I’m gluten free and my boyfriend is plant based, so this stop was exactly what we were seeking having come down from NYC to visit my parents. The options and the quality of the food were remarkable. It doesn’t taste like a chain, it tastes like someone cares and is on a mission for the greater good of seeing our relationship with food differently. I was surprised to see the 5 star reviews, but the hype is something you feel and experience. I wish this owner the best of success as they deserve it. Also the protein options wonderful! The gluten free (celiac) noodle options fantastic, and the chocolate vegan cheesecake bowl 🥣- yummmmyyyy
Known for its lively atmosphere and extensive beer selection, this spot impresses with exceptional service and generous portions that'll keep you coming back.

We've been going to the Bethany Blues on Route 1 near Lewes for several years while on our annual Rehoboth Beach trip. The food and service is always excellent, but I'm writing this review to give them the credit they deserve for being amazing with gluten restrictions/celiac. Every single time, when I mention my gluten free diet, a manager is sent to our table and is very knowledgeable about their gluten free options.
I have been gluten free since 2008 and eat out multiple times a week so I can attest that this place is definitely one of the best in handling this restriction. While most restaurants are familiar with GF diets these days, not many make a point to train their management on it and have such a consistent plan in place (they also said they now offer a gluten free bun which is great). I had the pulled pork with cheesy creamed corn and a chopped salad and it was delicious and a generous portion.
Thanks, Bethany Blues, for being so accommodating!
A hidden gem with cozy vibes, this spot impresses with perfectly cooked sliders and mouthwatering fries that keep bringing people back for more.

Anyone who knows me knows how much I love Ted’s. From the warm, welcoming service—especially from our favorite bartender—to the incredible food, every visit is a treat. The bison burger (Canyon Creek, whoop whoop!) is always a standout, and the Gluten-Free buns? Absolutely drool-worthy! But let’s talk about the fries… oh my goodness, the fries. Hands down the best I’ve ever had. Made fresh on-site, they’re crispy, golden perfection, and my son loves watching the potatoes transform into something so delicious. Ted’s is more than just a restaurant for us—it’s a place we’ll keep coming back to, time and time again.

10/10! We went there for my son’s birthday and Chloe & Joan couldn’t have been any kinder or attentive. The food was delicious and fresh, the coffee hit the spot, too! I appreciated the gluten free options as well. Thanks for making his birthday breakfast so special. 🩷

We've been here several times over the years. It's got a great vibe, really energetic staff, and several solid plant based options. But when we went for dinner this past weekend I was surprised. I didn't remember it being so nickel and dimey. Lots of upcharges (including .50 for a tiny plastic cup of vegan salad dressing that my son wanted for his already overpriced veggie burger... To be fair, he said the burger was really good). And lots of just overpriced menu options in general. For example, my wife's chicken sandwich was somehow like 28 bucks (maybe because she asked for a gluten free bun?). And we had pickled appetizer thing which would have been embarrassingly underwhelming even if it cost half of what they charged for it. All in for the 3 of us it was about $140 or so with tip...and I didn't even get a cocktail (my wife had 1 and my son had a mocktail), and none of us even got a pricey entree...just sandwiches.
I understand that everything is more expensive these days, but I don't typically feel screwed or "price gouged" when the bill comes (unless I'm at the airport or the ballpark or something). I did this weekend at Home Grown unfortunately.

Great restaurant, great food, great servers. Also our server Mike was super kind and good at his job (and handsome). When I said I wanted gluten free bun and I said it was an allergy he immedietly started recommending gluten free sides. Very sweet and professional. Overall 5 star experience!

I dine in and get take out also delivery. I’m addicted to the chicken and waffles. My family comes to visit and it’s the top choice. My nieces and nephews love their breakfast croissant sandwich too. Pancakes are a hit. Thank you for offering gluten free so my family member with allergies can dine with us. Such a wonderful experience.

I wanted to write a compliment for our server and manager. I had ordered a gluten free bun and there was a mixup in the kitchen where I get a regular bun. This happens a lot but this was the first time the manager had come out to me to let me know that they were remaking the burger and making sure my food was safe. Our server was excellent and double checked on the allergens on my food and alerted me to changes. I felt very taken care of and appreciated the effort. Thank you very much!

