Amazing food! Lovely place to visit, and the staff are really nice. We had a super grumpy toddler upon arrival and they gave him crayons and a picture to colour to try and cheer him up. Our other son has Coeliac Disease and we searched for GF in Newcastle which is how we came across them and SO glad we did. If we ever come back to Newcastle we will definitely visit this lovely place again. Highly recommend, thank you
Went for tea after receiving a £15 birthday gift card from the restaurant group. Was a lovely evening, gluten free pizza and fries. Chocolate brownie with ice cream for dessert. Very nice.
Elliot at ziti’s Grey street, Newcastle was amazing. Excellent customer, nothing was too much trouble and as gluten free customers, that’s is rare to find. Elliot is a Wonderful human, the food was incredible. Love the pasta crisps too and we can’t wait to visit again - thanks
Great food although the allergy book was a little confusing for this coeliac. They did have gluten free options and the pizza was very tasty. I was part of a large party and the others enjoyed several cocktails on the 90 minute limit. The service was good and everyone was friendly.
Delicious breakfast with easy adaptations for gluten free, good portions and all the cakes looked incredible!
The matcha vanilla latte was the most delicious drink I've had in a while! Thanks so much ☺️
First visit and wow I enjoyed it all the service I received from Laura was great explaining they have separate fryers etc as I have coeliac disease and the food tasted amazing Thankyou
Brilliant service, we were asked when we arrived if there were any dietary or allergy concerns - I stated I have Coeliac and they gave me a lot of information about how they have separate GF fryers, showed me how to find the allergen menu and even advised me not to steal a waffle fry from my boyfriend as they’re not gluten free! Caitlin served us and she was fab, really helped explain everything and made me so comfortable. Ideal for anyone gluten free!
Service and quality of the food was excellent, however the increase in price since my last visit was a shock. Other restaurants on Dean Street and Grey Street charge around £12 for pizzas, Prima is now £18... and £5 extra for gluten free option is disappointing. I'll be looking at alternative restaurants next time.
Amazing Italian food, and wide range of varieties available. They also cater for vegetarian and gluten free dietary restrictions. I personally enjoy their thin crust pizza.
Had breakfast here with my son before catching my train. The gluten free French breakfast, it was very nice, I was especially happy with gf black pudding, not had it for years. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
WOW, the food was so good, we originally started out planning to have two courses but couldn’t resist a third. Their homemade gluten free bread was the best bread I’ve had since being diagnosed coeliac. The staff took my allergies extremely seriously and made us feel very welcome. I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough, it was mind blowing.
Lovely pizza restaurant. Plenty of gluten and dairy free options. Knowledgeable staff. Could of done with more staff on when we went as it took a while to get attention once our pizzas were finished and we wanted pudding. Lovely vibe to the place.
I really like this place. Really good gluten free options. The chicken souvlaki skewers are great for a lunch on its own or with a starter for a larger meal. Everything is lovely and fresh. Staff are excellent.
Up there with one of the best bottomless in Newcastle. Super fast service they take your next drink order as they bring you your drink. Food is lovely, just the right amount if you’re out for a drink. Really flavourful and something totally different. Good price for what you’re getting, think we had about 10-15 drinks so it’s well worth the price! Also, didn’t apply to us but I did notice they had brilliant dietary options for everyone (gluten free etc)
Amazing service from Ana she couldn’t do enough for us and was super quick, impressively so! Will be returning soon to try their main menu. Massively recommend!
We had a lovely time at City Tavern. We had a yummy lunch, including gluten free beer on tap. Lots of gluten free and vegetarian food options available. The vibe inside was lovely and the staff were really really nice and very attentive!! There was free wifi, free charging ports and very comfy chairs.
An added bonus is that they show movies for free at 2pm, 5pm and 8pm everyday on their giant outdoor screen!! Such a great vibe, definitely recommend as a stop in during a day in Newcastle.
Really lovely little place. Good gluten free options. Most sandwiches with GF bread. Even the tater tots can be GF and were delicious! My sister got the Mediterranean flatbread which looked amazing and I had a cheese and onion toastie which was very nice. Coffees were great. They were accommodating of us having a baby in a pram. Table service was a bonus as the counter area is small. We didn’t have any cakes but they looked lovely and were a few GF options too.
Loved it.
The restaurant us in quite an amazing space. No idea what the building used to be, but was and indeed still is very impressive. I'll be investigating the history of the building in due course.
The staff were great. Friendly, attentive but not overly so.
The food was delicious. The ability to choose between 3 types of pasta (4 if you include gluten free) was refreshing. The option of spaghetti only with certain dishes puts me off choosing them ordinarily. So Pasta Roma with penne it was.
2 pasta dishes, 250ml wine, 2 pints of Peroni, 1 cappuccino, 2 desserts a touch under £65.
Well it is pizza express, just one of those chains going through the daily monotomy of making pizza.
The best part ... the food was paid for by Tesco Clubcard Vouchers on a 2:1 basis. So just £23 pounds spent on two pizzas and a sharing platter.
As can be seen from the sharing platter, a lot of food for three people. Everything stored and reproduced for the masses at minimal cost. Definitely no love here. There was enough cheese to redistribute to the local community. The bread was crispy to the extent I did not know whether to use a gum sheild to stop my gums from being lacerated or take it to the local radio station for acoustic effects, for breaking glass.
Now the gluten free base .... recipe not right cooking very poor. See photo. Very very thin, brown and hard and dry and hard and just rock hard. The centre was cooked for the first nanometre and raw dough on top. Take a look at the Classia Pollo Italiano, just raw dough above a wafer thin cooked layer. With the ingredients on top looking like the night before's take away.
Come on Pizza Express you are better than this. Put some love back in your food.
Customer services asked us for more details, which I supplied. Thank you, we look forward to redeeming our vouchers and our next visit 🤞.
Thank you to Wendy for making me feel so welcome. She is a lovely friendly lady who made me delicious gluten free crepes and the best cappuccino on coconut milk. Thanks Wendy you are the best 😃
Had a vegan strawberry ice cream that was also gluten free and made with Soy. It had a lovely flavour and creamy texture. It was nice to be offered a choice and catered to with allergies. Would definitely go again.

