Authentic Vietnamese food - good sized portions and very tasty. Service was good, food came quickly, the gluten free options are exceptional and I was able to take my dog with me. Loved it and cant wait to return.

Brilliant service, we were asked when we arrived if there were any dietary or allergy concerns - I stated I have Coeliac and they gave me a lot of information about how they have separate GF fryers, showed me how to find the allergen menu and even advised me not to steal a waffle fry from my boyfriend as they’re not gluten free! Caitlin served us and she was fab, really helped explain everything and made me so comfortable. Ideal for anyone gluten free!

Went for tea after receiving a £15 birthday gift card from the restaurant group. Was a lovely evening, gluten free pizza and fries. Chocolate brownie with ice cream for dessert. Very nice.

Up there with one of the best bottomless in Newcastle. Super fast service they take your next drink order as they bring you your drink. Food is lovely, just the right amount if you’re out for a drink. Really flavourful and something totally different. Good price for what you’re getting, think we had about 10-15 drinks so it’s well worth the price! Also, didn’t apply to us but I did notice they had brilliant dietary options for everyone (gluten free etc) Amazing service from Ana she couldn’t do enough for us and was super quick, impressively so! Will be returning soon to try their main menu. Massively recommend!

This place is great and I have been coming in quite often for nearly 10 years. Yaki udon is my fave. Food tastes good and is served quickly. I will say though experience today was not great. For first time ever asked for gluten free menu because my bf thinks he may be intolerant. We did say it was only a preference and traces of gluten are fine and there's no need to clean pans especially for us etc. There was a bit of confusion when ordering and manager who served us came across as quite rude and short tempered and a bit hostile. Was made to feel like we are awkward arses and a bit of an inconvenience. This interaction did spoil the vibe of our meal fair bit unfortunately. This place offers Eldon square discount for staff which is great but to be honest didn't really want to ask for this at the end due to the awkward interaction earlier.

Service and quality of the food was excellent, however the increase in price since my last visit was a shock. Other restaurants on Dean Street and Grey Street charge around £12 for pizzas, Prima is now £18... and £5 extra for gluten free option is disappointing. I'll be looking at alternative restaurants next time.

Amazing service from Alex! 12 of us arrived for bottomless brunch at 7pm, we had a glass of prosecco when we arrived and an alcoholic slushie followed, while we looked at the menu. We then got to choose from a cocktail pitcher menu of 10 choices. (pitchers split between 2). We all ordered from the ‘bottomless’ pasta menu, there was an excellent choice of 9 pastas. They also catered for a coeliac in our group, with her own individual garlic bread and pasta options! Better than most restaurants! The bartender Alex brought out our cake for the bday girl and kept our drinks topped up the whole time! We all had a wonderful time! Only downside was the atmosphere but it was a Tuesday evening, so was expected! will definitely return!

I celebrated my birthday here with eight friends on Saturday and had a wonderful time. Our waiter was friendly and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed; he was especially helpful when it came to splitting the bill. We had two gluten-free members of our party and they were equally satisfied with the service they received; the manager came out to speak to them personally before their meals were prepared. We'll definitely be back!

Have only been on a Sunday for the sapaad menu. Great for gluten free, dairy free, vegan etc. Would go more often but it’s pricey.

I had a gluten free burger and my friend had a taco dish both were really nice and tasty. The service was good and out waitress had a good knowledge of gluten-free dishes. The atmosphere was nice, we had a table in the corner at the back which was nice and private. We had a nice time and would recommend it.

Loved this place, even if it's a little bit 'Instagrammy'. Food and service was top notch. Great gluten free menu. Only let down by the WORST Old Fashioned cocktail I have ever had. Was so looking forward to what was promised on the menu. What arrived was a glass about a quarter full with ice and a small amount of clear liquid, no garnish, nothing! Barely tasted of whisky or like an old fashioned, and had certainly never even been in passing distance of the promised cardamon. £9.75 for that left me feeling disappointed. Left me wondering what Giles Coren was going on about. I should have said something but I didn't want to spoil a relaxing evening.

Cannot stress how exceptional the service is here. Lovely staff, couldn’t do more for us. I have coeliac disease and must follow a gluten free diet and they were very accommodating. We did the lunch deal which is great value for money! Hot and sour soup and the lemon chicken were devine. The restaurant itself is lovely with table divider curtains which make it nice and intimate. The tables are very spacious and have a lazy susan which I love, it makes it so easy for sharing. We will definitely be back!!

