Hy-Vee Grocery Store

So nice to shop in a hyvee that has so many Gluten free options.out hyvee has some but not near as many as the waterloo Hyvee.

(Old Star Review): Dropped my score for this Hy-Vee locale (and all others in the Waterloo, Iowa area) to 3 stars due to the stores' removal from being included in the UHC (United Healthcare) Dual Complete Healthy Benefits UCard program to purchase healthy food and OTC (over the counter) medical products w/UCard credits. This is a problem for many people able to take part in the UHC program. UPDATE!!! Hy-Vee once again is included in the store list of stores participating in the "Solutran" (UHC - UCard) OTC/Healthy Food benefit program as of Feb., 2023. Disregard cut-off date of Feb. 28, 2023! Stars I have given reflect this change of policy. Store Products Review: This is one of two (2) larger Hy-Vees in the Cedar Valley of Iowa (Black Hawk County). Each Hy-Vee sells products tailored to the customer demographic around its surrounding area. This one is pretty much generally across-the-board. This Hy-Vee has a very diverse type of products offered. Hot/Cold ready-made foods/beverages including Chinese, Italian, sushi, deli, bakery, coffees (Starbucks), and party platters including fruit, vegi, meat/cheese/cracker trays. Grocery products include a wide spectrum including a nice variety of Mexican, Chinese, Vegan, and standard American fare. They have a nice healthfood/organic section (including gluten-free and lactose-free) dry goods, dairy, and frozen. Sometimes this Hy-Vee is also used as a test market for new products from well-known food product companies. This Hy-Vee also features an in-store, separated dining area (family-friendly) that can be closed off via a door where folks can eat ready-made food by the store. If the ready-made food wants to be purchased for take-out, customers can by it at either the ready-made deli or the Chinese take-out registers. Toward the rear of the store, a specialty deli sells higher-end specialty cheese and deli meats. Beside it is a bakery with a nice assortment of baked goods, including cakes that can also be made to order for any occasion. The healthfood section features products made by Mark Wahlberg, amongst all the others. There is a small, but very nice florist available. There is a pharmacy that also features immunizations service, and a licensed dietitian. Customer Service is also a Post Office branch and money transfer. Veridian Credit Union also has a branch there.
