As a long time customer of True Food Kitchen - for more than 4 years - what initially interested us was the healthy non GMO, Gluten Free menu that does not use unhealthy seed oils (like Canola/Rapeseed Oil) in its food preparation. Since then, True Food has made some slight changes to its menus, including the use of controversial Vital Farms products as well as changes to its gluten friendly pizza dough and hamburger buns, however the one thing that has NOT changed - and is the best part of the restaurant: its employees. Ask for Chantal, Yuyu or Aaron - those are three of the best restaurant professionals you will ever meet! Their can do attitude, combined with their amazing ability to connect with customers is the REAL secret weapon at True Food Kitchen on PostOak. My family can eat at any restaurant in Houston, but we choose to eat at True Food Kitchen on Post Oak because we are always given excellent service and shown kindness when we eat there. Every restaurant should figure out how those three team members work, and copy it exactly - as a customer you leave having had a good meal, and GREAT service. Kindness, always served with a smile - and if there is any problem at all with your order, they are always quick to rectify the situation. You will never sit around with an empty glass of tea if you are being served by Aaron, Chantal or Yuyu. They always put the customer first - which is why, as long as they are working at TrueFood, we will always eat there! Give it a try - and ask to sit in their sections - you will have the best dining experience ever! Thank you Chantal, Yuyu and Aaron!!

This used to be one of our favorite restaurants. However, they stop serving gluten-free pita, which has been so disappointing to us. They don’t have gluten free corn chips either. They seem to have no understanding of why people eat gluten-free. A food allergy is not a seasonal menu issue. That said we were at the True food kitchen in Los Angeles and they did offer gluten-free pita, so we believe this is a poor decision by the local management team. We are very disappointed.

I love True food kitchen and the fact that they are able to accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions! They are also now 100% seed oil free! I am, however, very disappointed that there is not longer a vegan and gluten free pizza crust. The menu used to be way more plant forward and allergen friendly, but I do love the dishes that are still available (even if I miss the mushroom pizza since the crust can no longer be dairy and gluten free). I also feel more dishes could be soy free with the use of coconut aminos and chickpea miso, since soy is a top allergen. Our service was amazing though!! Kia went above and beyond and anticipated our needs! She was very hospitable, kind, accommodating, and attentive. 6 stars for her service!
