This place is fantastic, great gluten free menu. My partner and I both had gluten free fish and chips. It was that delicious we returned the next day for dinner again.
Prices are reasonable and portions are great. Service was brilliant, staff were very friendly and helpful.
I highly recommend this establishment, for its great food and friendly atmosphere. Would definitely return in the future when visiting Whitby.
Incredible menu! If you are vegan or gluten free, you MUST pay Shakey Shakey a visit. Incredible tofish burger and vegan calamari. Huge portions, very good value. Amazing customer service. Great fish and chip shop vibes. Love this place!
Visited for the first time after our 4 year old daughters coeliac diagnosis, myself and partner are able to and do eat gluten, so we weren’t sure what to expect from the fish and chips we both ordered. They were honestly really lovely, I would never have known the whole meal was gluten free as it tasted no different from regular fish. The batter is so light and really crispy and delicious! Was really impressed with the kids meal and thought that it was very reasonably priced for a sit in (or takeaway) meal. My little girl chose fish bites and chips, which came with a carton of apple juice or water for £5! Which I thought was brilliant for the size of the portion.
Curry sauce was also really nice, and the amount was plentiful.
The lady who served us couldn’t have been nicer and was really attentive. There was an offer of a portion of free halloumi which she boxed up for us to takeaway too.
Really pleased to find this on our doorstep, very lucky to have a fully gluten free place to enjoy without fear! Will definitely return.
Cannot tell you how excited I was to have a full gluten free menu to choose from especially when I thought I was buying food for the rest of the family and having beans on toast when I got back home! All our food was delicious and the view from the bench opposite the shop wasn’t bad either!
This is the place to go for gluten free fish and chips. All fresh cooked to order and all gluten free. The batter is light, crispy snd golden brown. The fish generously portioned and cooked beautifully. Even the curry sauce is GF. Staff helpful, friendly and just nice. I recommend 👌.
It's wonderful to go somewhere and simply order gluten free food without any fuss.
The fish and chips were delicious and we were served by a very helpful lady.
Decided to eat here as they served gluten free fish and chips. The fish was nice but the chips were very disappointing. They were small, thin and resembled chip sticks rather than traditional chippy chips. Could only give one star for atmosphere as we were the only customers in the shop. Maybe word had got out about their unacceptable chips!
I am a celiac so fish and chips are a rare treat for me.
They do gluten free fish and chips and not only that, they have gluten free vinegar. That's the first chippy I have ever known do gluten free vinegar.
Last week was my 5th visit and as always the food was absolutely yummy.
Fabulous gluten free fish and chips. Kids size was enough for us at lunchtime. Sat on harbourside yo eat. Lovely atmosphere. Great busker. One of my favourite places
A really good fish and chip restaurant. Nice welcome from the front of house lady, who made sure we were aware of the seasonal special offer and the substantial savings available on a small selection of meals. Eat in or take away.
The fish, we chose hake, had a really crispy batter and the beef dripping came through nicely. The small chip portion was plenty. Do go for the mushy peas as here they are properly done and generously served.
All in all one of the best fish and chip suppers I have had.
There are some vegetarian options and gluten free versions too.
Parking is good as is access.
Been here many times for the GF fish and chips which I have always raved about. Since I last went it seems to have changed hands. Ordered it today and when it came out I asked for GF vinegar. Guy looked puzzled as to why I requested it then said they hadn't made mine GF, despite him being the one who took my order and only 2 other people in the whole place so not busy. Luckily I asked for the vinegar as someone with Coeliac disease would have been very poorly. I then had to wait while they cooked mine so my husband started eating without me. Meal used to come with a side salad but ours didn't today. Unfortunately not impressed and won't look to return.
Please be very careful if you are a Coeliac as previously they have been so careful about that.
I was in gluten free heaven. A wide range of choices on the menu. I went for the traditional fish in batter and chips as I can so rarely take up this option. The batter was the lightest and crispiest ever. The restaurant itself was booked but I had a table outside, blessed with the weather. I was really well looked after by Ellie. Lovely staff and well trained, offering a great service. I would definitely recommend.
Good takeaway OR sit in chippy. Freshly cooked food and selection is varied including home made options. Good for gluten free and various other diets can be asvised
Probably the best gluten free fish and chips I've ever had. Take away price is reasonable but its far too expensive too eat in. Get take away and enjoy!
Great find, being gluten intolerant it is a rare event when I can choose anything from the menu and not have any worries about cross contamination.
The service was attentive and prompt, the food very good. We opted for Haddock and chips with a side of home made Yorkshire caviar (mushy peas). Fully recommended.
Capo Lounge is a must visit in Mansfield. They are part of a chain of “Lounges” which always provides a great menu. We have visited the Capo Lounge many times for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner, and every time the food is perfect. The menu is varied and caters very well for allergens. We have visited with people eating from the vegan and gluten free menus who said the food was tasty and didn’t feel limiting like other places
The drinks are equally as good with a great selection of coffees, teas, soft drinks, beers and cocktails.
The restaurant is well decorated, with a quirky style, and different options for tables or armchairs.
Best Gluten Free Restaurant in the World! Big claim, YES, backed up by the fantastic service & food for myself(Coleaic) & my gluten loving husband. Bonus is they know Seafood.
Outstanding food and wine, and brilliant service from Matt who was very knowledge and helpful. Particularly good for celiac guests - my wife got to have a pie which is a rare treat for the gluten intolerant. I had duck noodles which was a delight!

They know exactly what has and does not have gluten, they are very knowledgeable on how to handle clients with gluten intolorences/allergies. Had great gluten free pancakes!
Beware, if you’re ordering off the gluten free menu DO NOT order the chip cob listed as “gluten free”. The cob isn’t gluten free!! The server let us order a chip cob on the gluten free side after we explicitly said the order was for gluten free fish and chips. Then they asked to package it separately because it contains gluten (??). Then got confused when my coeliac partner was confused why it had gluten in.
Incredible food - we are so lucky to have a full-time Gluten Free fish and chip shop near us! My only neghative is that they don't deliver to Medway (Strood) else I would eat here a lot more!
We had the £10 fish and chips and it was absolutely amazing as always. I have a gluten intolerance and the batter on my fish is the best I have ever tasted. The alcohol free gin was very nice
some of the most delicious oysters i’ve ever had! juicy and large even tho not prime season. the fish is also so fresh, and there are gluten free options available too. the lobster and shrimp roll was also a showstopper, loaded and delectable! reasonable prices for the quality you’re getting. also amazing views and breeze to be right on the water. seating was fast and ordering was easy via qr but you could go up to ask any questions without worry and everyone was accommodating. great vibes!
Beautiful location for something to eat. Great gluten free options which are cooked separately.

We came yesterday to have a dinner in during visiting Liverpool.
Our waiter Cris was very attentive and friendly also had a good knowledge about menu ( vegan and gluten free).
My son was super happy with children portions.
And the cherry on top was delicious latte ( made by Marina ) I am very picky with coffee and very often weak coffee can destroy all nice experience in restaurant but not this time.
That was brilliant!

I had a great experience here - as a solo diner at the bar. The bar staff were so kind and made me feel very comfortable. I’m very gluten intolerant and they have a menu specially for allergens, which was such a bonus. The food was great, definitely recommend 🌟
