This place was so good we came back the next day because we couldn’t stop thinking about it. I have celiac and the celiac waffle was incredible. My husband loved the paffles! The owners were so friendly and welcoming. Definitely going to be a tradition on our next trips to Charlottesville!

Nearly everything on the menu — including the chips — is gluten-free! Their new printed menu doesn’t show GF menu items though, strangely. The waiters were confused that nothing was labeled and had to go back to consult with the old menu. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

If I could give the service zero stars, I would. I ordered through DoorDash and did not receive part of my order, which was for a coworker - a gluten free pizza (the only thing she can eat). We contacted DoorDash and they asked us to call Mellow Mushroom. I spoke to a manager who went back and forth with me regarding getting MY money back. He was rude and impatient, when at that point all I wanted was my money back for something I did not get. Maybe the Dasher kept the other pizza, but it would have made the experience better to talk to a nicer manager. I will not be returning to this location.

Delicious smoothie bowls with awesome protein options. Definitely going here again. Also so many gluten free options (the entire store might be naturally gluten free). Very creative menu and create-your-own options too. The cold brew bowl was great and I got the cocoa added in plus chocolate maca protein powder 2x (that's 25 grams of plant-based protein)! I added in cacao nibs too. Lovely breakfast and atmosphere!

Extremely delicious food! Was in the town for the weekend and stopped in for brunch because I saw this restaurant was exclusively plant-based. I got the gluten-free savory waffles (under the brunch menu waffles 2 ways) which could quite easily be the tastiest breakfast I’ve ever had. Was able to eat outdoors and enjoy the weather too ☀️ Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back and try some more!

I was looking for a healthy breakfast after my cycle workout and this was absolute perfection. I had the avocado toast with lox (they even have gluten free options, which I had) with a smoothie. It was delightful and the ambiance is super fresh. Go experience it for yourself :-)

We had an absolutely fantastic meal here on Valentine's Day. Even on a busy night, we were seated promptly for our reservation, but not rushed through our meal. The drinks menu is delightful, and the zero-proof options are thoughtful and complex. We had delicious appetizers (GF Corn Muffins, yum!) but could have skipped the chicken wings. Entrees were delicious and both of us commented on how nice it was that the dishes came with several accompany vegetables - it made it feel like a complete meal without having to order a ton of sides. Finally, the desserts were delicious - the chocolate mud pie is definitely shareable, and we also enjoyed the banana pudding. One of us ordered gluten free items and they were all delicious, definitely recommend for dietary restrictions!

Stop reading this review now and get to Kanak Indian Kitchen. Everything about this restaurant is spectacular— food, atmosphere, service, drinks. They have an awesome gluten free naan and clear specifications for GF. The rice, the mango chutney, the sauces… I mean, wow. I’m actually sitting in the restaurant now for lunch writing this review because it couldn’t wait. I got an Anjali’s Elixir which was an out-of-this-world, write-home flavor experience. Go, go now!!! I can’t wait to be hungry again so I may come back.

I have a new found eating place. Being celiac, there are not many options for noodle dishes, but omgosh, I had an amazing meal finally, pasta and grilled chicken with alfredo sauce,and I even got an extra to go and a rice crispy treat that was so big and 😋 😋 yummy

Service was so friendly! There is a variety of options for vegans, gluten free, vegetarian, and people who can eat about anything. Everything was delicious from the Thai iced tea to the Crying Tiger and pad Thai. Monsoon Siam is located on the downtown mall in Charlottesville. Great spot to go for a work lunch, night with friends, or a date!

I wish, I could give 10 stars to this place! The sandwiches are so delicious, the gluten-free options are a big A+, customer service is another A+, the restaurant is always cleaned and neat! I want to compliment all the guys who work at MC, they greet the customers when they arrive and leave. Something, you don’t see anymore in young people! Loved this place! My husband and i went on valentines day and it was super busy, but they took the time to chat with us and remade our order when we accidentally ordered the wrong thing. I also had the gluten free pizza and it was actually really good. Highly recommend!! Great food, even greater service.

Had a long out the front, but the staff was quick to get everyone through. The homemade pastries were so delicious with some vegetarian and gluten free options. The staff were friendly and helpful all while being quick on their feet our entire time we were there. A rather cute place and well worth a visit.

Gluten free buns available for any of the sandwiches!!! This is not on their menu nor did I see it posted "just had to ask". Yum! Fresh home style pulled chicken sandwich the "winner" "winner" absolutely delicious and completely unexpected. After attempting to pick it up and failing miserably I actually ate my sandwich with a knife and fork! The tortilla chips were great - not like your traditional tortilla chips. Nice and clean place with outdoor seating available. Cashier was very friendly and helpful.

I almost put four stars but then felt guilty. The reason being the portion sizes seem small for the price, but I'm going to add the caveat that I live in a rural area, where things are dirt cheap. So it's likely my bias. That aside, the food was great. I got a ham and brie and they had gluten free bread which is always exciting. Gluten free is well marked on the menu. overall, a nice little lunch spot.

