Located in a quiet residential area near Daikanyama, "Yama no Hitsuji" is a gluten-free & medicinal food cafe run by a medicinal food chef. It's a short walk from both Daikanyama and Ebisu stations, and is a hidden gem that suddenly appears in a residential area. There's a sign outside, so don't miss it; just walk in and you'll find the shop in a house one block away. The side dish plate (1,500 yen including tax, changes weekly) uses plenty of seasonal vegetables, and all of them are healthy and delicious. The attention to detail, such as black rice and gluten-free soy sauce, is outstanding. The food is served a little slowly, so it's best to go with plenty of time. The portions of the main meat dish are large, and even men will be full. The interior of the store is dotted with sheep motifs, and the mascot dog "Komugi" will greet you. He barks a lot (lol). You can also bring your pet. There are counter seats equipped with power outlets, and it is a relaxing space where time flows at a leisurely pace. This is a place that is recommended not only for health-conscious people, but also for those who want to restore their mind and body. Only cash is accepted, and electronic payments and cards are not accepted.

I went to my favorite gluten-free cafe, Yama no Hitsuji. I ordered the deli plate. It's Japanese food with a mini dessert. You can choose between plain chiffon cake and cocoa chiffon cake. All menu items are flour-free. The deli plate is 1,500 yen. Payment is by cash only. The cute mascot dog Komugi is also there, which makes it very relaxing.

We went for lunch. It's in a secluded spot, and there is no entrance according to Google Maps, so it's best to go from the main street. All the customers are women. I thought the mascot dog would bark at men, but it seems to bark quite a bit at new customers. I still remember being barked at by a dog. It seems to be quite popular with regular customers. Gluten-free side dish lunch for 1500 yen. A satisfying set that comes with meatballs, deep-fried tofu and burdock root in sweet and spicy sauce, tamagoyaki (rolled egg), salad, black rice, pickles, miso soup, and even dessert. Payment is cash only.
