I really wanted to love this place. After hearing and reading so many positive reviews, I gave it multiple chances — but unfortunately, I’ve had more negative than positive experiences. The first time I ordered a gluten free burger and thought all was fine, until I became sick shortly after. I brushed it off until my second visit, when I ordered the same thing and noticed that my first order may not have actually been the gluten free version, which planted serious doubts. Wanting to be more cautious, I decided to call ahead before my next visit to ask about their approach to cross contamination and allergy safety. I was met with a rude and dismissive tone. The staff member on the phone told me the cross contamination “must be fine because the restaurant is still in business,” which was very off-putting. I clarified and asked about things like a separate fryer, but the same unhelpful attitude continued — they told me the separate fryer wasn’t in use due to issues with it. Despite these concerns, I gave it one more try. I called again to check if the fryer was back in use and was told it was. When I then mentioned my gluten allergy, I was informed it actually wasn’t safe for me to order because the fryer had already been exposed to gluten late in the week. This left me seriously questioning whether the staff are properly trained in allergy safety and cross contamination — especially since the separate fryer, which should be kept safe for those with allergies, was knowingly compromised. I no longer feel safe ordering from here, and I hope the restaurant takes the time to improve their allergy protocols and train staff accordingly. For now, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone with coeliac disease or gluten allergies.

As someone newly diagnosed with coeliac disease, navigating where to eat has been really overwhelming — until I found this restaurant. On my first visit, my partner and I decided to dine in. I let the staff know I had to flag my meal as a gluten allergy, and I was genuinely impressed by how knowledgeable and reassuring they were. It turns out the menu is about 80% gluten free, which was such a relief and made choosing a dish so much easier. I felt confident and safe the entire time — something I haven’t felt in a long while when eating out. For my second visit, I ordered takeaway. Again, I mentioned my gluten allergy, and the staff immediately let me know that while one of the items I was interested in was made with gluten free ingredients, it had unfortunately been exposed to gluten during cooking. That level of honesty and awareness gave me even more confidence in their practices. Since being diagnosed, I’ve struggled to find places that feel truly safe and informed about coeliac disease. This restaurant has been the first place that not only understands but also cares enough to take the necessary precautions. Highly recommend to anyone with coeliac or gluten sensitivity — this place is a rare find!
