A little concerned about the cleanliness. 1st red flag was when I went to the rest room, I watched a server put her tab book on the floor while she used the toilet, then picked it up and laid it in the counter and to wash her hands and return to work with the same book. I watched her the entire time to make sure that book didn't come anywhere near our table. I considered speaking to a manager, but didn't want to make a scene, that book touched several other surfaces. It was disgusting. Second red flag was the toothpick that was in my sandwich was used before, it had dried sauce on the flag part that my sandwich did not have on it. Immediate turn off. My son also warned me not to drink from the cups there dried was food and smudges on inside of the clean cups. I was quite grossed out and kinda bummed I spent about $80 total (between 3 of us + $10 tip - the serve me was a sweetheart) just to bring home my sandwich and throw it in the trash.I don't think we will go back, which is sad because they have gluten free and plant based options.
Certainly not your typical brew pub! Wonderful beers on tap including the delicious Night Howler which is a lighter type of Guinness so easier to have with dinner. My wife, who is celiac, was very impressed with the gluten-friendly menu. I enjoyed the ahi tuna and, get this, an actual turkey burger!
Very nice atmosphere, tons of people, surprising menu, great beers. Don’t miss this place!
This is the first night we ordered from here. Definitely the best Chinese we’ve tried. I had called and inquired about a sauce since I have celiacs and they were nice enough to switch out the sauce that came with the steamed dishes with a white one which was delicious. My husband loved his dinner combination too. Happy to have found a place with great food and one that accommodates for dietary restrictions !
Sat at the bar for dinner and drinks with a friend around 5pm. It was moderately busy but not too loud, with kind of an awkwardly shaped floor plan, basically 2 hallways separated by a wall. Bartender was nice enough. I had the pear cocktail and a glass of the red sangria offered from the cocktail list; both were delicious, but the pear cocktail lacked the larger pear and ginger notes I expected from the ingredients. It mostly just tasted like a spiked sparkling lemonade; good, but not expected.
My friend and I shared a plate of the brussel sprouts after I saw reviews recommending them. They had good flavor, but my friend and I both noted how salty they were and how absolutely drenched they were in the sesame-soy sauce. We both enjoyed the sriracha aioli with them, but they made me thirsty 😬
I ordered the Peebee & Jay burger (pictured) and enjoyed it greatly!! The flavors worked great together. The beef patty had good flavor, but was definitely rare and not the medium I asked for. I didn't mind enough to ask for a replacement. The pork belly was crispy, with good flavor, maybe a little overdone. The popper fries were delicious! I felt like the little pickle nubbin' on my plate was strange and difficult to eat. I'd rather have had a spear or whole mini pickle; my friend commented on how it looked like I got stiffed with a pickle stem lol
My friend ordered the shrimp arancini (pictured) and loved it!! He told me the carrot puree was delicious and the plating was beautiful. I didn't try his food but it smelled and looked great! He also enjoyed his draft beer.
Overall, I had a good time, but I felt like there was a lot to be improved about the food and drink. I hate to be nitpicky, but after paying $63 (after 20% tip) for a modest meal at a restaurant I've heard rave reviews from locals over and over, I would've expected these smaller details to be locked down and perfected. With it's convenient location and appealing menu, I will most likely be back to give 2SP another try.
P.S. the music playlist was boppin'!
EDIT (4/11/24): Originally I had written celiac folks beware due to the "gluten friendly" label on dishes containing soy sauce. The restaurant has replied clarifying they use La Choy Gluten Free Soy Sauce. My review has been edited to reflect this and I'm happy to hear the restaurant takes allergies seriously 😁 I strive for honesty in my reviews and I thank 2SP for their clarification; I will be back! 🍴
Food and service were completely on point. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. I appreciated the menu had gluten free items listed and they asked me about food allergies and informed the chef of my celiac restriction and we all had fantastic meal. Thank you all for a wonderful experience.
Lovely place with coziest atmosphere! A real hidden gem of Wilmington! Nice and tidy outdoor area, a great variety of gluten-free and vegan options. Food was really flavorful and delicious, perfectly seasoned and just melting in my mouth. Highly recommend!
