This is simply the best gluten free fish and chips I have had.
The gluten free curry sauce is outstanding, smooth and spot on.
They also prepare in-house tartare sauce which tastes as it should, albeit the portions are small.
Don't forget to order the pineapple fritters. For fish and chips I don't go anywhere else, and I drive quite a few miles to Scarborough.
Keep this good quality up please.
I'm a severe coeliac and have z lactose intolerance. Cateredfor me with ease and friendliness. Food was great! It's been ages since I've had proper fish and chips! Highly recommend.
Lovely place. Had tapas Tuesday. The food was exceptional and service was excellent also. Their menu is really varied with superb range of dishes. They also have one of the best gluten free menus I've seen!
When we arrived for our booking we had high expectations as I'm Coeliac and the manager was very informative and provided me with all the relevant information. We placed our order which again we had high hopes. The starters came, mine was OK and all eaten, my husband had prawns which came in a skillet with bread. He couldn't eat the bread as it burnt and stuck to the bottom of the skillet. When our mains came out they were cold we both had sea food pasta dishes and the seafood was even cold. These were sent back and one of the young waiters said I will get them reheated, we replied with don't reheat them. The manager came with 2 more dishes and reassured me that they were freshly cooked, I had mine, my husband however didn't as it put him off so just had garlic bread. We did inform the manager of this which she replied with "I have taken these off your bill and I am really sorry". I did inform her it wasn't her fault, but the kitchens at fault. I couldn't eat all mine as it was dry and bland. We will not be returning.
Sue and Lizzie served us last week and I can honestly say they were the best shop bought chips I've had in a long time, Not greasy at all , hot and full of flavour......and plenty of them ! I cant understand anyone saving the portions are small...they are not. You can choose different portions sizes if you want but there is always plenty of them. I'm coeliac and I was hoping that I would be able to get a gluten free batter , alas the dedicated fryer is broken and as they are not cheap it will be next year before a new one is ordered . This was very politely explained to me with numerous apologies......regardless of that the chips were 10/10 and its well worth a visit if you are taking in the Scarbados sea front.
Thanks again Sue , Lizzie and all the team
First time here since they moved from their old cramped premises. Same quality and experience. I don't eat wheat and they have gluten free options so it's a rare treat for me to be able to have a proper meal out.
Great options for gluten free. Tends to get busy on evenings, and when there is a concert on at the Open air theatre, so pre booking is advised! Blue light card is accepted here too !
This hidden gem of a fish n chip restaurant not only welcomes dogs but families too and best of all caters for Gluten Free.
Fantastic - lovely and historic -
I was very excited to try The Princess when I saw they advertised Gluten Free Fish & Chips. Sadly it didn't live up to expectations.
The waitress couldn't tell me how big the medium or large fish were when ordering, nor did she offer to ask the kitchen.
The batter on the fish was over cooked and not light and golden as advertised.
Based on today's visit I wouldn't eat there again!
Food ok
Service not great .
A lot of rushing around and not attentive at all.
Wouldn’t change gluten free bread on any dishes.
Tables left with dirty plates , difficult to get someone’s attention, shell found in our breakfast but nobody came to us for a mid meal check back.
Shame really as it’s a very lovey looking cafe but won’t rush back.
Delicious gluten free fish and chips with very large portions. Service was excellent with friendly and polite staff.
Plenty of parking around the back of the restaurant.
Koda is a place I love to go for a stunning hot chocolate, and perhaps a gluten free treat when I can.
Great staff, and Koda also supports local artists with regular exhibitions.
Handy for town, too, as Koda isn't too far from the railway station and town centre.
A lovely evening meal with work colleagues for a Christmas get-together! A large menu with lots of choice, including gluten free options. Food arrived quickly and was very tasty. Popular with groups and families.
A family meal at this popular Scarborough Italian restaurant. Have to say this meal was outstanding. I had the gluten free garlic bread (with cheese, yum) and the gluten free pasta ariabiata, delicious.
The food was perfect and so tasty.
The service was friendly and fun.
I would suggest booking a table if you would like to eat here.
A lovely evening had by all.
Today I’ve had a few hours in Scarborough.
I was delighted to find this lovely coffee shop tucked away in the corner of the Brunswick Centre.
It’s light, bright and clean with easy access frontage to the counter etc and a small amount of seating and there’s more seating out in the covered central area of the Centre ( maybe 30 seats).
Although I only had time for a cuppa as I had a train to catch, it was great to see a variety of plant based milks available at no extra charge.
Bonus points for the amazing gluten free cakes available and not the boring gf chocolate cake that seems to be the standard offering in many places.
Will definitely be back!
Fantastic place - great food, great value, great place to eat. Staff were friendly and fun. Really good experience here. Easy to get gluten free options.
Another amazing evening at Embers, thank you. Food was delicious, cocktails 10/10, fabulous service and your gluten free options look and taste as good as the real thing.
Lovely cafe situated just off the main streets in the centre of Scarborough town centre. Really worth a visit as the food here is amazing!
I'm coeliac and they were able to cater gluten free for me- I was advised all options on the menu except two could be adapted to be gluten free for me which was brilliant!
Food tasted amazing (the gluten free option pic is the halloumi wrap which was done on a gluten free ciabatta roll instead) and tasted amazing!
Didn't stay to try the cakes unfortunately but there was a gluten free lemon drizzle on offer!
Excellent gluten free cones and great choice but very stingy with the scoop size! Everything else was perfect it was such a shame, you really didn’t get your moneys worth.