Loved the caramel vanilla latte prepared perfectly to my requested customizations! The egg/spinach/cheddar breakfast sandwich was the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had especially on the gluten free rosemary English muffin from Orange Dot bakery. Thank you for making me aware of Orange Dot! The mellow mango smoothie was so refreshing and not too sweet! Thank you for great friendly service! I'll be back for sure!

This was one of the best breakfast experiences I’ve had! The service was fantastic and our waitress was able to easily accommodate my gluten free diet. Our entrees were great, coffee was delicious, and the inn vibes were cozy. Definitely worth a stop!

Recently visited Monticello and came across these crackers. On my way out of town put in gluten free into my search and found the actual store. Pecan power balls delish. I’ve had two types of crackers packed with fiber and flavor. Highly recommend. Best gf vegan crackers I’ve had.

Ordered a gluten free sub online. Went in to pick it up and I was early so I was watching the sub being made. They had an assembly line going and my GF sun was passed down with the regular subs. So the person cutting and wrapping the subs didn’t change her gloves and had her hands all over my GF sun after touching regular bread. She went to hand it to me and I told her I wasn’t taking that sub, she had her hands all over it. She said she didnt know it was GF. I said to the person who passed her my sandwich that maybe he should have told her it was a GF sun. He got all pissy on me telling me “I made your sandwich right!!! Don’t come at me!” The lady turned around and said I’ll make you another one. I said “no, just give me a refund”. No, I’m making you a new one. I said honestly I just want a refund. So she calls out the “manager”. The manager comes out and says to me in this aggressive tone “It was a MISTAKE, maam. We all make mistakes!” Then proceeds to tell her staff that she’s sick of these people. OK. How about “Gosh, maam, I’m so sorry this happened. Here, let me give you a card for a free sub. We’d love it if you came back and gave us another try.” Nope. This girl wins the award for worst customer service ever. This location is about 20 minutes from me. The Merchant Walk location is 30 minutes from me. I make the drive to Merchant Walk every time now because the service there is incredible. See my review of their location where almost the same situation happened yet was handled amazingly.

We had The Local cater our wedding and it was an amazing experience! We had tons of options and everything was customizable. The biscuit bar immediately sold us too! Our dinner was a plated meal and it was similar to restaurant style set up and serving. We were able to have children’s meals as well as vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free plates for guests! No one went hungry or thirsty! The staff was enjoyable and floated through the venue like pros making sure everything was managed and everyone was happy. They 100% contributed to the smoothness of the evening. My glass was always full and I was met with politeness and hospitality. During the planning phase we even were invited to the restaurant for a meal and were shown great hospitality then too. I would definitely recommended this location to anyone looking for a GREAT meal and GREAT service.

They use a gluten-free sauce and all of their foods. I was so excited because I so sell them get to eat Asian food without a belly ache. We had the drunken noodles which were fabulous and much more full of vegetables that I'm used to getting. My boyfriend had the chicken and I had the tofu. Both were delicious. This was such a quaint spot to stop into while browsing the Downtown Mall area of Charlottesville! It’s a little hidden and we stumbled upon it by accident, but I believe that adds to the charm of the place. It’s on the top floor so you will need to walk up steps and I didn’t see an elevator for those with mobility concerns. At the top you’re greeted by a Bedouin themed area with both table and chair seating and traditional Bedouin style seating (low tables and cushions for seats). There is also a private seating area in the back with similar Bedouin style seating and a few outdoor table/chair seats. Although it has varying tea options, there were a decent amount of food options as well. The restaurant is vegetarian with a decent number of vegan options as well. They do also have the option to add salmon to some of their dishes if you prefer meat protein. Vegetarian/Vegan/Gluten Free options are labeled on the menu so no need for guessing. We ordered Blossoming Tea, the Smoked Salmon Sandwich with a side of Dahl, the Coconut Cardamon Cake, and the Vegan Spice Cake. First time trying dahl so for those who also haven’t tried it before, it’s made of lentils so tastes like a grainer porridge. We enjoyed the spice cake but found the Cardamon Teacake a tad dry. The Smoked Salmon Sandwich was wonderful. As a tea enthusiast this was a great visit, but this is also a must visit if you just want a cool place to take a break or if you want a cozy spot to eat. Wonderful dinner and service. We were so happy that the heat broke and we were able to eat outside. Our server kept our water glasses full which was very appreciated since it was still warm. I am Gluten, Dairy and soy free so I always worry what I'll be able to eat. The server helped me pick and I got the brussel sprouts over grits with chicken. I also had a few cocktails, My husband had the salmon burger The Ego Boost is a really nice cocktail, I would recommend it if you like bourbon. We finished the night with the GF almond and olive oil cake that was to die for. Excellent dinner and experience overall.

My wife and I had an amazing experience and meal here. My wife has celiac disease and normally when we go out to eat the questions we have about gluten free options are usually seen as an inconvenience or burden. Our visit tonight was quite the contrary! Paul went through the menu item by item and did it with an enthusiasm that shows his love for serving others and love for food. The meal was exquisite and next time we are in Charlottesville we will be back. Ask for Paul!!!

Had a wonderful experience here. HUGE selection of beer from all over the Americas. They even have GLUTEN FREE BEER! The best two brands IMO. Had dinner and many laughs.
