We were in the area and looking for somewhere tasty to go for lunch, and after seeing the reviews, we decided we wanted to come to blackies!
Even though we were a walk in, they were able to accommodate us and accommodate us, they did.
Most of the menu can be made GF, and there are pages, upon pages to this menu. Not only did I enjoy my meal (I got the French Onion Cheesesteak with Fries and it was SUPERB š¤š½), but my gluten eating family also had a meal. My Dad even said it was the BEST Ruben he's ever had (and he loves a ruben).
Since it was our first time there, our wonderful server was able to field all of my GF/Celiac-related questions with ease.
The restaurant is owned by two lovely women: one of whom has Celiac. They have dedicated fryers, AND they have separate kitchen tools (knives, utensils, cutting boards, aprons, etc.) for the preparation of GF meals. On top of all that, my food was brought out FIRST and SEPARATELY. Our server even brought out a new bottle of ketchup with my food so that there wasn't any CC.
I felt so well taken care of by the staff, and so safe while we were there, it was a new level of Celiac-care in this dining experience. I cannot more highly recommend blackies if you're ever in RI/Providence!!!
Massimo is always amazing! The food is delicious, incredible authentic Italian, with a full gluten free menu! The staff is attentive and so friendly, especially the Manager Anna, who always greets us warmly and welcomes us back. We happily travel over an hour to come here for date night and special occasions and itās always worth it! Highly recommend!
Extremely good vegan and gluten free desserts. The Samoa oatbar is a 10/10 and if it ever disappears I'll likely not survive without it. Its so good, some weeks I get it multiples times! Very friendly customer service too.
I had an incredible lunch here yesterday! I was pretty nervous since I haven't had pizza from a restaurant since my Celiac Disease diagnosis 4.5 years ago, but our server John was fantastic. He answered all my questions, double checked things when I asked, and put me totally at ease. He reassured me they take allergens very seriously, including a separate prep area AND a separate oven for GF pizzas! I had a 1/2 pesto margherita and 1/2 chicken bacon ranch pizza, both sides were equally delicious.
The wine and dessert (cannoli) were great, but the entrees were pretty bad. We got the chicken milanese and it was some of the most overcooked chicken we have ever had. The gluten free pasta and sauce were mediocre at best. Not happy with the food, but service was nice and it was a pleasant environment. The water had a very bad after taste also, would not drink.
During my recent four-day stay at the Residence Inn while attending Flight Sim Expo 2025, I was so happy to discover that 110 Grill was conveniently attached right to the hotel. It felt like such a treat to have a quality dining spot just steps from my room, especially after long days exploring the expo.
The restaurant has a warm and modern atmosphere, with a stylish interior featuring sleek wood finishes, cozy lighting, and an inviting open kitchen concept that lets you watch the chefs in action. It is spacious yet comfortable, making it perfect for both solo dining at the bar and gathering with friends at a table.
One of the biggest highlights about 110 Grill is their dedication to accommodating dietary needs. They are known for having a completely gluten-free menu, right down to a separate fryer to avoid cross-contamination. As someone who appreciates when restaurants go the extra mile for their guests, I thought that was fantastic.
I came in around noon on Sunday, and the place was surprisingly quiet, offering a peaceful escape from the busy weekend crowds. The bartender was absolutely wonderful. Although she seemed to be the only person working the floor at the time, she managed everything with such grace and friendliness. She was attentive and so kind, and she mixed some amazing drinks.
I enjoyed a couple of their signature 110 Margaritas, and they were both fantastic, perfectly balanced with fresh citrus flavors and just the right amount of tequila kick. For my meal, I ordered the Apricot Shrimp Risotto along with a side Caesar salad, and it completely blew me away. The risotto was creamy and rich without being heavy or mushy, and I was delighted that there were no diced onions hiding in it, since I usually find they overpower the dish. The shrimp were large and tender, and the hint of sweetness from the apricot created a beautiful harmony of flavors. It was one of those meals that stays with you long after you have left town because it was genuinely that delicious.
