Mr. Natural has been doing veg in Austin since 1988 and it was honestly refreshing to visit a vegetarian spot that harkened back to a time when the dining format was as unique in a veggie restaurant as it was to find one at all. Point being there is a little learning curve to dining at Mr. Natural in my opinion. You order at the counter, which is the same order spot for baked goods (which are in three different locations), take out, dine in, juice, grab n go or soft serve. So you need to know what you want (definitely preview the menu online) before you step up to the counter and what your objective is. The staff is very, very helpful and will explain the salad bar (which is a whole other thing) and the validated parking situation (which is another). If you get stuff to dine-in, staff will bring it out and call out your name. They will bring silverware but you are on your own to retrieve water (by the salad bar).
The other interesting throwback I am more thankful for is the food. Almost everything is made in house and is not overly sweet or salty. In this day and age of frozen beyond burger restaurants I could not have been happier. The mole enchiladas were excellent and I bought waaaay too many baked goods to go. I did not realize beforehand that Mr. Natural had the widest and best selection of vegan baked goods in the Austin area with many gluten free options and beautiful custom cakes! This place will go in my regular rotation and I highly recommend it for a breakfast option.

A bit short staffed, but LOVED being able to drink a gluten free beer for the first time in a long time. Burrito bowl was super fresh tasting and we enjoyed a few rounds of trivia
Absolutely LOVE this place. The tacos are SO good. I have Celiac's Disease and have never gotten sick. We have brought numerous friends and family members who are not vegan and they love it too!
I've ordered the pabellon probably 6 or 7 times now and every time its been perfect 🤌 and the service has been always been good. also, its easy to order dairy-free and gluten-free here. i love this place!
The service, the ambiance, and the food are all phenomenal! Great vegan and gluten-free options, and good stuff for meet eaters. Best scallion pancakes I’ve ever had and the three cup mushrooms are out of this world - I ate every grain of rice.
Great place to satisfy that burger and fries craving. The cheese actually tasted like cheese and even the gluten free bun was one of the best I’ve had. Good flavor, nice people, and well-executed concept. The seating area is cute too and looks like there might be live music at times, I’d be interested to come back and check that out too.
I love Launderette, and I got to give a a big shout out to our waiter Adam last night. He was so helpful with picking out dishes as we had folks in our party who were lactose intolerant and had celiac. Also, Adam was very funny! Thank you Adam!
Everything is vegan. Everything can be made gluten free (only the shakes with Oreos in them need gf substitutions). The shakes are a blend coconut and almond milk. There are two sizes, 12oz and 16oz. The Oreo borealis (think mint cookies n cream) and starberry lemon cloud (strawberry w/lemon) are top picks for me. The grackle massacre if you want something chocolate. There can be a short wait sometimes at peak times so if the park is busy and you are also getting food from one of the Nom trucks, I recommend ordering your shakes(s) first. Peak times being around 7pm and around 9pm on hot summer evenings.
East Side King has remained one of my favorite Austin food spots since I tried their brussels sprouts salad at ACL in 2016 (the brussels salad is also one of my favorite renditions of brussels sprouts *ever*).
Just last night I had the pleasure of meeting Cesar who was running the truck, and he was so kind, telling us background about the dishes/recipes and allowing us to try the curry (going so far as to give us a small container of it when we loved it but ultimately ordered another dish).
Incredible food served by wonderful people. If you’re on the east side, you must try. And if you’re not on the east side, make it over there.
Oh and lots of gluten free/veggie options!
A really pleasant spot to grab breakfast or lunch. They have an all day breakfast and lunch menu that is both simple but varied. I had the egg sandwich on gluten-free bread and it was great. They have coffee but nothing espresso based, so black or with milk it is. It was also really busy, so we were lucky to get a table when we arrived as there was a queue from us onwards. Overall I was glad we chose this spot. Worth a try.
Comfort food TexMex style. Stop here before you fly out, it’s on the way from downtown.
I am gluten intolerant, and have no trouble here. Most everything except flour tortillas are safe!
We love Emmer & Rye and Canje, so were very excited to try Ezov. The food was great and the service was very friendly and efficient. As an added bonus- I’m celiac and the menu was very gluten free friendly. There were only a handful of things that were off limits/needed to be modified.
The best meal I've ever had in my entire life. The unique decor and robots delivering some of your meal is adorable and worth checking out in and of itself, but then you take your first bite and.....it's like everything in my life made sense. Hahaha, I was happy dancing in my chair having an emotional experience with each plate! The textures and flavors of every dish and cocktail were perfectly prepared and balanced. Fun, unique flavors and gluten free options for my sister who has celiac. The Chef delivered several of our dishes to us and explained how each was prepared. You could hear the passion and dedication for each dish he brought to us, crafted with love and respect for food. I will definitely be back when visiting Austin again. 100 out of 100.
