We just celebrated my sisters birthday and Jamie, our server, managed our large table with efficiency and top notch service. I have a gluten intolerance and everyone was so conscientious that I felt totally comfortable. I had the Mediterranean chicken with the accompanying GF cookie and ice cream and it was delicious. Thanks, BJ's!
I love Aladdin’s. They have so many gluten free, vegetarian, and vegetarian options. The waitress was very accommodating to my gluten allergy and the baba ganoush was so good. The feel is family owned and local!
The food was very good, as it always is. I don't eat from the buffet because I like the flavors of Indian food but I cannot have spicy (I have GI issues), so I order from the menu at a level 1 heat. They seemed offended that I wanted to order from the menu. I don't know why, it's definitely more expensive than the buffet. My son and his wife ordered the buffet.
I also brought wine because they have a very limited wine menu. When they first installed the bar years ago they would still let you bring your own wine for the corkage fee. That is no more and they seemed offended that I asked. I honestly didn't know their policy had changed. So, that was fine, I left my wine in the bag I ordered wine from their menu.
After my dinner came out I asked for some raita. That was met with what I would characterize as distain.
Finally, since it was my son's birthday and his wife has gluten sensitivities I had brought some french macarons and one small birthday candle so that we could quietly sing. His wife and I literally whisper sang because we were becoming increasingly aware that the staff were giving us the side eye. After that I asked for a check and some boxes for my leftovers (again, NOT FROM THE BUFFET) and they seemed taken aback. But I had ordered the lamb tikka masala, and a garlic nan, and a vegetable korma all from the menu. It was a lot of food and I wasn't about to throw it all away.
Food was still amazing but by the time I paid the check we felt very uncomfortable being there. My son said he felt like everyone was staring at us.
I have been going to this restaurant for decades and have never been made to feel uncomfortable until last night. It's a shame that the service has changed so might that we didn't feel welcome. And it's not like the place was packed. We went at 7:00 and there were several open tables throughout the seating area. Not sure what was going on that evening but I'll have to think twice about going back.
Also, they now provide Styrofoam for leftovers, not the foil containers they used to use. That is like a throw back in time. Fast food places don't even use Styrofoam any more. The service has certainly changed since the new ownership. For shame.
Amazing place for breakfast. As a person with Celiac disease it's hard to find quality breakfast locations but here they had it all. They restored my desire for breakfast foods. They were also helpful and let me know which items could be accommodated to be made gluten free and those that could not. Helpful staff, delicious food.
Certainly! Here’s a sample review for Mad Mex:

Mad Mex is an absolute gem in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania! Every visit is a delightful experience filled with vibrant flavors and a welcoming atmosphere. The menu offers a fantastic variety of Mexican-inspired dishes, with everything from hearty burritos to fresh and flavorful tacos.
What truly sets Mad Mex apart is the quality of their ingredients and the creativity of their dishes. The Big Azz Margarita is a must-try, and their guacamole is always fresh and delicious. Whether you're a fan of spicy food or prefer something milder, there’s something for everyone.
The service is consistently friendly and efficient, making you feel right at home. The lively and eclectic decor adds to the fun, casual dining experience. Mad Mex also caters well to dietary preferences, with plenty of vegetarian and gluten-free options.
Overall, Mad Mex is a go-to spot for anyone looking to enjoy a great meal in a lively, fun environment. Highly recommended.
This is the first restaurant I've been to with a concept in pittsburgh, like an actually thought out comfortable restaurant concept, easily the best gluten free bun in pittsburgh (Ive had about 13 burgers here and this is easliy the best I assure you) my burger was made exactly how I wanted, and it was delicious my server mallory was amazing, I got evertything exactly as I wanted it as did my girlfriend. I actually looked at my woman and said, "I want to come here for my birthday," and the only other place I've said that about is the fine french establishment in the city, Paris 66... Come here and bring your family it will be good food and a good time.
I adore this place. Fire side tables, easy eats thst please a crowd and picky eaters. Fun staff who are friendly and vegan/gluten free options too.
Def try the potato taco.
Only thing I'd like to see them do is start serving horchata and Agua frescas!
Was great food! This was the first fast food restaurant since finding out I was allergic to gluten actually have accommodations for me. Didnt think I could ever eat normally somewhere again and I felt normal. Wonderful staff very nice and kind. Only thing I would say is go during an odd hour we had to circle the parking lot 3 times for a spot lol
Wonderful experience here! Special shout out to Andrew, who made my salad. He took great care navigating gluten free items, grabbing fresh ingredients that were more prone to cross contact. He checked the spice mix on the chicken to make sure it was safe for me. I really appreciate his thoroughness. The salad was spectacular. It is mixed in a larger bowl before being squished into a container with so much salad it’s bursting.
I highly recommend the build your own, as you get as many side toppings as you want. The fries are delicious and crispy, for only $3, might as well grab an order. I would say they could use a container instead of just the bag, but it works.
Thank you Andrew for an amazing experience! We will be back.
Honestly, one of the best Mexican restaurants around. The staff understood the celiacs concerns we had and made recommendations accordingly. Food was prompt and delicious and GF. Definitely plan to make the trip for another round of grub!!
What a gem of a Thai restaurant here North of Pittsburgh. Definitely the best Thai restaurant in my humble opinion. The waitstaff are attentive and will change the menu selection to meet your dietary needs. My favorite is Bangkok street noodles, my wife gets pad tai and it was fresh, with the right amount of spices and flavor. They make it gluten free for her by customizing it. The drinks were always kept topped up and we were asked several times during the meal if we needed anything else. I got extra hot sauce and extra garlic with a smile.
You have to try this place for sure. It is so good and close to downtown and the heart of North Hills.

I have celiac disease, so I’m allergic to wheat. Very difficult for me to find pizza that’s safe to eat. FOOD ALLERGIES SUCK. The gentleman that took my order was courteous and disclosed the risk of cross contamination. He went above and beyond to prepare my food as safely as possible, limiting cross contamination by using the back oven. I really appreciated his kindness, and the pizza was the best gluten free pizza I’ve had in Pittsburgh area! I will definitely be back!
Dependable neighborhood restaurant. The pizzas and subs are great. Love the gluten free buffalo chicken pizza. Almost always ready within 20-30 minutes as well. Definitely recommend.
This is my wife and I's favorite place to eat. Excellent beer selection, gluten free options, good food and atmosphere, friendly staff and ownership, etc.
Excellent food. Very friendly and helpful service! Everything tasted amazing. Corn tortillas were gluten free and delicious. Would highly recommend! Will definitely come back!
