Always my favorite restaurant. My comfort zone for sure. The gluten free pancakes are my guilty pleasure. But the best thing about the food is the fact that it is all clean ingredients. It cost more money but when I do go out this is the one place that I know my kids are eating healthy.
Enjoy exceptional coffee drinks and unique snacks, but keep in mind tips can't be added on credit cards.

Libertyville location:
This used to be my go to/fave coffeeshop. Despite the lack of outlets, bad lighting in the front area, dirty tables, and no variety for gluten free food, I still came here to work/read bc the coffee and baristas were amazing. Lately though, I have had to return drinks bc the baristas have been instructed to make them differently than what I have ordered. The drinks taste disgusting, especially when made by the manager.
I have spoken to both owners about my experiences. Even afterwards, I am still not getting the drink I ordered! For years, my order had not been an issue, but with this manager, it has become a huge problem.
For many years, I have been a loyal customer. I'm truly grateful to Tom and Kevin for the past years, as I enjoyed Hansa when it was a high quality cafe. Perhaps Lake Bluff is better; I haven't been there in a while, but I will give that location a try. Thankfully though, there are many other cafes in Libertyville.
A cozy breakfast gem known for generous portions and a delightful atmosphere, perfect for starting your day right.

The Wicked Egg is a gem! The staff is incredibly kind, and the food is consistently top-notch. They cater wonderfully to gluten and dairy sensitivities without compromising on taste. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service make every visit a delight. Don’t miss out on this fantastic breakfast spot!
The food tasted great and service was good. The Sunday brunch menu has some interesting choices and it's varied so you should have options. Be prepared to try something you would not have thought to combine before. We enjoyed the Grecian Benedict (the base is falafel, not exactly traditional Greek but tasted great), the Breakfast sandwich (the lamb bacon and tyrokafteri really bring this dish to the next level), Greek yogurt and the baklava pancake (gluten free, tasted fine). We were really happy we tried Chrissoula's out.
The biscuits and cinnamon rolls are to die for. And for the gluten free the Chubby Sausage sandwich with egg on gluten free bread is the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had!!!
A cozy family-run spot with a welcoming vibe, offering a range of excellent meals at reasonable prices and convenient parking.

Found this restaurant while searching for something in Libertyville. Family owned and run. We ate in, had four different meals all excellent. Wait staff kind and efficient. Two of us are Gluten Free and chefs able to adapt almost every dish. Reasonable prices! Parking in back. Try this restaurant out if you have not been there.

What a great find in Libertyville. The breakfast bagels are extremely good made to order with your choice of their many bagel options, meat if wanted, and cheese selections. The staff was very friendly and our order was ready quickly. Add in a cup of coffee and enjoy the atmosphere with an easy conversation level. Highly recommended and I'll be a regular going forward especially with gluten free options for family members.
