I’m gluten free so it’s always nice to see a pizza place that can accommodate. And it’s pretty dang good!

Before I go into the food, let me say I am a big one for atmosphere and vibe. This restaurant has an upbeat, energetic, joyful vibe. You can sit inside or out this time of year, and we chose to sit inside. The staff seems to take pride in their work – very attentive and eager to please. They checked back with us often to see if we needed anything. The patrons seemed happy to be there and fully enjoying their meal. The lighting and music were not overwhelming. Great casual date or family experience. Now onto the food - first of all, I am a pizza snob so it takes a lot for me to be impressed. Surprising to me, every pizza I tried was Fantastic. Especially surprised with the fact that the gluten-free crust on one of them had no hint of the flat, paper dry, typical gluten-free flavor. I do not require gluten-free, but I would have totally eaten it anyway. The regular crust was thin and perfectly browned due to the brick oven in the corner of the kitchen area. First off, we had number six, the FRANCESE – that when we did gluten-free. Next, we had number seven – POMODORO. Then we ate number four – the New York Pepperoni. Lastly, number 5, Summer squash. I would highly recommend all of these as each one was unique and stood out and its own way. Beautifully presented, lots of color and each distinctly favorable. We also had a salad called the Arthur Avenue. It tasted like an antipasto all in one. Very fresh and crispy. The herbs were perfectly mixed. Most surprising and unusual was the tomato and watermelon salad with ricotta cheese and fresh basil. Light and pallet clearing. The mixture of watermelon and tomatoes was delicious. And also very pleasing to the eye. We took a break and had more wine – I recommend the Fido de Mezzo 2018. It went well with everything we ate. Time for dessert - we chose vanilla ice cream with pistachio and candied oranges and the tiramisu. Personally, I am an ice cream girl so I loved that dessert but my friends that are into tiramisu said that it was amazingly good. One said “to die for,” lol. We left with full tummies and happy feelings and definitely we will be back again. You definitely should go here. Five stars or two thumbs up!. :-D

What a fantastic experience we had in this restaurant/pizzeria. Five hungry people at our table and we ordered a bunch of selections to share. We started with some fried calamari which was so light and crunchy crispy yet wonderfully tender and tasty. Their “Tuna Crudo” with green olives was terrific. We also shared some great salads.. the chopped “Arthur Ave” was as great as anything from the famous Bronx street! It was like a mini chopped antipasto with olives, salami and provolone. But the real surprise was this incredible Tomato/ Watermelon Salad…. Ripened heirloom tomatoes paired with sweet watermelon and ricotta salata and fresh basil. The saltiness of the cheese with the sweetness of the watermelon was such a unique and tantalizing treat. We also shared a few 12” pies which were equally superb. A “NYC Pepperoni”, while sounding mundane was recommended to be paired with a drizzle of this hot honey which made it a real treat! We also shared a “Vongole”.. thin crust pie with tender clams, garlicky scallion butter, onions and fresh squeezed lemon… delicioso! Along with that hot honey we drizzled on the pepperoni pie they had a selection of other “crust dippers” which included a traditional pesto, ranch and a wonderful truffle aioli. Really makes the complete pie extra special down to the very last bite of crispy crust. Ohh and I almost forgot we ordered a gluten free crust “San Marzano” for one of us who has celiac and she said it was the absolute best she had ever had. I tried a slice and I couldn’t tell the difference. Light, thin crust, delicious. They also serve pasta dishes, spritzes, wine, beer, soft serve and even a kids menu. Highly recommended this gem of an eatery for lunch or dinner! Next time we visit the area we will definitely stop by again!
