I love Oyamel one of my favorites in the city. When I told our bartender I had celiac he checked and they were able to make celiac safe tortilla chips so I could enjoy the guac. I was so excited. It seemed like if you have celiac and a real allergy they fry some ahead of time so the oil is safe or they can easily fry them a different way either way I was pumped. Aside from that their tacos and everything are amazing!

We are local residents and finally made it to this restaurant after wanting to try it for years—(especially knowing it was a favorite of the Obamas during their White House days) and is owned by the incredible José Andrés. The food did not disappoint! As someone who is gluten-free, I really appreciated that our server asked about any allergies right when we sat down. There were plenty of gluten-free options to choose from (a whole menu), which made the experience even more enjoyable. The enchiladas, fresh guacamole, and tacos were all delicious. My only small complaint is that the tacos fell apart quickly, so I ended up using a fork and knife—something other reviewers mentioned as well. We stopped in after visiting a museum, and the restaurant was lively with guests celebrating World Pride which was lovely. While the bathrooms could have used a more thorough cleaning—likely due to the higher-than-usual foot traffic from the festivities—it didn’t take away from the overall experience. Everything else was lovely, and we’d be happy to return.

The food is great. I live in Arizona and eat a lot of Mexican food. It's usually hard for me to find really good Mexican food that compares to what I'm used to, but this was good. We had two in our party with celiac, and they both ordered gluten-free and enjoyed it. I will say, though, the salsa was not the best. But I set the bar high
