In the area for the drag race, I have a gluten allergy and this place popped up as having options. When we travel we prefer to try non-chain restaurants.
Service was excellent. I had never eaten there before and the waiter was very patient. He did a wonderful job accommodating my request to try all their dipping sauces, answer all my questions and even had a drink that wasn't on the menu. BTW the coleslaw is amazing. It is asian inspired, I highly recommend. My sister has celiac disease and upon request they will give you a gluten free menu that is separate. All the food was good, except my husband's who said it was cold but if his food is not steaming hot than it's cold to him. It was more expensive than I imagined but worth it as a special treat for Mother's day.
This was me & my family’s first time at 44 Mills, and we will be back again! We absolutely loved the drinks, food, and service. I highly recommend the gingerbread espresso martini, lavender lemonade for the non-alcohol peeps and the roasted chicken breast :) They were also very accommodating with the gluten free menu! Madison and her trainee were amazing, really attentive and so so sweet! We had such a good time :)
ordered gluten free toast with sausage. Both were cold - the butter didn't melt! French toast tasted stale. Had to ask twice for syrup. Split my husbands omelette since at least that was served fresh and hot. When I said something all I was was a sorry. Still had to pay for it! $47 dollars later what a waste!!!!
Our waitress was Mina. She was very knowledgeable about needing gluten free foods. FYI: the Spicy Mayo isn’t gf :(
I ordered the cucumber roll sushi and the imitation crab roll sushi both delicious! They were big pieces also the picture is after I’ve already eaten some. They have gluten free soy sauce that tastes good also. Sweet tea is great! I also ordered the gf fried rice but didn’t like the way it tasted but my husband did. The menu is clearly marked gluten free on items that are. They have a good selection. The place was slammed!! They also have outdoor seating. If your sound sensitive or sensitive to certain lighting prepare accordingly.
Wife loves this place, especially as she can get gluten-free pasta there. One waiter in particular we have had multiple times and he is funny, patient, and prompt. Prices are comparable to competitors, while offerings are a little better/fancier.
I enjoyed my gluten free pizza with the cauliflower crust. I asked if the crust had cheese, as most do, and was told that this one does not. The toppings were fresh and had a tremendous amount of flavor. I took digest extra before eating, and didn’t have a reaction after eating. So, I’m unsure if there’s potential for cross contamination. Overall, this is one of my new favorite spots for gluten free pizza in Charlotte.
Wowwwww!!! Definitely go eat here with your family! Incredible, authentic Greek food! Nut free hummus and great options for gluten free diners. Massive portions and excellent customer service. You could feel the love and team work in the restaurant from every waiter and the owner. 100% returning!
We utilized The Smoke Pit as our caterer for our 5 year vow renewal at the Carolina Renaissance Festival. Alan was quick, attentive, and thorough with communications and what was needed with the vendor site/our desires. We had gluten free food that they helped facilitate, as well as a dessert. We opted to bring our own plates/cutlery/cups and the thought and care taken to make what we brought look OUTSTANDING was more than I thought possible - they EXCEEDED expectations. Our guests were THRILLED with the food in quality and quantity. One was so delighted by one of the breakfast casseroles they admitted to getting an entire 2nd plate of it alone. I can't say enough kind things about such an excellent team. Thank you for being such an integral and tasty part of our big day! 🖤
