I went in with a friend for a quick bite to eat. There are a lot of pizza places in the neighborhood, so it was easy to get lost in the mix. Being an area in between two colleges, you have to stand out somehow. Zesty Bites does it by providing some solid Americana cuisine, and some good Lebanese food, as well.
I got the Chicken Kabob (Tawook) platter, It includes coleslaw, fries, some pickles, and a garlic spread. All of it was good! Beware the garlic spread, though. If you are going to a party and want to be alone, eat all of the spread. But, to be honest, the garlic spread is worth the purposeful introversion, and it worked really well with the rest of the platter.
I appreciate the paper based packaging and give them a thumbs up for the sustainable business practices. It was nice to be able to speak to the owner who was behind the counter.
Gluten-free options are available. While their menu does not specifically say gluten-free pizzas, the owner did say that they have cauliflower based pizza crusts. I am not confident that there are no cross-contamination issues, but for those who do not have a serious gluten allergy, it should be okay.
