Saturday night , peak hour .
Was seated at the bar , at the far end.
Decided on the set menu for $110 per person .
First conversation with our waitress was 6 mins after we sat down . I informed her I was gluten free and if they could acccomodate this with the set menu . Explanation was thorough enough .
Waited another 25 mins for our drinks .
One of them non alcoholic, the other a wine.
Dishes were flavourful and delicate, and portions tiny .
However to substitute the bread I was served potato chips , they skipped the real potatoes . 🥔. I wasn’t told about this .
Service was very slow , plates weren’t cleared in between courses , and there were lengthy gaps between each course. Service was almost non existent.
This was not a degustation, the serving plates were extremely small portions . The option for the gluten free dessert was a scoop of coconut 🥥 sorbet in a half a passion fruit shell , on a bowl of ice - for 2 adults!
For the price we paid for food, that is a total is $220, this felt like a major rip off .
Coming from Melbourne , and having been to the Nomad there 3 yrs ago when it first opened , this experience was just not even comparable to the one we had the Adelphi Hotel - from the vibe to the service , to the atmosphere .
Even the chef even came out and explained the dishes personally back then in Melbourne
In this case in Sydney you pay exorbitant prices , for what you don’t get .
Extremely disappointing.
