I dont know why the reviews are so low and I honestly don't care to read why! This place is amaaaazing! I have been several times and evertime I go I fall in love with the staff and the sweets. I personally am not a fan of sweets but when a craving hits this is my go to now. I got the gluten free, vegan cupcake (and I'm niether) and it was honestly the best cupcake I have had. . Don't knock it till you try it, and I recommend trying it 🤤

Gluten-free options, so that's nice. That is where the nice ends... While I was sitting, waiting for my food, my friends joined me to wait with me with their food from another shop. Staff comes out and kicks them out. So, they stand on the sidewalk by the street, waiting for me to get my food. Staff comes out and says they cannot stand on the sidewalk. "We own the sidewalk, so you cannot stand there." Never mind the fact that my food took ten times longer than my friends' food, but now they cannot stand on a public space while I wait for my stuff? Also, never mind that my friends bought donuts here, can't mix and match, I suppose... kinda ridiculous. Rude policies. Basic food. Unfortunate vibe.

Surprising amount of vegan options, way more than nearby larger grocery chains. But all their products are hella overpriced. If they’re not on sale (which brings them down to regular prices) they are a couple dollars more expensive, sometimes twice as much. I also did the math for the Stong’s rewards; it amounts to $10 off for each $1000 spent ā˜ ļø WORST deal I’ve ever heard!! I actually laughed out loud! Also, the section at the back with the freezers has lots of vegan premade food! Great right?? Almost… because directly opposite is the meat section. So while you are looking for your anti animal cruelty replacements, you get to be lovingly caressed by the scent of dead animal carcasses, and then turn around and be visually assaulted by their disrespected bodies. Very poor planning on their part, disturbing experience, and vegans/vegetarians are probably missing that aisle because of this. I guarantee they’re losing sales. I also definitely saw some mouldy produce when I was there. It was the olives in the fridge, be extra careful buying those!!! Overall passable experience and good in a pinch when you don’t want to deal with Loblaws and its subsidiaries (crowded, incredibly bright lighting, greedy, insane prices, selling mouldy food, lying about expiry dates, seriously look it up!) or save on foods (somehow the cheapest grocery store right now, which tells you a lot about the cost of living in Canada) Seriously though. Something needs to be done about these crazy costs. I saw a gluten free loaf of bread half the size of the regular for $13. People who have allergies shouldn’t suffer for them that’s so unfair! I’m not gluten free myself, but anyone can see how that’s wrong!

Perfect chai latte with non-dairy milk options (oat milk is my new fav). Also so happy to see they had gluten-free and vegan muffins to go with it. Hoping they add even more GF and V options in future!

I had a lovely visit at this sweet new bakery right near my office....this could spell trouble for my waistline! I need to eat gluten free baking if I have it and was delighted to find out they have a small variety of cookies and sweets that I can enjoy . I ordered 2 of each and am enjoying one of them with my coffee now ....Delicious!!! There is a spiral one that you can seen in the photos...it is sticky and like heaven on your tongue . I also had one of the chickpea cookies ...very yummy . The chickpea cookie has the dry and delicate texture of a shortbread cookie with a soft flavour . I won't eat them all at once but so far everything I bought is fabulous . They make birthday cakes, coffees , smoothies and lots of beautiful bakery treats. The owners of the shop are very friendly and welcoming. As someone who loves to support small local family business in the neighborhood I am so happy to have found Lilium . Go show them some love.
