The Bunker never disappoints, me and my mum love coming here, everyone is so lovely and the food is always a ten out of ten! Special thank you to Yatin the chef who always makes my mum’s night by making the gluten free schnitzel as is her favourite with the gluten free gravy - easily the best! We dove across town after checking menu online for gluten free Salt and pepper squid only find out their deep frier is cross contaminated as it is used for everything so definitely NOT gluten free. What we had was good but not what was wanted. Spoke to manager to make aware of mistake. Care factor very low. Disappointing 😞

Awesome gluten free burgers. Chips are not GF but friendly staff were onto it - checked with me re cross contamination. Nice view from the balcony too.

Ordered the lamb salad and a pizza with chips to share. We asked for the chips to come out first but the lamb salad came out before they did. So we asked how long the pizza would be as one of us had our meal and the other didn’t - waiter said he’s asked them to start making it now…! Second visit here and I had the lamb salad last time which was beautiful and huge. This time, the salad was still lovely but was definitely almost half the size. Don’t know if we’ll be back. The gluten free Portuguese chicken pizza was very average.

We went here for our office's Christmas meal. The Christmas meal has some diversity, including vegan and gluten-free options. The service was also decent. Overall, will return to sample their regular menu.

Excellent time spent with family for lunch, went for the feed me menu (3 course). No problem looking after/catering to my Coeliac diet. Delicious food and wonderful service. Shout out to Coco for looking after us!

Pizza not safe for celiac despite the reviews on here as there is major cross contamination. Speak to staff as they are knowledgeable and were able to offer an alternative which was delicious !

Their gluten free pizzas are to die for! You know it’s good when you question whether it’s actually gf. I even had leftovers because it was a normal pizza size. Also super accommodating for dietary requirements.

Really lovely find and very good options you’ll manage to find something for everyone. The avo was to die for and the gluten free bread was so yummy, whoever your supplier is keep them! The only reason for a 4 not 5 is because the crab roll didn’t have much crab at all. Flavours to die for, compliments to the chef. Chances of us coming back while we’re only here for a week is quite high and will be a Sydney recommendation. Thanks!

I’ve had the home delivery four times and the food is consistently delicious and fresh… I am loving the gluten-free crumbed calamari with aioli, sweet potato chips and salad😀 It’s fantastic value and it arrives hot at the door within 20 minutes in an environmentally friendly box.

Food was great, enjoyed my gluten free burger and fries. We visited midweek for lunch so it was quiet and wasn't much atmosphere but can imagine it would get quite busy. Big menu to choose from and lots of variety on tap.

We had a reservation and we’re a few minutes late & the table wasn’t ready - still dirty with dishes etc we were given a menu to peruse (in a dark corner near the POS) there were minimal GF meals so not ideal for coeliacs and we waited almost 10 minutes for our table, we were seated and then the table was wiped and clean water glasses were taken away. No water was offered. We ordered drinks and dinner, questions regarding GF meals were answered but not confirmed, drinks arrive, then dinner we had to request cutlery & additional Parmesan , we got cutlery but no Parmesan. Throughout our meal no one approached us to ask us how our meal was. The pumpkin risotto was bland but the 3 meat rigatoni was wonderful and a large meal so I requested a take away container which was received. Still no customer service. Yes The meals are large & yes it’s pricey but so are all other Italian restaurants in Newcastle. The atmosphere was noisy and very busy. Would go again on a quieter night / day but certainly not during school holidays.

Attended The Star for a show on 9/11/2022 and was worried about what food I could eat as a coeliac. The lady who served me here was SO helpful and knowledgeable. Huge choice of sushi was gluten free and even the soy sauce and wasabi was gluten free. 5 star service in the middle of a busy time. Cannot thank you enough for making my day!!!

We had two of the best ever pub meals here! Our kids are coeliac and the gluten free fries and gluten free salt and pepper calamari were really delicious meals. The pub gravy needs to be bottled and sold. It was magnificent. We will be back!

I visited on a weekday and was really impressed by the service. We weren’t sure about which flavour margarita slushee to get so the server brought out some small samples to help us decide. They didn’t have an extensive gluten free menu but did have a list of what was gf and coeliac safe which they gave us, and so I felt comfortable that they would minimise any cross contamination. The steak was tender and cooked perfectly

Ate the gluten free pene pre-concert at Qudos Bank. The manager and staff ensured that the gluten pasta water and sauce was not cross contaminated and that staff treat any gluten free meal as coeliac. Even with it being a busy evening pre-show, staff still took care. They advise before choosing the GF Pasta options that it will take 30mins to cook. There are a few other GF options on the menu. Manager also noted on a “non-show” service, there is GF pizza. Meal was great. Nil reactions post meal.

My mother and I had a lovely experience at Adria bar restaurant today!! Laura is a wonderful and attentive server who made sure we had everything we needed. There was multiple gluten free options and Laura let the chef know about dietary requirements so they could be more careful with cross contamination. The portions are well sized for the price of the meals and there is spray bottles situated on tables for any pesky seagulls 😆. Overall a very lovely experience!

Awesome ambiance, tasty food and even better service. Kid kyoto is designed with an eye for art and uses elements like décor, lighting, colors and seating to open a positive dining experience. The menu has a large variety of options from small to large sharing dishes and can cater to any dietary requirements. Everything we ate was full of flavour, decent portion sizes and all could be made Gluten Free. Food presented beautifully and out in a timely manner. Jimmy looked after us incredibly well! He used full menu terminology and it's clear he took the time to study the food and drinks menu. Thank you.

Lived in the area for years! Have always loved The Light Brigade as an easy/fun local, especially the rooftop! My husband and I have attended and even hosted a few birthdays/events at the pub. Such a good event space on the brigade lounge level, with its own bar and bathroom on the same floor, with a small outdoor area for air. Just a great contained space, and doesn’t charge excessively to book the space (except a small $200 booking fee which comes off any food or beverage). I’ve always loved the food but the only thing I would mention is that a friend of mine came with me for dinner one night (who is strictly celiac) and when we asked the kitchen staff about the Gluten Free pasta, they don’t do it? I asked about it (not in a rude way or anything, just pointed it out as it clearly says GF) on the menu, they said it’s not fully GF, but my friend got so awkward and embarrassed (totally fair as she gets food anxiety) so we left. Totally surprised by this experience on her behalf as really I think it’s dangerous to advertise food is safe for certain dietary restrictions, when it’s not?

Seriously the best cafe I have been to in a long time. Amazing food, quick, professional and knowledgeable customer service, have some dairy free and gluten free options or substitutions, the coffee is brilliant. You cannot go wrong with their food or drinks this is the place to be for a delicious lunch. Worth every cent. Thank you for a delicious lunch!
