My Partner and I ordered online and upon arriving I was very impressed by the atmosphere in here. Lots of great places to sit and eat inside and outside. The aroma of food was amazing, it made my mouth water. The service was incredible, greeting every customer with a smile and took customer concerns very seriously. You can tell that the staff want the customers to have an authentic experience. I got the fried chicken sandwich and my partner got buffalo wings. Absolutely everything on the sandwich was fresh from the lettuce and tomato to the sauce. The wings here are like no other, they are practically boneless with a crispy exterior that makes them absolutely perfect. Strong hearts is also very inclusive of those with dietary restrictions, including a menu of gluten free and vegan options. Overall the entire experience here was amazing and I will definitely be a frequent customer
Great place to visit, the food was very good and super tasty. My wife has a celiac disease, and I am happy to report she had no issues with this place, and felt great after eating there.
The place is small and can get very loud, kinda hard to talk to the people that you are eating with.
Also, they did mess up our order and got us 2 of the ribs instead of what we ordered, but it was still very tasty.
Overall very good place to go and eat, good atmosphere, music a bit too LOUD!
Prices are good, we were 4 people had food and drinks and the bill was around $100 ( not including tip).
Recommend.
We showed up early on a Sunday thinking we wouldn't need a reservation. It took us 45 min to get in, but it was worth the wait. Delicious food and great service. Very attentive to my gluten allergy! I was missing the bread and dipping sauce, so the server brought me some broccoli to dip and my own sauce. SO good! Thank you
Things to know:
Slaw = Raw Cabbage (for texture! No Mayo. This is a good thing).
Allergies = Super friendly. Clearly marked on all menu items; able to alter order for GF/DF for my wife who has Celiac.
Ambiance = bomb. Music was straight passion pit and phoenix. Bob’s burgers on the TV. Chattering teeth toys hanging from the ceiling. What more can you ask for?
Service = incredible. Andrea was knowledgeable, kind, helpful, and struck a great balance between making sure we had what we needed right away and leaving us be so we could enjoy our food. Her recommendations were spot on.
Prices/portions = also spot on.
Happy Hour = Half priced beer every day 4-7pm. It’s also not busy at all. Come here then.
Creole Fish & General Tso’s Shrimp Tacos = to die for. Literally. The shrimp taco was so spicy it almost killed me. I loved every minute of it.
Fly Bird = Nothing to write home about. This was my first visit and I hope I just caught them on a bad day, but I expected fresh tenders and these seemed like they were frozen/overly breaded. I’ll try again before I write it off wholesale. Redemption: the Fly Bird Custom Sauces were great and worth the extra $1.50. Try the Banana Pepper Honey Mustard. Perfect blend of sweet and spicy.
Love this place! The food is so good. They have a great selection of drinks and food. I went with my family and most of us got burritos or tacos. I got the vegan burrito in a gluten-free wrap. Everyone enjoyed what they got. The server was very knowledgeable about the menu and the origin of the restaurant name (Alto Cinco means high five and it has to do with everything being hand made). Cute shops and other restaurants around here, too!
Small shop with 4 small tables for seating. Displayed slices and desserts looked delicious! We ordered a buffalo chicken ranch wrap and a Gluten Free pizza. The GF pizzas only come in a "medium" size, not by the slice. Service was quick and friendly!
Food was fresh and clean. The avocado smash toast was really good and they don’t skimp on ingredients, you can get Gluten-Free bread, and add a freshly poached egg. It’s nice there is an gf friendly omnivorous healthy option in town . This is a sweet place youthful vibe, but clean. Walk-up counter ordering and pick up.
Gf bread could have been more toasted ( that’s the gf secret) otherwise it tastes kinda ehh.
The Build Your Own bowls are great. I would definitely order them again. Unfortunately, they forgot my added Fresh French Fries in my first takeout order from this restaurant. The food is great, I will give this restaurant another chance to do better.
On February 27th 2025 I went back and ordered The Big Cuse Smash Burger on a gluten free bun with fries. It was amazing. Definitely worth the money.
Award-winning Puerto Rican food. One of the family members is celiac, so there is good awareness of gluten-free restrictions. The food is amazing and delicious.
Great for gluten free. Hamburgers are fresh and aren't able to be near gluten. Then the fries are the only food fried so are gluten free and fresh and yummy this day.