The only thing I would change about this place are the hours. It would be amazing if their lunch menu was a dinner option in milton and I know they would bring in loads of business. For some reason it’s always Sunday when I get the urge to go here for breakfast. That said - the food is fantastic and the price is even better. They have done such a great job with the interior. It’s a place I have gone to sit and work and have coffee, but also a place my family loves to go to. It has a cozy feel. The people there are always wonderful. They have just enough gluten free choices that my diet doesn’t create an issue going here. I hope this place is around forever.
A little concerned about the cleanliness. 1st red flag was when I went to the rest room, I watched a server put her tab book on the floor while she used the toilet, then picked it up and laid it in the counter and to wash her hands and return to work with the same book. I watched her the entire time to make sure that book didn't come anywhere near our table. I considered speaking to a manager, but didn't want to make a scene, that book touched several other surfaces. It was disgusting. Second red flag was the toothpick that was in my sandwich was used before, it had dried sauce on the flag part that my sandwich did not have on it. Immediate turn off. My son also warned me not to drink from the cups there dried was food and smudges on inside of the clean cups. I was quite grossed out and kinda bummed I spent about $80 total (between 3 of us + $10 tip - the serve me was a sweetheart) just to bring home my sandwich and throw it in the trash.I don't think we will go back, which is sad because they have gluten free and plant based options.

We had dinner last night and were so happy with our experience. Amazing views of the bay where we were sitting on the back deck. Our waitress was incredible! They have several gluten free options on their menu which was an added bonus for myself. Highly recommend the nachos as an appetizer. The ingredients were so fresh. Two of us finished them and then could barely eat our dinner. We will definitely be back next year!

Came for an early dinner for my first time ever at this sodel concepts. Location the Wednesday before Labor Day weekend 2024.
A friend who drove down from his place in downtown Rehoboth, picked me up & drove to cottage Cafe. We did not have to wait more than a minute to be seated. With a degree in hotel, restaurant MGMT myself, & over 30 yrs in the business, I'm always aware of how important it is, whether front of the house or back of the house, when it comes to the importance of first & last impressions. My normal very calm friend concerned me when after 10 minutes of us seated, me w/ my gluten-free menu, him w/ his regular menu, began to show a little bit of impatience on his face. An urgent look that I knew I needed to take action upon. B/c after more than 10 mins, we had yet to even be greeted by a single server or employee saying or acknowledging our presence, or anything like "we'll be with you shortly." Worse, 2 other tables in that far back room each were attended to w/ servers, 1 in what appeared to have a sort of server in training scenario. (In this time, they had not only given their drink orders but received their drinks & were now giving the servers their food orders.)
I got up, rushed as quickly as I could to the front door where I found 3 employees, 2 young girls and one older, possibly sat us originally - not sure- but who immediately after listening to me, asked me to take her to our table, where she immediately did everything correctly to diffuse the situation & made everything worthwhile for the rest of our stay at that establishment. It's my thought that this woman more likely than not was the mgr on duty that night. I could be incorrect but I believe her to have either a reddish or Auburn style color hair.(Not blonde, not dark). Very excellent demeanor. Not defensive whatsoever. Completely wonderfully attentive & apologetic. Was able to take our drink orders and our somewhat complex food order with no issues whatsoever of forgetting a thing .
When our server who was assigned to us did come to greet us: she did apologize very genuinely. And to let me know the french fries, although listed on my Gluten-Free menu, that it's in fact a menu error/ cross-contamination issue. Was very happy with the side choice that I went with- Your coleslaw. Which was/is just slightly better than the batch I tried when I had food delivered the night before from Northeast seafood and kitchen.
I was really wanting to have salmon. But unfortunately that was not on the gluten-free menu. Your kitchen went above & beyond, Pan searing the jerk salmon entree to perfection except without the jerk seasoning per my request. My friend absolutely raved about his scallops entree- also raving about the seasonal vegetables, & happy that he could take home a little bit of each as he was unable to finish his entire entree!
Always enjoy your homemade sodas- root beer is excellent! Wished that they were still available by the bottle but that's being nitpicky. It was a little disappointing, however that both at Blue Coast and at cottage Cafe stock was down significantly on the four options that were normally available. You were completely out of at least two of the options at both places. I guess I would have thought that the Wednesday leading up to a Labor Day weekend you would have had a full stock of all of the sodas. Looking forward to a time when I can try the...it was either black cherry vanilla or cherry vanilla soda.
A vibrant spot with a great atmosphere and a manager who jumps in to help during busy times, making for an enjoyable dining experience.

fantastic options for building bowls like chipotle but with more interesting options- mushrooms, pepperjack cheese, pineapple salsa, and lots of sauces to choose from. very knowledgeable and careful with gluten free accommodations, not just changing gloves but pulling out a new bin of cheese to make sure my cheese wasn't contaminated!
Superb experience! We visited Cafe on 26th on Valentine’s Day. I suffer from Celiac Disease and can not eat at many nice restaurants at the Delaware beaches. Without hesitation, we will return to Cafe on 26th. The food was delicious, with many fine choices. Almost every item on their menu is gluten free, including 4 of their 5 desserts. The staff at Cafe on 26th are professional, knowledgeable, and caring. They explain menu items in detail and, even on a very busy evening, take time to alert the kitchen and management of dietary needs to ensure the safety of their customers. Cafe on 26th understands that a gluten free dining experience doesn’t take away from quality or taste. They have set a high bar for restaurants in the area! From the moment we walked into Cafe on 26th, we loved it! This restaurant is a standout. We were a group of 5 adults who look forward to our next visit to Bethany Beach and Cafe on 26th.

