CELIAC/GLUTEN SENSITIVITY BEWARE!
When I first came to Tasu I was pleased to see meals clearly marked gluten friendly with little GF symbols next to them. The waiter, however, told me that some of the meals marked GF were not actually gluten friendly and the menu is incorrect, which is dangerous for gluten free folks. He said they could modify it to make it gluten friendly, but that apparently meant full price pad thai turned into rice noodles with GF soy sauce only, no other sauce, which was...not tasty. That might have been partially my own fault from miscommunication, but still.
Then my husband ordered a hibachi dish and was told it could be made gluten friendly with tamari/GF soy sauce. He was halfway through the dish before I realized his dish was served with wheat noodles and all of his meat/vegetables were contaminated. He (bless him) thought they must be rice noodles since he'd ordered GF, but they were absolutely wheat and he was sick in the bathroom all night. The waiter was far from apologetic when this was pointed out, but he did bring us a to-go replacement dish at the end of the meal, though we didn't get an apology or anything.
Now I've worked at restaurants and I know food allergies are annoying and it can be frustrating to have to deal with them, but it is still important. At the very least the menu labeling should be accurate.
If you are at all gluten sensitive, I would avoid this place.