Best cafe in Scarborough.
The cafe is Vegan/Gluten Free food only.
I'm Gluten intolerant and although my partner isn't Gluten intolerant or Vegan, he really enjoys the food here.
Friendly staff and atmosphere. Clean.
Waiting times aren't long.
Wi-fi
Absolutely brilliant place - the service is excellent and the food was really good. They are super switched on around allergens etc. and the Gluten Free burger was one of the best we'd had, even had GF beers to wash it down with. Would highly recommend.
Lovely staff, lady we.think her name was Morgan, very friendly polite and professional, all other staff also attentive. Very good with vegan and gluten-free options as in Scarborough it's difficult to find, but at Askims they were thorough and careful with my dietary requirements. We would definitely recommend 👌
A lovely little cafe with a lovely view serving a great range of food.
I'm a coeliac and had such a choice of gluten free food. The cheesecake was really good. On another day I had a delicious chilli meal. Great coffee too.
I’m gluten intolerant and I’ve never seen a non-chain takeaway pizza place to have gluten free bases. The gluten free pizza was absolutely amazing. It looked like a wheat base and had the lovely crusty chewy crust like one. This was defo home made. No Schar frozen base in sight (shame on you Domino’s!). I’d died and gone to heaven! If only you had a place in Derby. First place I’ll be visiting when I return to Scarborough.
A nice place to meet friends or a client (in my case). Service was very quick and I had a tea and a cake.
I understand there is a gluten free menu, which is great news for me and others who follow a GF diet.
Literally the perfect place to relax! The atmosphere is so cozy and lovely and the staff are really warm and welcoming. It’s always difficult to find places that have good gluten free options but their gluten free food is genuinely great!
We found this pub by searching for gluten free eateries before visiting Scarborough & we were not disappointed. The menu has a large selection of gluten free options. My husband enjoyed the vegan chilli & rice.
I'm also dairy intolerant and as soon as I said this the waitress went and got the allergen listing so we could ensure I picked something that was suitable - I had the scampi. The rest of our party had a burger & giant Yorkshire pudding with pork. Everything was a decent size and good tasting. The chilli was nice & spicy.
Great selection of drinks including non alcoholic alternatives. They made our daughter a yummy decaf caramel latte.
We sat indoors, the place is like a TARDIS, from the front it looks tiny with a large outdoor seating area facing the South bay but once inside it goes back a fair way and there is a variety of seating available for varying sized groups. We sat in a bay. Toilets were up th stairs to the rear of the building.
We'd definitely visit here again.
Pass this place many times but could never get in it with a mobility scooter as it’s so busy but small and finally managed it. Staff are very friendly and happily help me as tables/chairs are close together. Had drinks & afternoon tea was nice, would recommend and it’s dog friendly too big thumbs up 👍❤️ nice to feel welcome as a lot of places don’t want you in with mobility chairs also do gluten free items - 5 stars
My two Greyhounds made themselves right at home here. 🏡 They were made welcome, its beautifully clean and the decor is lovely, lots of twinkling lights a cosy carpet and booths to sit in. The food was excellent, I'm celiac so it was great to see gluten free options. Lovely sandwiches with side salad 🥗 😋 very happy!
Lovely staff and lovely food, the place has a really nice style inside and a good selection of choices for starters and mains. Caters very well for gluten and other intolerances
First time at Seven for years ... and it was so much better than I remembered 👌🏻 it's dog friendly , and the dogs get a free sausage when you spend over £5 . They do gluten free food too 😋 so I could enjoy really good food and not worry. It was really busy when we went for brunch, but the girls were super efficient, so polite , and nothing was too much trouble ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A fabulous find - delicious food, a friendly welcome and multiple dishes that were naturally gluten free, or could be made GF. As a Coeliac it really is the icing on the cake to not feel like the afterthought in terms of menu choices. We'll be back again and again and again 😊 Thank you.
You will be surprised how good this place is, the menu is limited in range, but wide on options, with gluten free highlighted, the staff are to a fault helpful, pleasant and supportive and the environment simply stunning.
We ate at Cafe Fish for the first time last night and it was just fantastic. As a coeliac, eating out can sometimes be a bit of a trial, so being able to choose from such an extensive GF menu absolutely delighted me. All four of our dishes looked great and tasted amazing. Thank you so much. Now we've discovered you, we will DEFINITELY see you again. Wholeheartedly recommended.
Wow!
This little gem punches way beyond its weight!
Andre the Italian owner - chef, provides the customers with typical Italian cuisine.
No delusions of grandeur here, just provision of the authentic delicious real genuine Italian food.
The sit-down cosy restaurant is an intimate setting for that celebratory evening, and the table service is second to none, just right.
Feel the Italian ambience, Italians really are good with food.!
This little restaurant is relatively new, it’s definitely a little gem and it is fast becoming a go -to stop for the genuine discerning foodie.
No airs & graces, no frills, the focus of course is on the provision of genuine quality Italian food.
We love it.!
It’s also a great place for take-away Pizza, excellent Italian quality of course.
Dante is a most welcome addition to Scarborough’s eateries, it’s one of the only Italian owned & managed truly Italian food establishments.
No fake or Anglicised Italian cuisine here.
Quality matters.!
Booking is advisable to guarantee your table.
Gluten free is catered for, and as always, with pleasure.
Best smoothies you can imagine! Rich, full of vitamins, exceptionally tasty. My favourite one is Blueberry with Almond Butter. Francesca’s offers smoothie, cake, vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options.