Friendly Applebees staff. Convenient if you're passing through the Dover area. Food was as expected and tasty. Waitress was sweet and helped us out with deciding on gluten free app options for my husband.
We had a Gift card from a few years ago and they honored it. Chef Mario loved the water bottle at the table and we will be doing that in our third restaurant soon to be opening. I had the trout special and he had the crispy chicken,to our delight hot out of the kitchen. This is the first time I ever ate a meal without needing to add salt or pepper. Our soups were delicious ,the black bean and the sweet potato . The broccoli robe with the sausage and cheese excellent. The gluten free chocolate lava cake was perfect for my diet. This was the best dining experience we have had in a long time with no feel of being rushed .Thanks for having us and hope you come to our new place to admire the water bottle on the table .

Wonderful food, great staff and delightful decor. Our future granddaughter-in-law requires GF and, although the menu does no have specific gluten-free items, our server Sarah was very knowledgeable in this regard and knew which specific items could be served as GF ('without gravy', etc.).

We checked into The Avenue Hotel & Spa on Friday evening and slipped right into The Blue Hen for a late dinner. The atmosphere is always really nice there and so is the staff. We sat at a hightop in the bar area. Lighting was just right, gas fires were running outside but it was drizzling, so we stayed in. Dining room was busy. The crowd is always a mix of visitors and locals with a happy, festive feel. We had hoped to watch the Women's Final Four but the bar crowd was already engaged in soccer and a dog show on the monitors. (note that this is probably not the ideal place to watch a game and the bar team isn't in tune with the current interests in sports).
The food was excellent - really fresh! I had the beet salad minus the cheese and a shrimp cocktail that was accompanied by house made cocktail sauce. This made for the perfect gluten free-dairy free meal. My husband enjoyed his generously sized and yummy burger.
As a Blue Hen alum, this place always gives me the warm and fuzzies with its blue hen adored plates, and beautiful wall art tribute. We always make it a point to stop here when in Rehoboth.
The service and food in this establishment was on point. Although there is a bit of lack for gluten free options the knowledge of the staff to avert any mishap with ordering was second to none and greatly appreciated by my wife who has celiac. The place was slow at the time we visited but i would be interested to visit under busy conditions to properly assess the capabilities of the place and staff. I am however quite positive they would shine given the quality experienced during lax conditions. Previous experience in a multitude of businesses has shown a distinct corelation of attitude to volume. Lax service- low volume of patrons. Not evident in this business. Thx to all for a pleasant visit. Keep up the good work. Some of us notice and commend those deserving of it. Sorry dont remember the servers name. Keep her. A quick survey of gf knowledge should show who she is. Her aunt or cousin is celiac.
My husband and I hosted our wedding reception of 30 people here this weekend and absolutely loved it. It was a pleasure working with Admin, the events manager, and having every detail taken care of in regards to menu options, drinks, gluten free options and even dietary speciality meals for specific family members. We felt very well taken care of and the food was amazing! We couldn't have asked for a better experience for our small wedding reception.
We chose Harry’s Savoy Grill for my mom’s 70th birthday dinner, and sadly, it was a letdown. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt off. The stares we received upon walking in made it clear that African Americans dining there might not be the norm — very strange and uncomfortable. It gave off “rally” vibes that left us feeling out of place.
The noise level was unbearable, thanks to a table next to us that was clearly over-served. The staff didn’t seem to address it, even though it was obvious everyone was ready for them to leave.
The food was mediocre at best. The only vegan option was a hollowed-out squash with under-seasoned beans spilling over the plate — bland and unappetizing. No gluten-free pasta options were available, and the potatoes tasted like a bowl of oil. For a restaurant positioned as upscale, the food and overall experience were disappointing.
The only bright spot was being able to spend time with my family and celebrate my mom’s milestone, but I won’t be back. Definitely not worth the hype — next time, I’ll be paying closer attention to the reviews.

Had the most wonderful dinner. I had the Halibut special served with summer corn salad and fingerling potatoes and my husband had the day boat scallops. I have a gluten intolerance and they were very accommodating. Let’s not forget the flourless chocolate caramel tart for dessert. The food, service and ambiance were impeccable. The owners came over and introduced themselves and were lovely. Will definitely return next time we visit Rehoboth Beach.
We are always so satisfied with the food here as every bite of what we eat has been thourally thought out and the red pear Martin's are outstanding. Our only critique would be that Kindle should provide better gluten free options, specifically regarding your phenomenal burger. There are plenty of products available to provide a bun for a similar experience to welcome the gluten free diner.
