The bakery we originally ordered from for my son's Bar Mitzvah fell through and we were left with just a week to find non-dairy and gluten-free dessert options for our guests. Red Fern came through with delicious treats and the kind of problem-solving service that meant so much to us when we needed it most. Andrea was so accommodating, our order was ready on time, and everything was delicious. There were so many flavors of mini cupcakes from which to choose and they were fabulous! Yummy little cakes with amazing swirls of frosting and lovely little embellishments like candied fruit, sprinkles, mini cookies, and cookie crumbles. I could eat the chocolate peanut butter rice krispie treats every single day, so good! Nobody even knew the chocolate raspberry cake was non-dairy...they just knew it was delicious and ate every piece of it! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Gnocci w/ chicken, Lamb shank on risotto, steak w/potatoes & broccolini, grouper on pasta. Uniformly deliciously sauced, plated & voraciously devoured. Service personal & attentive. Champagne& vodka cocktails - yum! No sound absorbers in ths small intimate dining room, consequently noisey. Touch oversalted. Would recommend. Really gluten friendly.

Great: -Canolli pancakes! And yes, they are delicious! -Good-sized menu with plenty of options, even for my gluten-free wife -Above average selections/options in condiments and extras like jellies, jams, coffee creamer, etc. Average: -The interior is average breakfast diner. Not bad at all, but nothing that stands out. -It can get quite crowded at times you would expect, like Sunday morning. But they do a good job of moving things along. Wait times were very tolerable. -Service. I thought of adding this to the great section, because anymore even average service seems great. Wait staff was friendly and orders came out quickly and correctly. As I mentioned, sometimes you had to wait a bit but you could tell staff was hustling along. No one was being lazy here. - Some of the prices seemed a little high but were actually good considering the portion sizes. The canolli pancakes are an example but they were enough for 2.5 meals, so maybe not pricey in the end. We will definitely come back whenever we are visiting our kid at RIT.

Highly recommend, particularly for anyone with food allergies or Celiac Disease. Our little one has Celiac and a milk protein allergy. The first thing the server asks you when you are seated is if anyone has food allergies. They have separate gluten-free prep and cook areas, and a separate fryer, so there's no cross-contamination. All of our son's food was brought out by a manager who oversaw everything and had a wooden "allergy" flag sticking out of the food. The food and service were great too! We'll be coming back!

Great sweet tea, brewed in house. Great with celiac, ask for the GF menu. It's in the old rail station, right on the river downtown. Tip: park in the Court St deck to avoid the craziness..

My partner and I live in Rochester but travel everywhere, always looking for a new place to eat out at and Lento is just top tier for us; we always, always return to this gem. The rotating menu, farm to table, gluten free and dairy free options are what make this place so incredible. Every time we come here we get something different and we’ve always been over the moon with the service we’ve received. Hailey is incredible!! Above and beyond and such a joy to be served by her. We recommend this place to everyone. If you get dessert we HIGHLY recommend getting the pear ginger Riesling sorbet. It’s amazing, especially when paired with the Mandarin sorbet, we enjoyed sharing a scoop of each after our exquisite meal. Oh, and drinks are second to none.

We moved from some sad little 4 top, no offense but I could barely squeeze around it!! 🤣🤣🤣, to a LOVELY corner booth for our comfort!! This place has been on my local restaurants to try for awhile now. It did not disappoint. I went with a couple of my girlfriends, one of which is gluten free. This place was perfect because they have several gluten free and also vegan options for anyone looking for those dietary choices. I started off with the duck wings, which were so much larger than I expected, perfectly crunchy with a somewhat sweet sauce (reminded me of country sweet sauce) which really married the flavors. I chose to have the gnocchi with peas, large thick pieces of fresh pancetta, mushrooms, in a light cream sauce with parmigiana shavings. I needed to add some more seasoning and parmigiana, but ultimately it was good considering it was listed as gluten free. This place is worth a try. It is perfect to go with friends, a romantic dinner, or also great for double dates.

I used to have the most amazing experiences here, never had any issues. However I went here for Valentine’s Day and my pasta definitely tasted like regular pasta (if you know, you know). I asked the waitress to check with the cook and since we were sitting right by the kitchen, we saw the chef get mad because they had just closed the kitchen and he didn’t want to make a new meal and said to “just tell her it’s gluten free”. I brought this up to management with no response, so I won’t be returning here sadly.

The food was great, my husband said it's one of the best tasting restaurants he's ever been to. The manager Lou was really nice and accommodating to my celiac disease. (My son also wanted everyone to know that my husband said if Gordon Ramsey ever said anything bad about the place he's punch him in the face.)