Had an afternoon tea which was really varied and tasty, all dishes were excellent. Staff were very attentive and knowledgeable about the food. My wife is coeliac and the chef prepared alternatives which was above and beyond what we expected. This made my wife's afternoon as we could sit and enjoy similar food together which is usually not the case, other coeliacs will understand how this is important. Thank you so much for a wonderful afternoon.

Visited for a birthday meal. Overall vibe was great inside, with one of the best sushi which I have ever had! Great gluten free menu, with no nuts at all on the premises for nut allergies. Generally food was slightly overpriced for what it was, and service lacked punctuality at times, with missing items and slow responses, but was overall satisfactory - when you’re visiting this sort of place however, you expect it to be perfect!

Absolutely fantastic! Really lovely friendly service from everyone. Our waitress was Tatiana and she was wonderful, she went through the process of how the restaurant works and explained to my partner what they could have as they’re coeliac. Almost all the menu was GF so that was great! The meat came out very quickly and was incredible quality. Everything was super tasty and the salad bar was a great addition. Lots to choose from! Didn’t get many photos as I was too busy eating!!

Jesmond Dene House Saved Our Wedding – The Best Day of My Life! We had our wedding at Jesmond Dene House on 10 May 2025, and it was truly the best day of my life. After a heartbreaking experience with another venue cancelling just 8 weeks before our wedding, we were devastated. But Jesmond Dene House stepped in and completely turned everything around—they quite literally saved our day. From the moment we got in touch, the team was incredible. A special thank you to Hannah, our amazing event planner, who was supportive, encouraging, and so genuinely invested in making our day perfect. She guided us through every step with such warmth and professionalism, and by the end, she felt like a true friend. The venue itself is stunning, but it’s the people who make it exceptional. The entire team went above and beyond to make everything feel personal and seamless. There were a few small hiccups on the day (as there always are!), but the staff handled everything so calmly and quietly that we barely noticed (and our guests did not at all!). Nothing was too much trouble, and their calm, caring presence made all the difference. The food was absolutely outstanding—elegant, delicious, and beautifully presented. What made it even more special was that the entire menu was tailored to be 100% gluten free and coeliac-friendly for all our guests. That level of care and attention meant the world to us. Fantastic hidden gem. The staff are all wonderful, friendly and helpful. Food was amazing and they cater for everything, vegan, gluten free (which can be hard to find) vegetarian, and us regular eaters. They have a brilliant range of ales and beers they are definitely worth trying out, they are happy to give you a taste before you buy any pints. Really is worth a visit if you ever that way down the Ouseburn 🙂

Visited on a Saturday night place was busy but didn't feel packed. Food was great, Wife is coeliac so requires gluten free the options on the menu were clearly explained and the starter cooked separately to accommodate the allergen. Only pointer for us would be maybe have some plain GF rice available, without the added grains. The rest of the group was "normal" and our food was excellent. Service was good and we did tip, the service charge was added as standard but the option to remove it if you wish was handled really well.

Amazing experience. Really good vegan and gluten free options, and the staff were amazing at making sure food was free of specific allergens. The food was really nice, and their cocktails tasted good and looked amazing. Each of our 3 cocktails were unique looking and visually stunning, including dry ice and fire. Would 100% recommend if you want somewhere nice and want to spend just a little more for an amazing experience.

We, myself, my father and daughter had a wonderful afternoon at the Purple Peacock's The Greatest Showman. The venue is upstairs a bit tricky for my 93 year old father but a member of staff helped him upstairs and made sure he was seated comfortably. The food was great, I had pre-ordered due to having a gluten free diet and everything was delicious 😋. The entertainment was amazing with an aerial artist, flame displays, great dancers and the wonderful singing talents of two female performers and the fabulous Matt Pagan from Collabro. The audience ranged from old to young and everyone was entertained with children encouraged to take part in certain sections of the show. Great family entertainment, well recommended and we'll definitely be back.

Food was lovely but lamb gravy was a little too salty. Feel soda bread shouldn't be included as a course. Staff were friendly and atmosphere nice despite the background music. Catered for coeliac. Was a very enjoyable evening.