The atmosphere was comfortable, it wasn't overly crowded and the food was phenomenal. Staff was attentive without being overbearing and they got all modifications done correctly. Plenty of gluten- free options
Stopped here on the way through Syracuse a few weeks ago. I got an iced oat milk latte and gluten free muffin - both which were tasty. My only complaint was the line was out the door and the organization of people was a bit chaotic. But it was also a holiday weekend right around when school resumed. I’ll definitely go back next time I’m in town.
I love Wendy's food, which is why I continually endure the long wait at this location. I understand there is an issue getting help, but this particular Wendy's is ridiculously slow. Even when you order at the counter, the wait is endless. I am also not happy that the new ownership has eliminated the 10% senior discount. That's just petty. I'll still go there, though, because the food is fresh and hot, and I love the Southwest Avocado salad. I am gluten intolerant and there aren't many places I can order food for my husband and get something tasty for myself. Get some help, restore the senior discount, and I'll bump you to five stars!!!
This place is not for gluten free or celiac people. Until they change their business listing about being gluten free, all Kubal locations will keep messing up your Google Maps results (I have mentioned this to staff before). They only have a small basket of packaged gluten free brownies. My oat milk latte was not to my liking (it was one of the worst I’ve had and I have tried them at every coffee place in the city), but I know many other people who enjoy their coffee beverages here. The main benefit is the ambience.
Came here with my mom for lunch, I ordered the pesto vegan burger and she tried the Mac and cheese and nuggets. I was absolutely stuffed! Great little spot in Syracuse to stop and have a burger! The gluten free bun was great as well, doesn't break apart like most do. Will be back for a burger another day👍
Fun little movie-themed diner with semi-cafeteria style service (order at counter, then your food comes later - "1/2 service" maybe?). They have a quinoa and kale hash that is pretty awesome. I appreciated the efficiency of the 1/2 service system, but all the disposables and lack of milk alternatives or decaf coffee left me bummed. I'd also like to have an option for extra hash/side instead of toast (gluten free sucks, sorry to everyone).
First it's the friendly people that work there! The first time I went in was when I was working over in the plaza and I was greeted as soon as I came in mostly it seems quiet there which is nice. But quiet doesn't mean that no one is coming in because well I was waiting for my drink, smoothie and waffle they had a steady stream of people coming in. After having my tea, smoothie and waffle I can absolutely understand why! not only are the people who work there nice and helpful since it was my first time there I did have some questions that they answered.
But the tea is great! the first time I got the Lavender Milk tea with boba,it was a nice balance of Lavender with enough sweetness and milk to have it be a nice afternoon drink. I also got the Orange Smoothie with rainbow jellies I upgraded to the larger since it was my lunch and it was refreshing, tasty and well worth the cost to have a healthy lunch, the rainbow jellies added to the fruit flavor of the smoothie making it almost a different flavor with each sip!
The Pandan waffle with Ube icecream is a nice addition to everything it's made fresh there to order and it's a nice light almost vanilla flavor on its own but adding the ube icecream enhanced the flavor both work well and it's Gluten free! I've also gotten the green tea and mango with boba, a strawberry banana smoothie and move over Starbucks because if you think you've had dragon fruit from them and like it. You'll love the real deal with them! They also have some fruits on the menu that you don't see everyday like Jackfruit,Lychee, and Durian! I haven't been brave enough yet to try them but I definitely will! You won't regret giving them a try! oh and definitely sign up for their membership! you get upgrades and birthday treats with it!
The staff are friendly and patient, the food’s more on the expensive side but are good nonetheless, I definitely recommend the strawberry lemonade since it has a zesty x sweet mix that balances each other out (be warned of dairy, nuts, and gluten on the menu but it is expected of a café)
I've been twice now and had a pleasant experience both times. The brunch is really fun and they have great live music during it on Sundays starting at noon (brunch starts earlier). I got a chicken sandwich on a gluten free bun each time and they were both great sandwiches. Brunch cocktails are awesome as well. I have three critiques of the restaurant. 1) the price of whiskey is astronomical. $9 per ounce for Buffalo Trace which is nearly a 10x markup from the bottle price. 2) no french fries on the menu when their sister restaurant has some of the best fries in the city seems like a huge miss 3) chicken portions are not big on the sandwiches. I'll be back because the atmosphere here rocks and food quality is expected to be consistent.