Looking through the menu, I noticed that 110 Grill offers a great variety of dishes ranging from hearty steaks and burgers to creative seafood options and vibrant vegetarian plates. Their menu often features seasonal specials and locally inspired flavors, keeping things fresh and exciting. They also have an impressive cocktail list and a nice selection of wines and local craft beers, which makes it a great spot for both dinner and drinks.
Service, even during quiet times, felt warm and personal, and I appreciated how attentive the staff were to details, especially when it comes to food allergies or dietary preferences.
If you find yourself staying at the Residence Inn or anywhere nearby, or you simply want a delicious meal in a modern, comfortable setting, I highly recommend checking out 110 Grill. It was the perfect place to relax, indulge in a fantastic meal, and treat myself during my trip to Flight Sim Expo. I am already looking forward to coming back the next time I am in town.
So good! American vegan food blows my mind. I loved the macaroni salad, crispy tofu roll, gluten free cake cup and am excited to try the brownie tomorrow.
I wish I had known that their gluten free options were not the same as their on the menu options. I had heard the restaurant had a separate frier for gluten free orders and was so excited to try a new seafood spot, however the fried cod reuben I received was a cold batterless cod salad. The tarter sauce was more like a thin mayonnaise which soaked through the bread making it impossible to take out of the container. Beautiful establishment and friendly staff, but misleading info online led to an overall unpleasant experience.
Apponaug is a fantastic Rhode Island brewery. Typical (but beautiful) industrial/converted mill aesthetic, great food (including gluten free options for my wife), and a wide variety of beer styles. They generally have a strong German lineup (Kolsch, pils, schwartzbier, Vienna) alongside more modern styles (ipa, NEIPA, Mexican lager). Services is always friendly , and the outdoor space is amazing when it's not raining.
Nearly all items on the extensive menu can be made gluten free. I had fish and chips! Which was excellent. The fish was so fresh and tender, the chips were chip/French fries. I also got a little loaf of gluten free bread! Also amazing with the cinnamon maple butter. And if you are so fortunate enough to have the server Julianne, your whole experience will be made better. You will leave feeling happier and know she truly cared about your food and dining experience. Her knowledge about gluten free food, caring attitude and willingness to go above and beyond should well be noted. I love, love love everything about this restaurant and can't wait to go back, and hope that Julianne will be working. A++++
I love this placeā¦. they were one of the first restaurants to get on-board with having gluten-free options several years ago. Prices are a little high, but all prices are a little high. I love all the artwork they have displayed everywhere. I definitely recommend this place. ā¤ļø
Restaurant was clean and well lit. Staff was friendly and very accommodating to dietary needs. Large selection of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free items. Food was delicious with a wide flavor profile and range of heat. Prices were not prohibitive. Parking can be a little challenging if you are not from the area.
Everything was good except for the grilled octopus which I sent back because you couldn't even chew it. Second time was better but still just ok. But the standout here was the gluten-free lamb poutine, everyone loved that!
This is a favourite of mine for after kayaking. I avoid gluten and dairy, so I am quiet pleased with the selection of gluten-free vegan muffins. Great coffee too!
I have to drive 45 minutes to go to physical therapy in Wakefield but, I always look forward to getting my wrap after. I'm greeted with a smile which means a lot because most people forget to connect with others. The gluten free and vegan options are top notch and I always leave feeling full and healthy. The staff have such beautiful attitudes and I'm so happy I found this spot. Thank you!

The best food!!! Never had a bad meal here and they've been consistent quality since they first opened a long time ago. If I still lived here, I'd make it a goal to try every menu item once. I wish I knew how to make such tasty wheat gluten, they have multiple textures - all delicious. They also have the best fry tofu appetizer with that lightly fluffy crisp breading, perfect size for sharing. I always look forward to eating here again!! Thank you for a wonderful restaurant which showcases how great vegan protein can be
The food was certainly the highlight of our visit to the Boat House - my lamb was quite good but my partnerās cod with grits was phenomenal and well balanced. The seven stars focaccia (always delicious in its own right) was elevated with an array of spreads - heavenly. For me, the show stopper was our cake - limoncello mascarpone - not something Iād usually go for but truly divine. And, gluten free! Drinks were solid - Negroni was excellent - and the service and location were good. 4.5 stars.
