We were in the area and looking for somewhere tasty to go for lunch, and after seeing the reviews, we decided we wanted to come to blackies! Even though we were a walk in, they were able to accommodate us and accommodate us, they did. Most of the menu can be made GF, and there are pages, upon pages to this menu. Not only did I enjoy my meal (I got the French Onion Cheesesteak with Fries and it was SUPERB 🤌🏽), but my gluten eating family also had a meal. My Dad even said it was the BEST Ruben he's ever had (and he loves a ruben). Since it was our first time there, our wonderful server was able to field all of my GF/Celiac-related questions with ease. The restaurant is owned by two lovely women: one of whom has Celiac. They have dedicated fryers, AND they have separate kitchen tools (knives, utensils, cutting boards, aprons, etc.) for the preparation of GF meals. On top of all that, my food was brought out FIRST and SEPARATELY. Our server even brought out a new bottle of ketchup with my food so that there wasn't any CC. I felt so well taken care of by the staff, and so safe while we were there, it was a new level of Celiac-care in this dining experience. I cannot more highly recommend blackies if you're ever in RI/Providence!!!

100% dedicated gluten free. Local family with Italian roots, also has some dairy free. Cookies, cupcakes, fried donuts, assorted bread and rolls.

Amazing bar, with the best pretzels you've ever had! I'm addicted to the Barley Bacon Beast Burger, and they have gluten free versions of most all of their food, if that's your jam. The full bar is cozy and offers a rotating drink menu that features local and seasonal brews. Service is prompt and friendly, no matter how busy it gets. Monday night trivia is a lot of fun, but you may want to call ahead, as it gets packed. If you'd rather skip the trivia, there's also foosball, a giant Connect Four, and other games in the back. This is definitely one of my favorite places in town!

They were at this year's Wicked Gluten Free South Shore expo. Very friendly folks running their booth. I bought an éclair from them, and it was DELICIOUS and not too sweet. I can't recall the last time I had a GF éclair. Heaven. Will keep them in mind next time I'm in the area of their shop!

This was the best dining experience I have had in a long time. Since being diagnosed with Celiac, it is really hard to enjoy eating out without fear of “being glutened”. After reading tons of reviews and the allergy safety protocols on their website, we decided to give this place a shot. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with nothing but assurance and the staff were so incredibly kind. There is a food safety coordinator certificate on the hostess stand that is also really impressive. On OpenTable you can say if you’re celebrating something at the time of your reservation, and while I have filled this out before, no restaurant has ever acknowledged it. I mentioned in my reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary and as soon as we walked in the Food Safety coordinator who I also think is the owner told us happy anniversary, followed by the woman who walked us to our table and our waitress. At the end of our meal we were gifted a surprise gluten free crème brûlée with a candle in it! It was just the most special night with the most incredible food. Everyone was so kind. I can’t sing their praises enough.
