Carvers Steak & Seafood

Super Disappointing. SOL if you have any dietary restrictions such as gluten or lactose. Prime Rib had no flavor and was room temperature. My department held our Christmas dinner here. The menu was reduced to cater to a large group. There was not a single appetizer I could eat. apparently they don’t know how to make an appetizer unless flour is the chief ingredient. My salad was just lettuce. At least at Texas Roadhouse there’s egg in the salad if you don’t get the croutons. I miss classy restaurants of Newport such as Seasons 52 that had gluten free options. At Seasons they even had gluten free breadsticks to dip in the artichoke dip. I can almost imagine a conversation between the owner and chef of Carvers. One asks, “but what if someone has dietary restrictions? What alternatives will we offer?” And the response is “screw those people. They can eat plain lettuce.”

The food is delicious. They are very knowledgeable with food allergies. I easily ordered something gluten free and dairy free. The seared tuna or filet mignon are my favorites! My only complaint is this restaurant is FREEZING! The air is always blowing and it's always cold. Take a warm sweater. Even during the middle of summer, take the sweater. I'm normally a hot person but I have worn my coat inside sometimes.
