This place is a vibe. The music caters well to all age. Expansive views and delicious meals, this restaurant encapsulates the best parts of San Diego. Usually a restaurant with this tier of views ends up sacrificing the quality of its food, but Coasterra does not. Having Celiac, I often fear eating out bc of gluten exposure. However Erika B was our server and she saved me from ordering an item that WAS MARKED GF! She knew how it was made and advised against ordering and suggested another dish that was delicious. Girl knows what’s up and also made the experience extra special. Highly recommend this spot and hopefully you have the pleasure of dining with Erika as your server!

Great restaurant. It’s been a landmark on Shelter Island for decades. I love the atmosphere inside, huge lodge poles, Timbers, teak floors, and lots of glass with awesome views of San Diego Bay and the downtown skyline. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was our anniversary so they gave us a free dessert. The main course was very good, as were the mai tais . My only complaint was that there wasn’t a lot of gluten free choices and my wife is gluten intolerant. But excellent nevertheless.

This poke store has an excellent assortment of poke choices. I have food allergies and the staff was very knowledgeable about what I could and could not have. The only downside is they don’t offer gluten free soy sauce.

From the outside looking in it looked very elegant and nice but once inside it's a mass of chatter and some tables even yelling to just have a simple conversation. It's an open atrium, so naturally that allows flying critters to accompany your meal. You could not have a nice quiet dinner. The menu has limited gluten free options but some are available but as with any place the possibility of cross contamination is always a possibility. Our server was very polite and knowledgeable with the menu options. Food was slow to come out but tasted very good.

I had a great Dinner at the bar. It was pretty slow at about 7pm on a Wednesday night with June gloom and heavy mist. My martini with blue cheese stuffed olives was great, bar tender very attentive and nice. My diver scallops were crazy good, cooked perfectly with potato gnocchi -all gluten free!! Menu is awesome and clearly delineates "dietary issues". So important for wheat and other allergies.
