Lovely to not miss out on a cream tea with my friend with there being a gluten-free coeliac friendly scone. Would have rather the scone was room temperature, as the clotted cream did melt, but it was still tasty.
A cozy spot with trendy decor, great vibes, and a fantastic atmosphere perfect for brunch, lunch, or just lounging with drinks.

My favourite place to eat in Durham. I love the decor, the vibe and the friendly staff. The food is always delicious. There is a separate gluten-free menu and I've always had a great experience there.
With a stellar brunch offering a wide range of options, this spot is a hit for both brunch lovers and those seeking variety, all at a fair price.

The interior design of the new Treats cafe is lovely - both pretty and very clean. The food was satisfactory, unfortunately the gluten free bread served is the cheap, sweet bread, so I didn’t particularly like the toastie. That being said, the filling and side salad was good, and my only complaint was the gluten free bread (it’d be nice if they could get a different one). The staff were so wonderful and very friendly! They were excellent at answering questions - very patient and approachable.
Popular for its lovely outdoor seating and vibrant atmosphere, this spot draws crowds eager for a delicious experience worth the wait.

Been here a couple of times, and the food is excellent! Very well made! The lemon and ginger drink is very refreshing, and perfect for the cold weather. It's a pity that the gluten-free cakes they sell are not coeliac safe, because they are sold right next to the gluten cakes, and so not safe for cross-contamination. The staff are lovely though, very honest and friendly.
Enjoy a welcoming vibe with a substantial menu and special perks for members, making every visit feel like a treat.

Had a wonderful evening at the Ask Italian in Durham. Lee was a wonderful server and was very attentive to all of our needs. As a coeliac the pizza was delicious and extra cake was taken to ensure all my food was suitable for my allergies.
Enjoy a vibrant atmosphere with quick service and a variety of options that cater to different tastes.

We came tonight for dinner and the service was very confusing. We had a waitress who was I’m guessing new (completely okay). However all FOH staff didn’t seem to know what was happening. Staff were bringing food to wrong tables, a table next to us weren’t happy that their garlic bread came out as they were nearly finished with their pastas. Our starters came out and my friend had gluten free stickers on her bowl even though we have no allergies. Mains come out with no allergy treatment so very confused about that. When we got offered desserts we were also offered an allergy matrix (again, we have no allergies). Had to send a dessert back due to a hair being in it. Overall, Food was okay, speed of service was okay, but the FOH staff really had no clue what was going on. The only saving grace was our main server Sam who took over from our mains onwards.
This cozy spot offers hearty portions and a delightful variety, perfect for those looking to indulge in deliciousness on every visit.

A little gem of a place with big portions of delicious food. We had savoury pancakes, the wonderfully friendly staff handled the gluten free request with ease. Freshly cooked and absolutely yummy! More to try on our next visit...

The food was really nice and it was fun to pick random toppings. Our waiter Dylan was very helpful, polite and knowledgeable. One of our party is coeliac and Dylan made us feel very confident that she would eat safely
Excellent service. Separate celiac menu. This is the first time I've seen intolerance separated from celiac. Bravo! 👏 A rare occasion I could fully enjoy a meal safely with my family 🙂
A lively spot filled with happy diners and a welcoming vibe, it’s perfect for a cozy hangout with tasty treats to take home!

Amazing Cafe! Upon entering the cafe was full and whilst finding a table a lovely staff member seated us together in some armchairs until a table was available. I’m gluten intolerant and asked her if they catered for me and was delightfully surprised to hear that all items on the menu could be catered for GF!
I had a full English breakfast which was good quality produce and yummy, the toast provided with it was also nice bloomer style bread! My son had a tuna melt toastie and thoroughly enjoyed that too! The atmosphere was super friendly, constantly full tables (which I think says it for its self), the service was impeccable and I can honestly say we will be definitely visiting again if in the area.
Oh and whilst leaving couldn’t resist taking out a yummy looking cake to have later on!
Charming spot with a welcoming vibe, offering personalized service that ensures a memorable dining experience for everyone.

Helen and michelle and kitchen staff went out the way to help our daughter who has a gluten allergie and put together a meal that was safe for her. They double checked menu to make sure all food was safe for our daughter.
Pleasent atmosphere and great service from staff.
Definitely wouod recommend. All meals were lovely x
Used to like this place but it’s not great for allergies. What’s the point of having a gluten free tag on the menus and then not applying it to anything? The get out clause of “talk to our staff” isn’t a solution. Many of us don’t want to have a little meeting before ordering something. Just have a gf menu with modified versions or list what’s gf on the menu. It’s not difficult to do that. When you go abroad it’s incredibly common. We’re just useless at it in Durham
