My husband and I went here because we were in the area and saw that it had good reviews. I am gluten free (coeliac). The menu was clearly labelled and almost the whole menu was gluten free, including unique options like fried chicken and onion bahji. They were very friendly and welcoming. They also seemed very mindful of dietary requirements, including cross-contamination. We had the cassava fries, 31 masala chicken curry, goat curry and paneer saagwala. Everything was delicious and flavourful. I would especially recommend the goat curry. Thank you for a lovely meal!!

I absolutely love this place, I feel like I'm In Japan again with the serenity and lovely customer service. The food is so tasty and fresh and so well priced!!! I absolutely love the onigiris and the sweet food they have in their cabinet (mostly all vegan and gluten free which is a bonus!!). If you have dietary restrictions this is definitely the place to try, especially if you like japanese cuisine. All the drinks are organic and better yet there are so many non caffeine drinks, sesame latte is my favorite!! A little bit nutty and smooth!! I absolutely love the cinnamon banana bread, the best vegan gf one I've ever had! Janken is a must try, especially if you want to come to a peaceful atmosphere filled with joy!!

My review is focusing on the set menu, but I was wanted to preface this by saying that this place is always nice, and always quite gluten-friendly. We came here for the set menu on New Years as a group of four and it was absolutely phenomenal. Unfortunately for us, though every item was delicious, the greatest hits were the items that aren't normally on the menu (I loooooved the beef tataki so much that we asked for more). No need to be scared or worried about there only being one option for the set menu, because every option was stunning. And I'm saying that as a relatively fussy eater. The staff were generally amazing, but something that stood out to me is how accommodating the staff were when it came to our celiac friend. In spite of it being a set menu, they managed to ensure that she had gluten-fres options, especially when it came to dessert and we finally got served our food separately. Would highly recommend for anyone that can't eat gluten, as we frequently come herd with that friend for the normal menu, as there are plenty of options to choose from. One thing to note about Mekong Baby is that it is more on the expensive side, but I wholeheartedly believe that it is worth it for the food and service.

I visited from East Auckland today, and it was worth the drive. Olivia's kitchen staff are so welcoming. They reassured me and helped me several times to pick the right options for gluten-free options. The person behind the counter was extremely helpful. The food itself is amazing. Our items were of great quality and I have not had good GF Asian food in so long. Thank you so much, we hope to visit again. :)

Incredible lunch, could not fault it. The food and service were the highlights for sure but the atmosphere and decor were great too. Every single dish we ordered was delicious, the Pacifica Ceviche was the highlight. The menu sounded really interesting and delicious and it lived up to those expectations. The menu was very clear on what was vegetarian, vegan, dairy free and gluten free. The service from the whole team was great, attentive and informative, especially from our main server Olivia. She was really friendly and professional but still felt like being served by a friend which is exactly what I enjoy about nz hospo. The level of service from each team member was fantastic and I wish them all the best over this crazy season

Food service was quick and had good plates and clean utensils. We ordered the cauliflower starter, Gluten free fried chicken and the pulled pork pancake. The food looks heavy but it is light and filling. Our friends also got the share plater which came with all the sauces and they were a good match with the meat and sides. Not to spicy for those that don’t like spice definitely go here hungry you won’t want to waste any food. The chairs did leave imprints on your legs if you’re wearing shorts we were sitting for a while and had imprints from the chairs if that’s an issue for anyone.

I ordered the Miso ramen with 'Gluten Free Vege Noodles,' which turned out to be grated carrot and zucchini... not what I pictured when reading 'noodles' on the menu. Both mine and my partners food was lukewarm and after telling the waitress she took the food away. However, when leaving I was told that I needed to pay full price for the meals even though I did not eat more than two mouthfuls of it. The service was terrible, the woman who took the payment spoke very rudely to me and the food was well below average.

2nd time here. Cant fault the service or the ambience. Sadly our this lunch the sahimi was sub standard. The 2 piece kingfish nigiri was chewy and the fish not fresh. My salmon sashmi was cut in correctly . I could not eat any of these 3 pieces I tried but had to expell and leave on the plate. This being said the set lunch gluten free chicken that they made gluten free for me was great and my partners beef he said was delicious.

Best Thai Food my partner and I have ever had. Great for people with gluten allergies. Favourites have been the cashew nut stir fry, pad see ew and all the curries! The Sukijaki has become my new favourite soup which I'd never tried before. Don't miss out!

Great food, unfortunately only 4x gluten free dishes. Pat thai was great. Pudding needs work. But will go again. Nice atmosphere friendly staff, seated promptly without a booking, but was forgotten about as 4 staff chatted behind the bar. But redeemed themselves.

I am gluten free and there were so many options for me. So yummy! Love the selection. They were so generous. I was surprised how stacked up my bowl was. I love seaweed salad so I gave myself a friendly helping. The prawns were big and juicy. The sauces were yum. Would definitely come again. Was able to customise my meal to a T. Staff were so kind and patient with me struggling to make my mind up. Thank you Poke poke!

First time visiting this Katsuni, and both of us agreed that the person that helped us was very knowledgeable and helpful when it came to the dietary requirements of both of us. The lady made sure the food had no onion or garlic and for my better half, no gluten. Even treated the preparation to avoid cross contamination and requested staff to use different utensils (not needed but attention to detail was cool). The food itself was very well prepared and very generous servings. Ramen was very good, however the long trip home made the noodles a bit more than al dente which was unavoidable. Would I recommend Katsuni Silverdale? For the service we got and the food we received, yes.

Place was packed on a friday night and luckily we got seats. Their menu is pretty straight up which I find helpful. Especially if you’re new to the cuisine. I appreciate how they have vegetarian and vegan options. Most of the items have gluten free option too. The chicken karaage was a bit different than what I am used to, but it’s good. For the gyoza, I wasn’t expecting it to be presented that way but the taste is okay. We got the pork one and the sauce on the table was a good pair for it. As for the ramen, it’s decent. For $19.50 you get a good serving enough to make you full. I really loved their crispy seaweed, it definitely enhances the ramen. I find their soy egg a bit on the salty side. I liked their interior. The staff are nice and friendly. Go give it a try.

Just discovered this restaurant tonight - it was EXCELLENT! Food fantastic and brilliant service - great welcome and very attentive. Everything we had was super yummy and came pretty quickly! The salads were really fresh and generous, and lots of Gluten free and vegetarian options. The karage chicken is very crunchy and scrumptious and the sashimi is delicious. Recommend trying the banana tempura dessert with matcha ice cream - soooo good! We'll be back again soon! :-)
