Every single thing about my special birthday dinner at Mitch's on El Paseo was top-notch! My parents out of state sent flowers for the table and their experience in working with the folks at Mitch's was as enjoyable and smooth as our dinner was! Emily was our server and there simply are not enough words to describe how her fantastic attention to detail made our dining experience the best we've had in years! She was attentive but not hovering, she knew the menu and wines well and was very helpful and knowledgeable about the gluten free options I needed for my food allergy. Her help in choosing a wine was so fun and easygoing while being very informed. The food was amazing! Every one of us loved our meals. We came early and lingered and were never pressured to leave to turn over the table. I had read so many reviews at different restaurants and there seemed to be so much inconsistency. It is very apparent that the leadership at Mitch's takes the time to not only train staff well but to treat them well. We'll be back and definitely telling friends in the Valley (and visitors from other states) about this gem! Thanks Mitch's for a fabulous birthday dinner experience on your gorgeous patio! :)

Meh at best! We decided to go because we had read rave reviews. We went at happy hour and there were many tables available , that should have been a clue! My husband is a celiac and we had read they are great for gluten free meals. We asked for a gluten free menu or gluten free options, but the waiter said “no we don’t have one”. But he did not offer any suggestions of what to order, and we were not “allowed” to order from any menu except the happy hour menu. Our waiter seemed to not really care. We got drink refills because luckily another waitress saw us with empty glasses. My husband ordered sashimi which was dry and paper thin. He also ordered the mussels which he said were ok. My Mum and I ordered the Chinese Chicken salad which tasted like they opened an old bag of salad and threw on some processed chicken with a few slices of mandarin oranges from a can. My son had the Caesar salad which also tasted like bagged salad with watered down thousand island dressing and a slimy anchovy on top. My dad said he meal was fine. So that is why we gave the one star.