Addicted to the Naked Deli! Delicious healthy gluten-free food! Particularly love the "healthy" chocolate bars - would go as far to say prefer them over old school chocolate bars!
Tortilla is always a great place for not only amazing food, but for getting something great to eat when you have gluten and dairy intolerances. Staff are very helpful and knowledgeable, in both Newcastle and Edinburgh.
GLUTEN FREE REVIEW! Had a lovely gluten free Sunday lunch today. When we rang for the order, we were told I could be catered for with the exception of roasties and Yorkshire puds....that was fine. However, they called us back a few minutes later to say they would make separate gluten free roasties for me! This may seem like a small deal, but when you require gluten free (not a choice) it's hard to find places to eat, so the fact they did this went a long way for me! Thank you La Famiglia 😊

Booking a birthday meal for a carnivore (with an intolerance to various nuts,) and three vegetarians (one of whom can't have dairy, and one of whom can't have dairy, soy or gluten) felt like an impossible challenge - but the team at Peace & Loaf were brilliant!
The chefs adapted the long tasting menu for all of our requirements. The presentation was exquisite, and the dishes varied and beautifully cooked.
We were made so welcome, and had a really lovely evening. The staff were attentive, and talked us through each dish - happy to answer our questions about interesting herbs and flavours.
It was a expensive treat for us - but we felt it was excellent value for money, and well worth splashing out on, for a special occasion.
Great food for takeaway or eat in. Presentation is fantastic and good portion sizes. The staff are friendly and helpful and happy to give advice about the food with many allergen friendly and gluten free options available. Service is very quick.
On our return journey home to St Helens we were looking for somewhere to stop and have breakfast that catered for my wife who is coeliac and needs gluten-free options.
Well this place is perfect, just 2 minutes off the A69, with parking at the rear or on the main road. It’s a quiet village so no problem parking. However you may need to book in advance as this place is popular, and no wonder.
What made our visit all the more pleasant was the people, not just the staff, also the locals, especially Gladys and Nellie, and they were just two dogs on the next table (adorable Cocker-poo’s) their owners were equally as nice and have to mention Billy another lovely local guy.
Anyway, we had two full breakfasts, my wife had gluten-free toast and sausage and have to say it was beautiful.
There was also a selection of gluten-free cakes available (if you just wanted a cake and a brew after a walk), we decided to take two slice of the gluten-free lemon drizzle cake home in a box, which I’ve just finished and was equally as tasty.
The perfect end to a great weekend (hello to the two lovely ladies we may see you camping one day) and thank you to all at the Hearth Cafe ❤️
Found this on the GFme app. Is only a couple of miles from my house but had no idea it was there. My son is a Coeliac and had NEVER had Chinese food (he's 18!) before so was quite a treat to see such an impressive selection of meals that were either GF of could be adapted to GF. We ordered a fair selection if food so he could try a few things and it was a big hit. So THANK YOU to the owners for making the effort and we will be sure to let as many people as possible on various gluten free platforms that you can offer this service.
Scarlett was fab when we came for bottomless brunch. I have a gluten allergy and Scarlett made sure the food was gluten free. Would definitley recommend!
Absolutely delicious indian food, service impeccable, catered very well for gluten intolerances which makes a lovely change, definitely going to be returning. Would recommend.
I've been here quite a few times and it's always been fabulous!
Lovely little spot for some lunch or a quick coffee. Forgot to take any photos apart from of my caramel shortbread but trust me when I say its lovely and cosy inside
Service was great, very friendly and helpful staff
They even offer gluten free options which was great for my partner as they got to enjoy a cheese scone with me!
Would recommend to anyone passing by!

I had a gluten free burger and my friend had a taco dish both were really nice and tasty. The service was good and out waitress had a good knowledge of gluten-free dishes. The atmosphere was nice, we had a table in the corner at the back which was nice and private. We had a nice time and would recommend it.
Went for breakfast and it was all fantastic. The Middle Eastern breakfast was genuinely the best breakfast meal I've ever had. Could not recommend more. Had plenty of choice on the Gluten Free menu too for my partner who also really enjoyed it
Staff very welcoming, food was excellent, decor was really unusual and lovely, dogs allowed here. Gluten free options available. Very popular. It is in the student area of Jesmond.
Tables are a collection of different things, like and old school desk, or sewing machine stand.
A very enjoyable experience.
We had a wonderful lunch and were so well taken care of by Shabba. My son has Coeliac disease and nothing was too much trouble with regards to making sure he was able to eat safely. Thanks Shabba! We’ll definitely be back!
I came here for them opening at 12pm and was immediately let in by the loveliest server. I ordered a flavoured latte, a burger and the truffle parmesan fries. I have coeliac disease and the care that went into explaining which items are gf and what they could make gf on request was perfect. I felt so accommodated and everything was absolutely delicious. I absolutely will be coming back here - thank you so much again for quite possibly the best food I’ve eaten in Newcastle!!
