Celiacs not welcome here!!!
During two recent visits to this establishment, I had the opportunity to dine for dinner on one occasion and brunch on the weekend. On both occasions, I made it known that I have a gluten allergy.
For dinner, I ordered a steak, which was supposed to be accompanied by fries. However, the kitchen informed me that the fries might contain gluten, resulting in the exclusion of potatoes all together from my meal.
During brunch, I opted for a chorizo scramble and enquired on the brand of their gluten-free bun, as they were charging an additional $4. Disappointingly, the chef reported that the bun was a Sysco bun, however Sysco is a food delivery supplier, not a bakery. This analogy is comparable to asking about the origin of their salmon and receiving the response, "it's from the water."
Evidently, the individual overseeing the kitchen operations appears to lack experience, displays arrogance, or exhibits a lack of attention to detail. Consequently, it is safe to say that in the future, I will bypass Provence and explore the numerous alternative dining choices available in Yaletown."