Amazing, fresh food. Huge selection. Our table enjoyed a club sandwich, poached avocado toast, and apple cinnamon stuffed gluten free pancakes. Everything was excellent. Service was great; friendly and fast. Sunny's is clean, and nicely decorated. We sat upstairs, which was a bit brighter than downstairs, but both areas were just as appealing. Definitely recommend Sunny's!

Tried this diner for the first time a few weeks ago for lunch. It’s clean bright spacious, has a huge menu it’s hard to decide what to get! Our food was delicious - BLT and a **gluten free** sandwich that my friend was soooo happy about! A lot of places don’t have gluten free bread or wraps or pancakes etc. I went another time with my mom for breakfast & we liked the French toast & scrambled eggs.

My wife and I have enjoyed Hose 22 several times recently. Nice casual atmosphere, friendly staff, and good food options. My wife is a celiac, and although they can not guarantee cross contamination, the servers have tried hard to accommodate her when we dine here. Love the happy hour 22 oz. We hired AVVINO to cater our wedding and it was a great decision. Janine is so easy to work with and makes the process go very smoothly. We were able to have a nice date night at their lovely restaurant prior to the wedding and we enjoyed every second of it. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. The food is amazing and they were able to adjust to any requests we had such as gluten free and vegan/vegetarian. We would highly recommend AVVINO to anyone!

Terrific new American food. Loved the food, and an amazing, extensive, and very well made cocktail list. Entrees are intended to be consumed family style. Just delicious, were able to handle gluten allergies as well. Crowded, loud, active. Good wine list, although we didn't explore it because the cocktails were so interesting. Highly recommend.

This was our first time at Angelina's but we will definitely be back! Highly recommend the bruschetta and pork belly for apps. We also tried the ratatouille which was also delicious. For dinner, the burger was SO good. We also tried the salmon dish, risotto, meatballs and pasta and the tuna special - you couldn't go wrong with anything on the menu. Had plenty of vegetarian options and gluten free substitutes for my whole group's dietary restrictions. The waitress and all staff were very friendly and fun and made great recommendations on the menu. Plenty of street parking and a parking lot. Super cute new place with great food and cocktails!!

Fun little diner! The staff was friendly and service was speedy. I went for breakfast and asked about gluten free options. My server asked the cook and cooked my food in a separate pan! There was even a gluten free bun/roll which was a nice add-on. All in all, a great experience and I will be back!

Consistency!!! I used to come here when I was a kid and now that I live away from home, this is by far my favorite place to stop when I'm in town. It's a classic, and when I say classic, I mean CLASSICCCC. From the retro, train car exterior to the old school bar and booth seating, this place gives off only the best vibes. It's tight in there. From the bar to the booths is probably an arm's length. Seating is also super limited so expect to wait if you're going during peak hours. However, the wait has never been more than 15min in my experience and I'll be honest when I say this is really the only place I'll go out of my way to wait for. Back to consistency. I've been coming here for at least 10 years and the food never disappoints. I navigate between a top 3 selection. You'll never go wrong with any breakfast food here. Ever. Pancakes? Fire. French toast? Fire. Gluten free french toast??? Man.. where else can you get GF french toast and have it turn out absolutely FIRE?! So if I'm going there for lunch, I'll get a wrap. Can you guess what my thoughts are on it? Always amazing. Always the right amount of everything. Fries? Always crispy. But listen. When I tell you their milkshakes are literally a show stopper, I mean it. If you're a fan of Nutella, get the Nutella milkshake. Not only will you NOT be disappointed, but you'll want to take one with you. If you're feeling extra lucky, just pick something from their magical milkshake board. No answer is the wrong answer here. The prices are so reasonable. Like my wife and I go there and DINE. Like I always have to get the works. And we never walk out with a bill over $30. We're talking food, milkshakes, coffee, maybe juice? and still the bill is under $30. The service? So friendly. I always feel so taken care of here. It gets busy in there. Like really busy. I've never not seen the place packed. And still, when the servers come up to us, I feel like we're the only ones who exist. They always make sure our food is right (GF, Dairy Free, and Garlic Free (rip)), and we've never had any mistakes. All in all, if I could visit only one place in Rochester for the rest of my life, there's honestly no question for me. It's the Highland Diner, fam. If you've been looking for a great diner to start going to with your friends for Sunday brunch, this is your sign. Treating yourself on a Tuesday afternoon, this is your sign. I could go on and on, but I wont. Just know you won't be disappointed.