We decided to go a little bit off the beat and path for our daughter's UD graduation lunch and let me just say WOW!! Exceeded my expectations on every level. Food was fantastic, service was excellent, quality of food was great, personalized service, able to accommodate my celiac, atmosphere was perfect and great bourbon selection!!
Highly, highly recommend!! Cannot express my gratitude enough for this restaurant and it's team!!
MAIN POINT IS THIS, If you have people in your party who are vegan, or gluten free, along with meat eaters and are thinking "wow this place can accommodate all of us" Just know, it can't. And should not be trusted to do so. If you have an allergy to a single item on the menu, please, do not take the risk of eating here. They do not have their act together and cannot be trusted to save you from an allergic reaction.
Anyway, So this happened in the winter, I didn't write a review then but looking at some of the other issues people had looking at reviews today i though i should. I, like others, ordered a tofu stir fry and there was beef mixed in with the tofu. This is beyond unacceptable and extremely disgusting for a vegan like myself. What a joke this place is. They label things on the menu as vegan, or gluten free. What a lie that is, if this place can't handle their issues with cross contamination then nothing on the menu is vegan, gluten free, or free of any specific allergens.
I will never. In my life. Go back to this trash restaurant. I won't go to any locations period. I can't trust them to not put meat in my supposedly vegan food.
Btw i called and complained and they weren't even apologetic about it lol. They did refund my stir fry, but they seemed annoyed that i called to complain.
Very tasty and gluten free soy sauce used in teriyaki and fried rice! I second the positive comments about how welcoming and kind the staff is. We have a Celiac in my family, who has eaten here several times without issue. The menu doesn't mention gluten free, but they are very understanding and we feel safe eating here. See my review on the Find Me Gluten Free app for more details about GF options.
6 friends and myself came for brunch on a Saturday morning.
We were immediately greeted by an owner and our server, Jane, who offered to let us choose which table best fit our needs.
In all, we had the coffee (fantastic), pomegranate mimosa (coming back for more of those), iPA (loved it just like Jane promised we would), Brunch on Bow, Bloody Mary, and lagerita.
Jane helped us navigate the menu, assisting with gluten-free needs and substitutions. Our first time chicken and waffle adventurer loved her meal, we highly recommend the maple bacon fries and loved the bananas foster French toast, breakfast flatbread, carnitas omelet and bomboloni breakfast burger.
We were checked on by Jane, a manager, and a co-owner who were all phenomenally down to earth and hospitable. We were made aware of new menu features, Valentine’s Day events, their VIP club, happy hour specials, and a meet and greet with the second co-owner Fabio.
We will be returning very soon!
We had a Gift card from a few years ago and they honored it. Chef Mario loved the water bottle at the table and we will be doing that in our third restaurant soon to be opening. I had the trout special and he had the crispy chicken,to our delight hot out of the kitchen. This is the first time I ever ate a meal without needing to add salt or pepper. Our soups were delicious ,the black bean and the sweet potato . The broccoli robe with the sausage and cheese excellent. The gluten free chocolate lava cake was perfect for my diet. This was the best dining experience we have had in a long time with no feel of being rushed .Thanks for having us and hope you come to our new place to admire the water bottle on the table .
My husband and I hosted our wedding reception of 30 people here this weekend and absolutely loved it. It was a pleasure working with Admin, the events manager, and having every detail taken care of in regards to menu options, drinks, gluten free options and even dietary speciality meals for specific family members. We felt very well taken care of and the food was amazing! We couldn't have asked for a better experience for our small wedding reception.
They are an awesome professional, helpful, and inviting staff. Although, I was dashing. I used to patronize before I miraculously developed a gluten sensitivity. Blah Blah, lol. I am mad because I get a taste for a Capriottis Turkey the works. Do you guys offer sub bowls. That way, I'll buy my own bread and assemble the sub myself. Just can't beat natural ingredients. The smell of a good sub aroma in the air when you arrive. This location, I admire, so much. I will try and ask for a sub in bowl without the bread. But all the fixings. By chance, if you all consider gluten-free roll. UDIS gluten-free bread is the best. $2 to $3 extra I would pay because it is reasonable. Gluten-free is on the expensive side.