Delectable Thai restaurant with tasty fare. Great awareness of different options for customers with allergies, including gluten, dairy, and egg allergies. The only thing I wished for was a bit more zing, acidity, spicy, and overall vivacity in the flavours to make it a tiny tad more authentic. Although the flavours incredibly refined and clean.
I was so over joyed to eat fish and chips out of a celiac safe deep fryer!! It tasted amazing and it was obvious they keep the oil very clean! I work in a kitchen and I know first hand how nasty deep fryers can get!! We went with friends that recently moved to Rhode Island and now we made a promise to go back to Celestial Cafe every time we visit! The chef even came out to check on us! We all loved our experience!
This is the only chain where my friend with a gluten allergy has never (knock on wood) had an issue with cross-contamination. No matter which location we have gone to, the food is always good and the staff is always friendly. Highly recommend.
Iāve probably been here about 5 times so far, where Iāve had food twice, and came for the bar once.
This is a vegan place, and is a must to visit for people with allergies/intolerances with a wide menu of gluten free items. I came with a person with gluten intolerance and Iām lactose intolerance and it was nice to not have to choose items super carefully.
Itās very refreshing to have a place in the neighborhood thatās got a wonderful cafe vibe and transforms into a bar at night. They have wonderful speciality cafe drinks as well as alcoholic drinks at night.
As a bonus, they support local artists in the area. They have a little section of the store with greenery items and one with candles, earrings, and other misc goods from artists.
We have been coming to Pianta since they first opened. Consistently excellent food and service. No problem getting gluten-free food at the restaurant. Service staff is efficient, pleasant and seems to enjoy what they are doing. Met the chef today - she is terrific.
Highly recommended.
RUDE & UNAWARE! *CELIACS: Please take caution at this establishment!* This place advertises as gluten free but is only partially gluten free and the staff, in our experience, does NOT understand proper allergy-safe protocol. My wife (who has Celiac) and I went in for GF pastries. We ordered the GF zeppoles and then I pointed at the āGluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookiesā right in the front of the case and ordered a chocolate chip cookie for my wife. The person serving us grabbed a chocolate chip cookie (with gluten, not gluten-free) from the back corner of the display area where there was a little sign that read āChocolate Chip Cookiesā totally obstructed from view and put it in the box with the zeppoles. My wife very politely asked if the everything was gluten free to double check and the person very coldly said āoh, uh, no just the zeppoles⦠did you want gluten free?ā. Thank god my wife asked because we were under the impression going in that everything was gluten free based on their involvement with the gluten free fest last March and this upcoming weekend, as well as their general advertising. The person then said āis it a problem that the cookie touched the zeppoles?ā My wife once again very politely said āIām sorry yes I have celiac disease so I canāt have the zeppoles if it touched.ā The other person behind the counter took the box and rudely said āwell I guess weāll save this for someone who can eat it.ā As a bakery that ācelebratesā themselves for understanding allergy protocols and offering allergen friendly options, they sure donāt seem to show it.
I love Jersey Mike's and the fact that they offer gluten free bread. I have been to several different locations . What I didn't love on my last visit to this one was , when asked if it was a preference or allergy as soon as I said allergy the girl litteraly rolled her eyes at me ! I was so taken back I was in shock .The fact I was in a hurry kept me from speaking out as to what the problem was . There was no person in front of me and one person behind me , it wasn't a busy long line waiting .I shouldn't have to feel bad about ordering gluten free bread at an establishment that offers it ! Add to the fact she didn't follow thier own protocal and use the reserved slicer and also wiped down the counter leaving crumbs behind everywhere.
