This place was cute. Pretty good food, not as amazing as I was hoping, but good. 3.5 stars but I'll round to 4, especially in COVID times.
They're a sister restaurant to La Quinta Cliffhouse and the two menus are similar, though there's more of a fish / seafood focus here vs. a meat focus there.
We had the bacon wrapped dates at LQC so I can attest to their excellence, though we didn't order them here. At Pacifica we started with the baked scallops and the shrimp cocktail. The baked scallops were fantastic. Super rich, obviously, but salty and creamy and crunchy and a really great app to split with a friend or two. The shrimp cocktail was fine, nothing special. I liked the wasabi in the cocktail sauce, though I wouldn't have been upset with more.
For an entree we shared the mustard catfish and it wasn't very good. It just lacked flavor. The fish lacked flavor, the succotash had good texture but really needed seasoning. Kind of a bummer way to end the meal after a good start.
The fresh bread was served warm and had that great gluteny pull-apart texture. All the yums.
Overall, I'd come back, but I'd definitely go for a different entree.
