluten free cakes or bread here soon!
Very nice atmosphere and above all great food! We were looking for a café for breakfast that also had gluten-free alternatives and found it here. There is gluten-free bread and also a gluten-free selection of cakes. We sat really nicely in the sun and even though it was very busy, the waitresses were very attentive and there were no unpleasant waiting times.
Super delicious breakfast at fair prices and great homemade cakes.
Lots of gluten free options.
Very friendly service, you can tell that the owners put their hearts into it.
We were welcomed very nicely and friendly by the service staff. After requesting gluten-free, the service person showed the most competence. He gave us good advice about typical Hamburg dishes. He also informs us about the Alster water. He served us food with little waiting time. The restaurant was well attended. The view of the Elbe is great, gives a different feeling.
My partner and I would visit this restaurant again. Recommended.
Here you can find delicious steaks, fresh salads and more. There is a separate menu for people with allergies (e.g. gluten) - this helps me a lot when choosing dishes.
The burgers are excellent and the meat taste is wonderful. I never knew before that the patties could taste so great in Ricjtung Steak. The fries were also excellent. Anyone who can't tolerate gluten is in good hands here, the kitchen knows its stuff very well.
Finding a parking space is challenging.
The coffee tastes really delicious. Loving decoration for cappuccino. Also delicious croissants and cakes. Many are even vegan or gluten-free. Very modern, new furnishings in Scandinavian style. Super friendly barista.
Very attentive to my gluten intolerance and served 2 different types of delicious gluten free bread. The food was amazing as was the service. Wonderful ambiance and overall great experience!
A very nice café with some unusual drinks. There are some matcha latte variants such as strawberry and passion fruit. There is also a large selection of cold and hot drinks. The hot chocolate is very tasty.
Food-wise there are croffles, sandwiches and a little cake. The croffles with vanilla matcha pudding and Nutella are very tasty.
There are many vegetarian and vegan versions. The croffles can also be ordered in the gluten-free version. Instead of cow's milk, there are several other types of "milk".
However, the prices are quite high.
The café offers quite a lot of space and the staff is very friendly.
For breakfast I was given gluten-free rolls upon request! Since it wasn't in the reviews or on the menu, I was very happy and finally got my fill with breakfast. So for everyone who also searches the reviews for gluten-free - there is! 😊 (But I don't know about the cakes). The scrambled eggs were also really the tastiest I've ever eaten.
The best steak of the week in Germany, less gluten and less oil. 200, 300, 500g American beef, Uruguayan beef, European beef. Price depends on weight.
Maybe few people ordered the 500g dish at noon, and the boss came to check it out.
Reasonable price of €75 for 500g. Spinach and seasonal asparagus are pure boiled healthy food.