Where do I begin?! The food is unbelievably delicious. Whether you have never tried Indian food before, or if itās your favorite cuisine, either way, this place is a GEM! Many dishes Iāve never had at any other Indian restaurant. The place is very clean, and you can watch the chef prepare your food so you know itās all made fresh! Quality ingredients and very clean establishment. The ambience is cozy and good vibes. Great vegan and gluten free options as well! The manager who greets you at the front door is the kindest person and will truly make you feel like a friend! 10/10! You must try this place, youāll go again and again!
The Indian receptionist at our hotel recommended this restaurant and with good reason. Plenty of gluten-free options like Potato Dosa appetiser and lots of vegetarian curries, like the aubergine one I ordered. Brown and pillau rice, and an interesting chickpea bread. Large portions of delicious, slightly spicy food. Very nice Lime Shrimp.
They were so accommodating and safe. They even got me a gluten free cheese empanada so I could have something while the rest of the table had the bread basket! They assured me of safe cooking in the kitchen to avoid any Cross contamination!
Folks who deliver through a service need to stop blaming Francescoās for the temperature of the pizza. They are not responsible for the timing of deliveriesāthe app you choose makes that determination. Now, that being said, this is a real family owned Italian American corner pizza place just like youād find in NYC or Brooklyn. Mom, son, wife, they all take part. The pizza sauce is homemade, tangy and bright like a New York slice with a thin crisp crust that has a nice crusty bread taste. YESāthey have vegan cheese! YESāthey have gluten free pizza. I suggest stopping in for a sliceāno tables inside but there are benches on the sidewalk. Otherwise order a pizza to go and pick it up yourself, and say hi to the folks who work there. Small businesses like this are one of the last places we can really build a sense of community and supportāa place like this has honest prices and good food (I have to try the homemade meatballs!) and is worthy of the community gathering around to support them! Highly recommend. Personally, I love the rice and beans, plantains, gluten free cheese bread, salad and coleslaw, potatoes and chicken and beef. Try the green lasagna too, itās amazing! THE place to go in Coventry!!
We had a delicious dinner at Leoās this evening. The veal parm was off the charts, and the gluten free pizza was the best Iāve ever had. Wine, service, quality of food and ambiance will have us coming back soon.
Our family has numerous food allergies, including peanuts, gluten, and egg. We also have several members with corn allergies. Corn is in nearly everything. For years, we couldnāt get many grains because they were processed on the same equipment as corn, even if they didnāt contain it. When I discovered Gerbs, I was not expecting to love their products as much as I do. Now, we order from them 2ā3 times a month. I am able to make bread, muffins, and pancakes with ingredients we get from them. Many take these foods for granted, but in a home with numerous food allergies, these werenāt normal foods for us. Now, we enjoy pancakes on the weekends and homemade bread regularly. Not only has it added a comforting element to our meals, but itās become a fun family tradition to bake bread together. I tell every food allergy person I know to purchase from Gerbs.
Great pizzeria that's open late! Nice atmosphere, everyone was friendly, and pizza was delicious š. Gluten free options, by the slice, and whole pizzas available.
Our waiter Connor was excellent!! My friend has allergies to gluten, he answered her questions on some of the entrees& was very accommodating to her needs! Our food was delicious. We will be back!!
Worst restaurant experience ever! Do not go here! I have celiac and I ordered a meal off the item that was shown as gluten free on the menu after I told the waitress that I was gluten free, and it turns out that it wasnāt! I ate some of the meal, and something didnāt seem right to me. I asked the waitress (who finally came back after at least 20 mins, and there was only one other table seated in the entire restaurant) to verify if it was indeed gluten free, she said that she āthinksā it is. She went back to the kitchen to check and then a gentleman came out (assuming the manager?) and informed me that it was not made as gluten free. He said the menu has it listed that way because it can be made gluten free upon request. That is NOT how it is written on the menu, PLUS I did inform her when ordering the food that I cannot have anything with gluten. I was beyond livid. They did not even offer to comp my meal and I was sick to my stomach after eating the small portion of my meal. Fix your menu!!!!!
