I wish I got our server’s name because she was just so lovely. Very friendly people, amazing food, and even gluten free options!

i was super excited when i heard that Geddy’s was the most “allergy-friendly restaurant in bar harbor” and that they made a gluten free version of the lobster roll. they had a 5 star rating on findmeglutenfree so i was very confident in ordering and just made sure to tell the person who took my order it was an allergy. there was no commentary on shared fryers or anything so i assumed it was safe. i got my food and it was alright, though i dont know that that was the restaurants fault. i’d never had a lobster roll before so they just might not be for me. i left and soon after felt nauseous and bloated and ended up having to throw up at a near by grocery store. i would NOT say this restaurant is celiac friendly at all, contrary to reviews. i’m not even insanely sensitive to it (like i wont react to corn and can generally trust drinking after someone after about 20 minutes of them having had gluten and then water). it was so unfortunate and felt like a complete waste of money as i didn’t keep anything down :( Updating after their response to clear up a few things. i have had lobster. just not lobster rolls and they use the same buns as a lot of restaurants in new york i frequent regularly. i did have a reaction to gluten somewhere in my meal. very unfortunate to see that they are incapable of taking criticism. i’ve had celiac for years and know how my body reacts to ingredients such as xantham gum that frequently are added to gluten free food. this restaurant is just not above making a mistake, no matter how they try and this has further emphasized to me that this restaurant does not care for the celiac community. admit your mistakes and move on. :(

Great environment, attentive service and delicious food! Almost everything can be made gluten free - they have a dedicated fryer and are attentive to allergies. I decided on the fish and chips and WOW, they were perfectly crispy and delicious. My husband got the shrimp pasta and said it was excellent. The manager was very friendly and introduced himself to us and checked on us several times throughout the evening. It was wonderful to hear part of his story. Highly recommend this place, and make sure you get reservations, as it is popular for good reason!
