The Cheesecake Factory

We visited D.C. for 4 nights on a historical based family vacation. We are from Maine and were excited to see there was a Cheesecake Factory within walking distance of hotel as we dont have them in Maine. (YET 😉) Restaurant was clean and beautiful. I eat gluten free and was happy to see some GF options on the menu. We ate at roughly 8pm each night, restaurant was busy but we were sat quickly and service was smooth and timely. Everything we ordered, all 3 nights was delicious. Hubby still raves about the Chicken parmesean, so loved the orange chicken and double smash burger, the corn flour chicken taquitos were amazing, as well as the corn tortilla fish tacos :) Hence why we ate here 3 or 4 nights Our server on the 1st and second night 9.20.25 and 9.21.25 was NELSON. He was so awesome the 1st night that we just had to request his section on nights 2 and 3. (Sadly he wasn't working the 3rd night.) He was upbeat, knowledgeable, attentive and just the sweetest. Nelson is a huge asset to the team and anyone who ends up in his section is in for a treat. He makes you forget your feet are killing u after a full day of walking :) Everything about our experience was wonderful except maybe how dark it was. Being as myself and my husband are 50 reading a menu in the dark is really difficult- (we had to resort to the cel phone flashlight method) dead giveaway to our age. If we make it to D.C. we will be back and we are very hopefully for a location in Maine.

There are many gluten free options

I want to start by thanking the staff at The Cheesecake Factory on H Street for doing their best to accommodate my son’s food allergies during our recent visit. Our server was absolutely wonderful—friendly, attentive, and made a clear effort to ensure my son’s meal was safe. His cheeseburger sliders (served without the bun) were a hit, and we truly appreciated the care taken there. However, I do have to share a serious concern. When asking about the gluten-free French fries, I was told by the manager on duty that they “can’t guarantee a piece of chicken or seafood hasn’t fallen into the gluten-free fryer.” Excuse me—what? If the fryer is designated for gluten-free items, why would anything containing gluten be anywhere near it? That completely defeats the purpose and is a major cross-contamination risk, especially for those with celiac disease or serious gluten allergies. We’ve visited other Cheesecake Factory locations in the area where staff have taken food allergies very seriously, with clear communication and proper precautions. This experience left me uneasy and disappointed. And yes, I’m focusing on the gluten free French fries which I have/was told that the fryer is just for French fries. I hope this feedback is taken seriously—food allergies are not a preference, they are a health risk. Please review your kitchen practices so that families like mine can continue to enjoy meals at your restaurant with confidence.
