Trying to find a restaurant that offers a gluten free menu as well as regular with no discernible differences in taste is 1 in a million and buzzard Billy’s is exactly that. A variety of amazing tea options, the jade cloud green tea was really good. Great gluten free sandwich options and the gluten free cinnamon roll was the best cinnamon roll I have ever had. The staff and owner were also very friendly. Highly recommend!

A friend suggested this place because they have gluten-free crepes. We had to go! The gentleman who greeted us right away made us feel at ease and he directed us to a table while we looked over the menues. I ordered jasmine tea, which came in a beautiful little cup and pitcher. We decided to split two crepes, the Ratatouille and the L'Ocean (smoked salmon). Both looked amazing and tasted even better! Flavor, texture, and presentation were a "10"! Sadly, we didn't save room for a dessert crepe, which we decided we'd have to come back for again. If the GF crepes were that delicious, I'd wager their regular crepes are outstanding. Definitely check this cute place out!

I ordered a special catering meal for a family dinner and was absolutely blown away by both the service and the food! They went above and beyond—creating a custom menu just for us, making flatbread per my special request (even a gluten-free version!), and communicating quickly and kindly throughout the whole process. When I came to pick it up, the staff was so friendly and welcoming—they even had me sampling things at the counter! I genuinely felt like I was at home. Everything was delicious, and I’ll definitely be coming back again and again!

Cute diner with friendly staff and great food. We went with party of 6, some had breakfast, some salad or sandwich. Everyone enjoyed. I highly recommend the Bluebird juevos as it was excellent. They even had good gluten free pancakes for our celiac group member.

Kindred is a casual café with delicious breakfast, brunch or lunch 100% gluten free. As celiac, it is rare to have the possibility to choose anything from the menu without cross-contamination. This is the only place in Iowa city with a 100% GF kitchen. Additionally, I loved the vibe of the place: young and casual.

Great atmosphere and service. However, would not recommend to those with celiac disease despite the gluten free menu options. Clearly was either cooked with gluten containing items and heavy cross contact, or my 5 year old with celiac disease was served gluten pancakes despite confirming and re-confirming.

Loved the gluten free orange chicken here! Plenty of gf options to choose from. They also have cbd/thc infused drinks here. Outside is a large outdoor patio where kids can play too while waiting for food. Very friendly service, we'll be back!

Great food! Great staff! Most importantly, they have gluten free options for symptomatic celiac customers. They are more than willing and able to review which items are safe which does include the root beer. Love the new location, especially how they kept the homey feeling with the décor. The sense of humor is great if you take the time to read many of the signs.

Nice deli, food was good. We tried it out since it showed they had Gluten-free options. The menu states it's gluten free options are not for Celiac individuals. We had a Celiac person with us. They have baked potatoes, which was a good option for our Celiac individual. I'm just not sure how much cross contamination there is. So overall, it's not the best option if you have Celiacs.

The food was great and they have good gluten free options. The waiter was just ok but the hostess (I believe her name was Rachel) was great. The kind of person that keeps you going back. Not a huge fan of the all open floor plan restaurants but the food was good enough it's not a deal breaker. Would definitely go back when we're in the area again.

Solid food, cocktail, and beer choices, with some vegan and gluten free options as well. Pricing is in the middle to high end. There are $15-20 dishes, but can easily go into the $25-35 range or even higher. There is a speakeasy downstairs, but it was closed when we visited. Would recommend making a reservation to avoid waiting, as it can get busy.

ziggis is hands down the best place for coffee, a snack, meeting with friends, and great customer service. my drink is always delicious and never too bitter or too sweet, this place has never done me wrong. the place is always clean, the staff is always ready to go. i love coming here & even the smoothies are a banger. the gluten free options are so good too. i recommend this place for everyone! i am upset that there has been construction blocking off partial access to ziggis, but its worth the detour every time. go to ZIGGIS!

Some places have good food, some places have good atmosphere, the Morning Story-Marion has both. I have dined here a number of times, quite a number, actually😉 This breakfast & lunch restaurant is bright, bustling, and brand new (in Marion, Iowa since Nov 2021). They have a sophisticated, modern menu with a SW vibe. This is definitely not an old school diner, offering items like a Mimosa Fried Chicken Benedict or the equally scrumptious Green Chili Chicken Hash. I have had perhaps 10 dishes from the breakfast menu and have never been even slightly disappointed. The dishes are generous and will provide yummy leftovers for many patrons. The lunch menu is also full of delectable choices, from sandwiches like burgers, a club, tenderloin, and philly to fresh salads and the always popular half-n-half combo. I had a fantastic breakfast with my partner recently, our choices being the gluten-free Oatmeal Pancakes, with Rolled Oats, Strawberries, Blueberries, Agave Nectar, Blueberry Compote, and Powdered Sugar. Available also as a combo with eggs and a choice of meat. The second dish was the Breakfast Quesadilla with Scrambled Eggs, Diced Bacon, Roasted Onion, Green Peppers, Cheddar Jack Cheese, Jalapeño Cream Cheese, Fresh Herbs, Salsa Roja. Both dishes were incredibly tasty, made fast and fresh with high-quality ingredients and bursting with flavor. Enough about the food, no mention of this place would be complete without mentioning the hustling, professional, and super friendly staff. One can not help but feel as though every visit is a get-together with good friends. Every staff member on every visit has been smiling, chatty, and genuinely welcoming. The manager (who is a star) not only circulates the dining room constantly, assuring everything is going perfectly, but also somehow finds time to speak to all of the customers in this very busy restaurant in an unhurried way that never ceases to amaze me. I have been here several times recently for brunch. This place knows what they are doing and they are really good at it: the atmosphere, the decor, the food, the service. The lattes here are the best in the area, hands down. Even the cups and saucers are beautiful and add to my enjoyment of the coffee drinks. I want the exact cups for my own home. The seasonal latte flavors are creative and never overly sweet. I do love a pumpkin spice latte, and St. Kilda has the best. I was interested in a seasonal mocha and was hesitant to order it for fear it would be too sweet, but the server told me more about it so I decided to try it. It was the best mocha I’ve ever had with the perfect balance of flavors and just the right amount of sweetness. Everything that’s a part of the Big Aussie Breakfast is prepared to perfection: thick cut bacon, delicious blistered roasted tomatoes, perfectly crispy house-made bread. Even the gluten-free bread is excellent. Last week my boyfriend got a hashbrown on the side and it was the best hashbrown I’ve ever had - a lovely soft texture on the inside and perfectly crispy all the way around on the outside. The last 3 times I’ve eaten there, we’ve had the same server. I love her! Very friendly, relatable, and a bit quirky in the best possible way. After our last visit, I decided St. Kilda in Valley Junction is my favorite place for brunch.
